Assessment of landslide susceptibility using DBSCAN-AHD and LD-EV methods

Landslide susceptibility assessment plays a vital role in understanding landslide information in advance and taking preventive as well as control measures. The need to initially specify the number of clusters, difficulty in handling noise and quantifying rainfall data, limits the application of traditional clustering models in landslide susceptibility assessment which then lowers their performance accuracy. Thus, to overcome these limitations, this study proposed an improved clustering algorithm titled the DBSCAN-AHD algorithm, which combines the traditional DBSCAN(Density Based Spatial Clustering of Application with Noise) algorithm and an Adaptive Hausdorff Distance(AHD) for landslide susceptibility modeling. Firstly, AHD was introduced to the traditional DBSCAN to quantify rainfall. Then,the DBSCAN-AHD grouped the mapping units with similar topology and geology characteristics into subclasses without specifying the number of clusters in advance for its ability to handle noise in the ***, the LD-EV(landslide density or eigenvalues) approach was introduced to obtain the susceptibility levels using K-means algorithm. Finally,to verify the model’s performance, statistical indices and the area under the curve(AUC) were applied and compared to the traditional DBSCAN, KPSO, Kmeans and Hierarchical Clustering algorithms,whereby, the proposed model outperformed the others. Also, the obtained susceptibility map can provide references in taking relevant preventive and control measures.

The Miaoershan-Yuechengling complex pluton is the largest granitoid complex in the western Nanling metallogenic belt with a surface exposure of >3000 *** complex pluton is composed of an early stage granitoid batholith and late stage small *** early stage batholith contains mainly medium-grained porphyritic mica granite and porphyritic monzonite granite,whereas the late stage intrusions are composed of muscovite granite porphyry and muscovite monzonitic *** are many W-Sn-Mo-Pb-Zn-Cu ores in the contact zone between the batholith and strata,forming an ore-rich belt around the *** on zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb ages,the southwestern part of the early stage batholith formed at 228.7 ± 4.1 Ma(MSWD = 2.49),with slightly earlier magmatic activity at 243.0 ± 5.8 Ma(MSWD = 2.62).The Yuntoujie muscovite granite was associated with W-Mo mineralization and has a zircon LA-ICP-MS U-Pb age of 216.8 ± 4.9 Ma(MSWD = 1.44).The Re-Os isochron age of molybdenite from the Yuntoujie W-Mo ore was 216.8 ± 7.5 Ma(MSWD = 11.3).Our new isotope data suggest that the late stage intrusive stocks from the southwestern Miaoershan-Yuechengling batholith were closely associated with W-Mo mineralization from the Indosinian *** new results together with previous isotope data,suggest that South China underwent not only the well-known Yanshanian mineralization event,but also a widespread Indosinian metallogenic event during the Mesozoic ***,South China has a greater potential for Indosinian mineralization than previously thought such that more attention should be given to the Indosinian ore prospecting in South China.

A novel robust AE/MS source location method using optimized M-estimate consensus sample

Due to the complexity of the real engineering environment, the arrival measurement inevitably contains outliers and leads to serious location errors. In order to eliminate the influence of the outliers effectively,this paper proposes a novel robust AE/MS source localization method using optimized M-estimate consensus sample. First, a sample subset is selected from the entire arrival set to obtain fitting model and its parameters. Second, consensus set is determined by checking the arrivals with the fitting model instantiated by the estimated model parameters. Third, optimization process is performed to further optimize the consensus set. The above steps are iterated, and the final source coordinates are obtained by using all the elements in the optimal consensus set. The novel method is validated by a pencil-lead breaks experiment. The results indicate that the novel method has better location accuracy of less than 5 mm compared to existing methods, regardless of the presence or absence of outliers. With the increase of outlier scale and outlier ratio, the location result of the proposed method is always more stable and accurate than that of the existing methods. Mine blasting experiments further demonstrate that the new method holds good prospects for engineering applications.

Investigation on and industrial application of degrading of methanol feed in methanol to propylene process

At present, methanol to propylene(MTP) technology developed by Lurgi company is adopted for commercial plants and refined methanol with the purity ≥99.85 wt% is required as the feed of MTP unit in Lurgi's ***, high energy cost for refined methanol production is one of the bottlenecks to improve the economy of MTP technology. Reducing the grade of feed refined methanol may be an effective method to save energy and reduce operation costs in MTP process. In this work, experiments and process simulation were carried out to investigate the influence and feasibility of degrading the methanol feed. Experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of crude methanol feed on conversion and selectivity of MTP reaction as well as the performance of ZSM-5 catalyst. The experimental results showed that degrading the methanol feed had no obvious influence on the conversion and selectivity of MTP reactions and the catalyst deactivation was caused by the carbon accumulation and metals deposition on the active sites. The process simulation results showed that the influence on the conversion and selectivity as well as the stream load of MTP process was negligible if 98 mol% methanol was used as feed. Finally, industrial experiments were conducted by adjusting the operation parameters to degrade of feed methanol of the commercial 500 kt·a^(-1) MTP unit of Ningmei group in China. The results of industrial application illustrated that annually 180 kt fuel coal and 150 kt desalted water as well as 1770 MW·h^(-1) electricity would be saved when the water content increased from 0.01% to 0.4%. This work has identified the feasibility to improve MTP technology by degrading the methanol feed.

Pb,Cu,Cd,Zn content of soil in mining areas and abandoned land,flats of the Pijiang River and farmlands were *** this basis of soil heavy metal pollution,the changes of antioxidant enzyme system in maize(Qiandan 88)under different Pb concentrations(0,20,40,60,80,100,150,200,500,1000,2000,3000 mg/L)stress were *** results show that the content of Pb,Cu,Cd,and Zn in soil is the highest in mining areas and abandoned land,followed by flats of the Pijiang River>farmlands,and that the variation range of Pb,Cu,Cd in mining areas and abandoned land are 106.40-2564.72,14.83-490.88,22.57-712.77 mg/kg,respectively,which are higher than that of the other land use *** maize is under stress of 20-500 mg/L Pb concentration,T-SOD activity of maize leaves increase with the increase of Pb concentration and the highest value is 50.21 U/mg prot,but under Pb concentration>1000 mg/L stress,T-SOD activity of maize leaves decrease *** activity of POD decreases with the increases of Pb concentra-tion,and the lowest POD activity of leaves in maize with the value of 93.24 U/mg prot is appeared in Pb 1000 mg/L concentration treatment *** content in leaves of maize increases with the increase of the Pb concentration and the highest value is 101.98 nmol/mg prot,then the content of MDA decreases gradually when the Pb concentration is more than 500 mg/L,which indicates that the membrane lipid peroxidation of maize leaves under high concentration of Pb stress is serious and leads to the cell damage.

The Dahongliutan granitic pluton,in the eastern part of the West Kunlun orogenic belt,provides significant insights for studying the tectonic evolution of West *** paper presents a systematic study of LA-ICP-MS zircon U Pb age,major and trace elements,Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes,and the first detailed Li isotope analysis of the Dahongliutan ***-ICP-MS zircon U Pb dating shows that the Dahongliutan granites were emplaced in the Late Triassic((213±2.1)Ma).Geochemical data show relatively high SiO2 contents(68.45 wt%73.62 wt%)and aluminum saturation index(A/CNK=1.111.21)indicates peraluminous high-K calc-alkaline *** Dahongliutan granites are relatively high in light rare earth elements(LREE)and large ion lithophile elements(LILEs)(e.g.,Rb,K,Th),and relatively depleted in high field strength elements(HFSEs)(e.g.,Nb,Ta,P,Ti).TheεNd(t)values range from 8.71 to 4.73,and(87Sr/86Sr)i=*** from the pluton yield 176Hf/177Hf values of 0.2826181 to 0.2827683,andεHf(t)values are around 0;the two-stage Hf model ages range from 0.974 to 1.307 ***δ7Li values are 0.76‰3.25‰,with an average of 2.53‰.Isotopic compositions of the pluton suggest a mixed trend between the partial melting of the Middle Proterozoic ancient crustal material and a juvenile mantle-derived *** study infers that the Dahongliutan rock mass is formed in the post-collisional extension environment,when the collision between South Kunlun and the Tianshuihai terranes results in the closure of the *** mantle-derived magma results in partial melting of the lower crust.

The early Paleozoic tectonic framework and evolutionary history of the eastern Central Asian Orogenic Belt(CAOB)is poorly *** we present zircon U-Pb geochronology,whole rock geochemistry,and Sr-NdHf isotope data of the early Paleozoic granitoids in eastern CAOB to investigate the petrogenesis and geodynamic *** early Paleozoic granitoids from the Songnen Block yield zircon U-Pb ages of 523-490 Ma,negative εNd(t)values of-6.7 to-0.8,and values of-8.6 to 7.1,indicating they were generated by partial melting of ancient crustal materials with various degrees of mantle *** generally show affinities to A-type granites,implying their generation from an extensional environment after the collision between the Songnen and Jiamusi *** comparison,the early Paleozoic granitoids from the Xing’an Block have zircon U-Pb ages of 480-465 Ma,εNd(t)values of-5.4 to 5.4,andεHf(t)values of-2.2 to 12.9,indicating a dominated juvenile crustal source with some input of ancient crustal *** belong to I-type granites and were likely related to subduction of the Paleo-Asian *** statistics of TDM2 Hf model ages of the granitoids indicate that the Erguna and Jiamusi blocks contain a significant proportion of Mesoproterozoic crystalline basement,while the Xing’an Block is dominated by a Neoproterozoic *** on these observations,the early Paleozoic evolutionary history of eastern GAOB can be divided into four stages:(1)before 540 Ma,the Erguna,Xing’an,Songnen,and Jiamusi blocks were discrete microcontinents separated by different branches of the Paleo-Asian Ocean;(2)540-523 Ma,the Jiamusi Block collided with the Songnen Block along the Mudanjiang suture;(3)ca.500 Ma,the Erguna Block accreted onto the Xing’an Block along the Xinlin-Xiguitu suture;(4)ca.480 Ma,the Paleo-Asian Ocean started a double-side subduction beneath the united Erguna-Xing’an and Songnen-Jiamusi blocks.
