New Polymer Syntheses Part 60: A Facile Synthetic Route to Polyamides Based on Thieno[2,3-b]thiophene and Their Corrosion Inhibition Behavior

Polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety were prepared via a simple polycondensation reaction of the diaminothieno[2,3-b]thiophene monomer la with different kinds of diacid chlorides （including oxalyl, adipoyl, sebacoyl, isophthaloyl, terephthaloyl, 4,4＇-azodibenzoyl, 3,3＇-azodibenzoyl, p-phenylene diacryloyl） in the presence of LiC1 and NMP as a solvent through lowtemperature solution polycondensation. The chemical structures of model compound and synthesized polyamides were confirmed by FTIR, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy （including 1 H-NMR and 13 C-NMR） and elemental analysis. In addition, the thermal stability, crystallinity structure and surface morphology of synthesized polyamides were characterized via thermogravametric analysis （TGA）, wide-angle X-ray diffraction analysis （WAXD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. Also, the corrosion inhibition behavior of selected examples ofpolyamides was investigated; the inhibitive effect of the investigated polymers for carbon steel in 1.0 mol＇L-1 HCI was studied using potentiodynamic polarization （PDP） and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） methods. PDP results displayed that the polyamides containing thieno[2,3-b]thiophene moiety can be as mixed-type inhibitors. The inhibition efficiency （P, %） was found to be in the range from 67.13% to 96.01%. There is an increase in P by the synthesized polymers in comparison to the starting monomer. The adsorption of these polymers was found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

Synthesis, Characterization and Corrosion Inhibitive Properties of New Thiazole Based Polyamides Containing Diarylidenecyclohexanone Moiety

The present work aimed to synthesize a new interesting series of thiazole based polyamides containing diarylidenecyclohexanone moiety 5a-5f using low temperature solution polycondensation technique. The new polymers were synthesized by the reaction of thiazole based monomer namely, bis（2-aminothiazol-4-ylbenzylidene）cyclohexanone 3 with different aliphatic and aromatic diacid chlorides using NMP, and in the presence of anhydrous Li Cl as catalyst. Adipoyl, sebacoyl, oxaloyl, terephthaloyl, isophthaloyl dichlorides and biphenyl dicarbonyl dichloride were used as diacid chlorides. The structure of the model compound 4 as well as the new polymers was confirmed by correct elemental and spectral analyses. The thermal properties of those polymers were evaluated by TGA and DTG measurements and correlated to their structural units, beside X-ray diffraction analysis, solubility and viscometry measurements. The inherent viscosities for the synthesized polymers were in the range 0.6–1.03 d L/g. On the other hand the corrosion inhibitive properties of monomer 3 as well as polyamides 5d and 5f as selected examples were carried out on carbon-steel in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 at 40 °C. The calculated inhibition efficiency（IE%） for polymer 5d was in the range（82 ± 6）% in all selected concentrations. The best value of IE% was obtained at 1 mg/L to reach 98.24% for polymer 5d and at 0.5 mg/L to reach 87.75% for polymer 5f.

Kieselguhr for chromatography was loaded with Cyanex 572 extractant and characterized using X-ray diffraction(XRF),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transform infra-red(FT-IR),and thermal *** of some heavy lanthanides together with yttrium by the prepared kieselguhr/Cy-572 sorbent was investigated by batch experiment in terms of initial metal ions concentrations,volume to solid mass ratio(V/m),sulfuric acid concentration as well as *** sorption equilibrium of Cy-572 loaded kieselguhr was satisfactorily explained by the pseudo second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm ***,the values of thermodynamic parameters △G°,△H°,and △S°at25℃of the studied metal ions show that the process is spontaneous and endothermic in nature.2.0 mol/L HNO3 is promising to desorb these metal ions.

Temporal trends in organophosphorus pesticides use and concentrations in river water in Japan, and risk assessment

We reviewed organophosphorus pesticide use in Japan between 1982 and 2016 using data from the National Institute of Environmental Studies. Organophosphorus pesticide concentrations in river water throughout Japan were taken from the literature, and risk assessments were performed for some organophosphorus pesticides based on risk quotients and hazard quotients. Assessments were performed for 20 common pesticides,including insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides. The amounts used decreased in the order: insecticides > herbicides > fungicides. Organophosphorus insecticide and fungicide use have decreased over the last four decades, but organophosphorus herbicide use has increased. During this period, annual organophosphorus pesticide use was the highest for chlorpyrifos(105,263 tons/year) and the lowest for glyphosate-sodium(8 tons/year). The ecotoxicological risk assessment indicated that diazinon and fenitrothion posed strong risks to the Japanese aquatic environment, and chlorpyrifos and malathion have moderate risks. None of the pesticides that were assessed posed significant risks to *** use of organophosphorus pesticides in Japan may cause strong risks to aquatic environments. These risks should be reassessed periodically.

Drought stress imposes a major constraint over a crop yield and can be expected to grow in importance if the climate change predicted comes *** methods are needed to facilitate crop management via the prompt detection of the onset of ***,we report the use of an in vivo OECT(organic electrochemical transistor)sensor,termed as bioristor,in the context of the drought response of the tomato *** device was integrated within the plant’s stem,thereby allowing for the continuous monitoring of the plant’s physiological status throughout its life *** was able to detect changes of ion concentration in the sap upon drought,in particular,those dissolved and transported through the transpiration stream,thus efficiently detecting the occurrence of drought stress immediately after the priming of the defence *** bioristor’s acquired data were coupled with those obtained in a high-throughput phenotyping platform revealing the extreme complementarity of these methods to investigate the mechanisms triggered by the plant during the drought stress event.

Column leaching of lanthanides from Abu Tartur phosphate ore with kinetic study

The dynamic leaching of lanthanides from a west desert phosphate ore, Egypt (Abu Tartur) by hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulfuric acid solutions was investigated in this study as a function of acid concentration, flow rate and the presence of some additives such as boric acid. Extraction equilibria and kinetics of Ti(Ⅳ)from leached chloride liquors of ilmenite

Extraction of titanium（Ⅳ）from real chloride leach liquor of ilmenite was carried out with 0.1 mol L^（-1）di-（2-ethylhexyl）phosphoric acid（HDEHP）in *** and kinetics studies for Ti（Ⅳ）were carried out in the presence of impurities that were leached with Ti（Ⅳ）.Parameters affecting extraction rate of Ti（Ⅳ）from chloride media in the presence of Fe（Ⅲ）,Mg（Ⅱ）,and Al（Ⅲ）were studied to evaluate the stoichiometry of extracted Ti（Ⅳ）*** is found that the extraction rate of Ti（Ⅳ）is dependent on the extractant concentration and pH of *** the optimum conditions,more than 95%Ti（Ⅳ）can be *** the basis of slope analysis method,the extracted species of Ti（Ⅳ）appears to be[TiO（H_2A_2）_2]_（org）,where H_2A_2 refers to ***,the kinetic studies of the extraction process of Ti（Ⅳ）and other metal ion impurities were carried out by a Lewis cell with a constant interfacial area of 16.7 cm^*** of the experimental results suggests that TiO^（2＋）extraction rate by HDEHP is the first with respect to hydrogen ion concentration and HDEHP *** results are interpreted by a reaction mechanism where the extraction process is controlled by a diffusion process at the interface rather than in the bulk phase.

Dietary supplementation of some antioxidants against hypoxia

The present study aims to clarify the protective effect of supplementation with some antioxidants,such as idebenone(200 mg/kg,ip),melatonin(10 mg/kg,ip) and arginine(200 mg/kg,ip) and their combination,on liver function(***,albumin,alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase),energetic parameters(adenosine triphosphate,adenosine diphosphate,adenosine monophosphate,inorganic phosphate,total adenylate,adenylate energy charge and potential phosphate).The effect on glycolytic and glycogenolytic enzymes(glucose,glycogen,glycogen phosphorylase,pyruvate kinase and phosphofructokinase against hypoxia) was also *** drugs were administered 24 and 1 h prior sodium nitrite *** biochemical parameters were estimated 1 h after sodium nitrite *** of sodium nitrite(75 mg/kg,sc) produced a significant disturbance in all biochemical parameters of liver function,energetic parameters and glycolytic and glycogenolytic *** damage was confirmed by histopathological examination of the liver as compared to *** marked changes in hepatic cells induced by sodium nitrite were completely abolished by pretreatment with the drug combination,suggesting potential protection against sodium nitrite-induced *** could be concluded that a combination of both idebenone and melatonin or idebenone and arginine provides potential protection against sodium nitrite-induced hypoxia by improving biochemical parameters and preserving liver histology.

Selenium (IV) vitamin A complex as antioxidant drug design was prepared and characterized by microanalysis, conductance, infrared spectra, Raman laser spectra, 1HNMR spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetric (TG/DTG and DTA) tool of analyses. Vitamin A chelate was coordinated as a mono-dentate ligand through the oxygen atom of –OH hydroxyl group. Thermal degradation analyses discussed the removal of terminal methyl molecules in the first and second decomposition stage while the organic ligand moieties existed in the third and subsequence steps. The Se (IV) complex in comparable with free vitamin A ligand has been assessed against some kinds of bacteria and fungi which gave a significant inhibition. The surface morphology and nano scale size of selenium metal and its vitamin complex were proved. The activation energy and other thermodynamic parameters (ΔH*, ΔS* and ΔG*) of Se (IV) complex were calculated using Coats-Redfern and Horowitz-Metzger equations.

Synthesis, Spectroscopic Studies and X-Ray Diffraction of Heptacoordinated Mn(II) and Co(II) Complexes with Ligands Derived from Carbonohydrazide

The ligand 1-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)carbonohydrazide (H4L1) and 1-(pyridin-2-ylmethylene)carbonohydrazide (H4L2) were prepared by reaction of carbonohydrazide with 2-acetylpyridine or pyridine carbaldehyde respectively in a reflux methanol solution. The complexes are prepared by reaction of the ligand with the appropriate metal salt. These complexes are well characterized by elemental analysis, IR and UV spectroscopies and their structure were determined by single X-ray diffraction technic. In the crystal of the dinuclear complex [Mn2(H4L1)2(H2O)4]·Cl4, 1) each Mn(II) center is seven coordinated by two nitrogen atom and one carbonyl atom of the one ligand and one nitrogen atom and one carbonyl oxygen atom of another ligand molecule. The coordination sphere is completed by two water molecules. Each of the carbonyl oxygen atom acts as bridge between the two Mn(II) centers. In the mononuclear complex [Co(H4L2)(NO3)(H2O)2]·(NO3);2) the Co(II) center is heptacoordinated. The ligand acts in tridentate fashion through two nitrogen atoms and one carbonyl oxygen atom. Two water molecules lie in the apical positions. One nitrate group acts in bidentate manner while the other nitrate group remains uncoordinated. In both complexes the coordination polyhedral are best described as a pentagonal bipyramid. The molecules are linked together in each case by multiple hydrogen bond interaction resulting in a three-dimensional network. The crystallographic data has been deposited in Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre [CCDC No. 1944387 (complex 1) and 1944386 (complex 2)].
