Moirépotential profile can form flat electronic bands and manifest correlated states of electrons,where carrier doping is essential for observing those *** this work,we uncover a hidden but remarkable many-electron effect:doped carriers form a two-dimensional plasmon and strongly couple with quasiparticles to renormalize moirépotential and realize ultra-flat *** many-body perturbation theory,we demonstrate this effect in twisted MoS_(2)/WS_(2) *** moirépotential is significantly enhanced upon carrier doping,and the bandwidth is reduced by order of magnitude,leading to drastic quenching of electronic kinetic energy and stronger *** further predict that the competition between correlated mechanisms can be effectively controlled via doping,giving hope to a quantum transition between Mott and charge-transfer insulating *** work reveals that the potential renormalization effect of doping is much more significant in determining and controlling many-electron electronic correlations than sole filling-factor tuning in semiconducting moirécrystals.

Temperature is one of the most fundamental physical properties to characterize various physical,chemical,and biological *** a slight change in temperature could have an impact on the status or dynamics of a ***,there is a great need for high-precision and large-dynamic-range temperature *** temperature sensors encounter difficulties in high-precision thermal sensing on the submicron ***,optical whispering-gallery mode(WGM)sensors have shown promise for many sensing applications,such as thermal sensing,magnetic detection,and ***,despite their superior sensitivity,the conventional sensing method for WGM resonators relies on tracking the changes in a single mode,which limits the dynamic range constrained by the laser source that has to be fine-tuned in a timely manner to follow the selected mode during the ***,we cannot derive the actual temperature from the spectrum directly but rather derive a relative temperature ***,we demonstrate an optical WGM barcode technique involving simultaneous monitoring of the patterns of multiple modes that can provide a direct temperature readout from the *** measurement relies on the patterns of multiple modes in the WGM spectrum instead of the changes of a particular *** can provide us with more information than the single-mode spectrum,such as the precise measurement of actual *** the high sensitivity of WGMs and eliminating the need to monitor particular modes,this work lays the foundation for developing a high-performance temperature sensor with not only superior sensitivity but also a broad dynamic range.

Microbial communities inhabiting river ecosystems play crucial roles in global biogeochemical cycling and pollution *** variations in local microbial assemblages are important for detailed understanding of community assembly and developing robust biodiversity sampling ***,we intensely analyzed twenty water samples collected from a one-meter spaced transect from the near-shore to the near-center in the Meramec River in eastern Missouri,USA and examined the microbial community composition with 16S rRNA gene amplicon *** microbiomes across the transect exhibited extremely high similarity,with Pearson’s correlation coefficients above 0.9 for all pairwise community composition ***,despite the high similarity,PERMANOVA revealed significant spatial differences between near-shore and nearcenter communities(p=0.001).Sloan’s neutral model simulations revealed that within-transect community composition variation was largely explained by demographic stochasticity(R^(2)=0.89).Despite being primarily explained by neutral processes,LefSe analyses also revealed taxa from ten families of which relative abundances differed directionally from the bank to the river center,indicating an additional role of environmental ***,the local variations within a river transect can have profound impacts on the documentation of alpha ***-accumulation curves indicated that even twenty samples did not fully saturate the sampling effort at the genus level,yet four,six and seven samples were able to capture 80%of the phylum-level,family-level,and genus-level diversity,*** study for the first time reveals hyperlocal variations in riverine microbiomes and their assembly mechanisms,demanding attention to more robust sampling strategies for documenting microbial diversity in riverine systems.

Polygonal models are popular representations of 3D objects. The use of polygonal models in computational applications often requires a model to properly bound a 3D solid. That is, the polygonal model needs to be closed, manifold, and free of self-intersections. This paper surveys a sizeable literature for repairing models that do not satisfy this criteria, focusing on categorizing them by their methodology and capability. We hope to offer pointers to further readings for researchers and practitioners, and suggestions of promising directions for future research endeavors.

Exposure to multiple environmental stressors is a common occurrence that can affect organisms in predictable or unpredictable *** and turbidity in aquatic environments are 2 stressors that can affect reproductive behaviors by altering energy availability and the visual environment,*** we examine the relative effects of population and the rearing environment(oxygen concentration and turbidity)on reproductive *** reared cichlid fish(the Egyptian mouthbrooder,Pseudocrenilabrus multicolor)from 2 populations(a swamp and river)until sexual maturity,in a full factorial design(hypoxic/normoxic×clear/turbid)and then quantified male competitive and courtship behaviors and female preference under their respective rearing ***,we found that the rearing environment was more important than population for determining behavior,indicating there were few heritable differences in reproductive behavior between the 2 ***,males in the hypoxic rearing treatment performed more competitive and courtship *** turbid conditions,males performed fewer competitive and courtship *** predicted that females would prefer males from their own ***,under the hypoxic and turbid combination females from both populations preferred males from the other *** results suggest that reproductive behaviors are affected by interactions among male traits,female preferences,and environmental conditions.
