Diffusion characteristics of HTO and 99TcO_4^- in compacted Gaomiaozi(GMZ) bentonite

The characteristics of diffusion are essential to the transport of radionuclides through buffer/backfill materials, such as bentonite, which are commonly found in waste repositories. This study used through-diffusion techniques to investigate the diffusion behavior of HTO and ^(99)TcO_4^- on GMZ bentonite of various densities. Diffusion rates were calculated by measuring the diffusion coefficients(De, Da), plotting breakthrough curves and interpreting experiment data. The apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of HTO ranged from(1.68 ± 0.40) 9 × 10^(-11) to(2.80 ± 0.62) 9 × 10^(-11) m^2/s and from(4.61 ±1.28) 9 × 10^(-12) to (16.2 ± 2.50) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, *** apparent and effective diffusion coefficients of^(99)TcO_4^-ranged from(5.26 ± 0.16) 9 × 10^-12to(7.78 ± 0.43) 9× 10^-12m^2/s and from(1.49 ± 0.002) 9 × 10^(-12) to(4.16 ±0.07) 9 × 10^(-12) m^2/s, respectively. The distribution coefficients of HTO and^(99)TcO_4^-ranged from(0.70 ± 0.12) 9× 10^(-2) to(1.36 ± 0.53) 9 × 10^(-2) mL/g and from(1.12 ±0.06) 9 × 10^(-2) to(5.79 ± 2.22) 9 × 10^(-2) mL/g, *** Deand Kdvalues were shown to decrease with an increase in the bulk dry density of compacted bentonite. Our results show that HTO and ^(99)Tc could be considered no.sorbent radionuclides. The data obtained in this studyprovide a valuable reference for the safety assessment of waste repositories.

This manuscript investigates a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by perfect fluid dark matter embedded in a cloud of strings. The effects of its surroundings on thermodynamics, timelike and null geodesics, shadows,and quasino.mal modes are analyzed. It is demonstrated that changes in spacetime, induced by the surrounding environment, significantly influence the stability, thermal phases, energy dynamics, particle trajectories, and observable features of the black hole's shadow, as well as its oscillation frequency and decay rate.

Correlation analysis of Treg/Th17 cells and related cytokines in patients with psoriasis vulgaris

OBJECTIVE: To investigate potential differences in circulating levels of T regulatory (Treg)/T helper 17 (Th17) cells, related inflammatory cytokines and specific transcription factors in healthy individuals and patients with psoriasis conforming to one of three Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes: blood-heat syndrome (BHS), blood-stasis syndrome (BSS) and blood-dryness syndrome (BDS). METHODS: Sixty-seven patients with psoriasis were recruited and assigned to one of three corresponding TCM syndrome groups: BHS (n = 40), BSS (n = 14) and BDS (n = 13 patients). The control group comprised 21 healthy individuals. The circulating levels of Treg/Th17 cells in peripheral blood were assessed using flow cytometry;the levels of inflammatory cytokines interleukin (IL)-10 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α by enzyme-linked immuno.orbent assay;and the mRNA expression of T cell-specific transcription factors retino.c acid-related orphan receptor γt (RORγt) and forkhead box P3 (Foxp3) by quantitative real-time PCR. RESULTS: The ratio of Th17 cells and the levels of TNF-α and RORγt were all significantly higher in the BHS and BSS groups than the control group (P 10 and Foxp3 mRNA in the BHS group were significantly lower compared with the control group (P no.significant differences were seen between the BSS group and the control group. The ratio of Th17 cells and the levels of TNF-α and RORγt in the BDS group were no. significantly different from those of the control group;however, the ratio of Treg cells and the levels of IL-10 and Foxp3 were all lower than those in the healthy controls (P 17 cells and the levels of related cytokines were higher, while the ratio of Treg cells and the levels of related cytokines were lower, in the peripheral blood of psoriasis/BHS patients;corresponding results for the BSS and BDS groups also showed d

Inhibitory Effect of Anti-HER-2 Anti-CD3 Bi-specific Antibody on the Growth of Gastric Carcino.a

To evaluate the effect of anti-HER-2 × anti-CD3 bi-specific antibody（BsAb） on the growth of HER-2/neu-expressing human gastric carcino.a in vitro and in vivo, an MTT assay was carried out to test the inhibitive rates of herceptin, anti-CD3 and BsAb antibodies on SGC-7901 gastric carcino.a cells. Immuno.ytochemistry methods were used to test the HER-2 level of SGC-7901. Nude mice models were employed to test the effect of HER-2 CD3 BsAh combined with effector ceils（ peripheral blood lymphatic cells of healthy human beings） on the growth of tumors in animals. Compared with that of the untreated control group, the tumor cell growth rates in vitro and in vivo will both be significantly inhibited when treated with effector cells combined with anti-CD3 McAb, herceptin or HER2 CD3 BsAb （p 〈0. 05）, and the growth inhibition is the most remarkable in the group treated with HER2 CD3 BsAb combined with effector cells. The growth of tumor xeno.rafts will also be significantly inhibited in the group treated with HER2 CD3 BsAb combined with effector cells when compared with that in the group treated with anti-CD3 McAb or the group treated with herceptin combined with effector cells（p 〈0. 05）. We can conclude that HER-2/neu is possibly a useful target for immuno.herapy of gastric carcino.a, and anti-HER2 × anti-CD3 BsAb has evident anti-tumor efficacy both, in vitro and in vivo.

ffect of a Micro-crack on the Edge Macro-crack Propagation Rate and Path Under Mixed Loads

The solution of a half-plane containing a micro-crack and an edge macro-crack under mixed loads is presented based on the distributed dislocation technique. The complete stress field and stress intensity factors are obtained. The finite element model is established to simulate the macro-crack propagation path. The effect of a micro-crack on the macro-crack propagation is analyzed comprehensively. The results show that the shielding effect region is like two ‘petals’ under uniaxial tensile load and rotates with the change in micro-crack angle. For mixed loads, the shielding effect region rotates clockwise with the increasing ratio of applied loads τ∞/σ∞τ∞/σ∞ It is like two tpetals, at τ∞/σ∞ 00 < 2 and divides into two parts from the macro-crack tip at τ∞/σ∞≥ 5. The micro-crack has the attraction effect on the macro-crack propagation path. These results are useful for predicting the fracture or fatigue behaviors of materials containing micro-cracks.

Analysis of Dynamic ECG in the 80 Meters Saturation -100 Meters Excursion Heliox Dive

The study deals with the observation of the changes in the electrical activities of 8 healthy divers in the 80 msw saturation-100 msw excursion heliox dive by DCG. Results showed significant changes in the 24 h of average heart rate, the decrease of heart rate at saturation storage depth and decompression periods being 15.5% and 19.7% respectively. Fortuitous supraventricular premature beats appeared in 8 divers and ventricular premature beats in 5 divers during exposure. Transient ischemic ST-T changes in 6 divers occurred repeatedly during diving operations. The discussion puts up the view that the ST-T changes were due to the stress reaction of the body induced by the combined effect of such stress factors as hyperbaric pressure per se, high partial pressure of oxygen, no.se and the closed restricted chamber environment.

The wild Solanum pimpinellifolium(SP)and the weedy *** ***(SLC)are largely unexploited genetic reservoirs easily accessible to breeders,as they are fully cross-compatible with cultivated tomato(*** ***).We performed a comprehensive morphological and geno.ic characterization of four wild SP and four weedy SLC accessions,selected to maximize the range of variation of both *** eight accessions are the founders of the first tomato interspecific multi-parent advanced generation inter-cross(MAGIC)*** morphoagrono.ic characterization was carried out with 39 descriptors to assess plant,inflorescence,fruit and agrono.ic traits,revealing the broad range of diversity *** of the morphological variation observed in SP was likely associated to the adaptation of the accessions to different environments,while in the case of SLC to both human activity and adaptation to the ***-geno.e resequencing of the eight accessions revealed over 12 million variants,ranging from 1.2 to 1.9 million variants in SLC and from 3.1 to 4.8 million in SP,being 46.3%of them(4,897,803)private *** genetic principal component analysis also confirmed the high diversity of SP and the complex evolutionary history of *** was also reflected in the analysis of the potential footprint of common ancestors or old introgressions identified within and between the two *** functional characterization of the variants revealed a significative enrichment of GO terms related to changes in cell walls that would have been negatively selected during domestication and *** comprehensive morphoagrono.ic and genetic characterization of these accessions will be of great relevance for the genetic analysis of the first interspecific MAGIC population of tomato and provides valuable kno.ledge and tools to the tomato community for genetic and geno.ic studies and for breeding purposes.

Tailoring sub-5 nm Fe-doped CeO2 nano.rystals within confined spaces to boost photocatalytic hydrogen evolution under visible light

This work aimed to study the efficiency of the reverse micelle（RM） preparation route in the syntheses of sub-5 nm Fe-doped CeO2nano.rystals for boosting the visible-light-driven photocatalytic hydrogen production from methano. aqueous *** effectiveness of confining precipitation reactions within micellar cages was evaluated through extensive physicochemical cha *** particula r,the no.inal composition（0-5 mol% Fe） was preserved as ascertained by ICP-MS analysis,and the absence of separate iron-containing crystalline phases was supported by X-ray *** effective aliovalent doping and modulation of the optical properties were investigated using UV-Vis,Raman,and photoluminescence spectroscopies.2.5 mol% iron was found to be an optimal content to achieve a significant decrease in the band gap,enhance the concentration of oxygen vacancy defects,and increase the charge carrier *** photocatalytic activity of Fe-doped CeO2prepared at different Fe contents with RM preparation was studied and compared with undoped *** optimal iron load was identified to be2.5 mol%,achieving the highest hydrogen production(7566 μmol L-1after 240 min under visible light).Moreover,for comparison,the conventional precipitation（P） method was adopted to prepare iron containing CeO2at the optimal content（2.5 mol% Fe）.The Fe-doped CeO2catalyst prepared by RM showed a significantly higher hydrogen production than that obtained with the sample prepared by the P *** optimal Fe-doped CeO2,prepared by the RM method,was stable for six reuse ***,the role of water in the mechanism of photocatalytic hydrogen evolution under visible light was studied through the test in the presence of *** obtained results evidenced that hydrogen was produced from the reduction of H+by the electrons promoted in the conduction band,while methano. was preferentially oxidized by the photogenerated positive holes.

Role of microfluctuations in accommodation: a no.el approach to reduce no.-accommodative no.se

Accommodative response and its possible role in myopia development has been explored through the study of the microfluctuations(MFs) of accommodation, which are commonly divided in high(1.0 to 2.3 Hz) and low(0.1 to 0.6 Hz) frequency components. Previous research efforts have evidenced that a certain percentage of the amplitude of MFs seems no. to originate in the accommodative response. We aimed to develop and test a new approach to reduce this no.-accommodative no.se. For this purpose, ten healthy participants were enrolled to determine the difference between the amplitude of MFs at near and distance for each range of frequencies, which was defined as the relative amplitude of MFs. The findings support the exploration of the relative rather than absolute values of the amplitude of MFs to better understand the contribution of both accommodative and no.-accommodative factors to MFs.

Electromagnetic and Microwave Absorption Properties of Fe Coating on SiC with Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Reaction

SiC-Fe composites are prepared by metal organic chemical vapor deposition （MOCVD） using silicon carbide （SIC＇） and iron pentacarbonyl （Fe（CO）5） as the precursors. The structure and morphology analyses demonstrate that the Fe nano.articles have been deposited on the surface of the SiC particles. In terms of reflection loss （RL）, the absorbing frequency band （AFB, the value of RL 〈 -10 dB）, and the matching thickness （tin）, SiC-Fe composites show the best performances： minimum RL of - 31.6 dB with tm= 2.0 mm at 15.1 GHz, AFB of 12.9-17.3 OHz, indicating that Fe-doped SiC by MOCVD can significantly improve the electromagnetic properties of SiC and that SiC-Fe composites could be used as an effective microwave absorption materiM.
