tobacco black shank caused by Phytophthora parasitica ***(Breda de Hean)is one of the most serious diseases in tobacco growing,and few effective fungicides are available *** purpose of this study was to assess the feasibility of using fluazinam to treat tobacco black shank *** vitro toxicities of fluazinam to 62 isolates of *** were determined by mycelial growth rate *** EC50 values ranged from 0.294 6 to 2.389 9 μg/mL with a mean of 1.084 0 μg/*** sensitivity distribution was unimodal,and there was no resistant isolate in *** *** carboxylic acid amide(CAA)fungicides were single-site in action and activity to *** synergistic interactions were tested by Wadley method between fluazinam and dimethomorph,flumorph,mandipropamid,*** mixture containing dimethomoph:Huazinam at 1:2 ratio showed additive actions,with the synergy ratio of *** mixture containing flumorph and fluazinam at 1:5 ratio had the highest synergy ratio(SR 2.07).Mandipropamid and fluazinam had an additive interaction and the proportion of 2:1 had the lowest EC50 value(0.020 7 μg/mL).This study demonstrated the sensitivity of *** to fluazinam,and provided the experimental foundation to use fluazinam for tobacco black shank management.

Relationship between Glutathione Metabolism and TMV Resistance in tobacco

This study was conducted to explore the relationship between glntathione metabolism and tobacco mosaic vires （TMV） resistance, using a TMV resistant tobacco cultivar Yuyan 8 and another tobacco cuhivar NC89 which has the same genetic background with Yuyan 8 as the experimental materials. Bioinformatics anal- ysis on the transcriptome data obtained from high-throughput sequencing revealed that among pathways enriched with differentially expressed genes, glntathione met- abolic pathway was found in both cultivars infected with TMV, and glntathione metabolism was enhanced in Yuyan 8. We detected the changes in the transcription of glntathione S-transferase （GST） which is a key enzyme in glutathione metabolic pathway with quantitative PER, the enzyme activity of GST and the content of glutathione （GSH） with spectmphotometry, and the expression levels of the genes that are related to TMV resistance or involved in photosynthesis. The results showed that GST gene expression, enzyme activity and GSH content were all increased by TMV infection in both cultivars, and the increments in Yuyan 8 were more significant. The expression of GST and other genes relate to TMV resistance were verified under different sulfur conditions. The results showed that the expression of these genes changed in a similar pattern in the two eultivars after TMV inoculation in both ＋ S and - S treatments, and their expression in - S treatment was slightly lower than in ＋ S treatment. The expression of the four genes related to TMV resistance （GST, PRI-a, HSP90 and Catalase-3） was up-regulated, and was higher in Yuyan 8 than in NC89 after TMV inoculation. On the contrast, the expression of the two genes involved in photosynthesis （ PsbA and Photosystem II 10 kDa polypeptide） were down-regulated, and the decrease in Yuyan 8 was less than in NC89. Threshold of Soil pH for Occurrence of tobacco Bacterial Wilt in henan Province

[Objective]The paper was to study the relationship between spatial distribution characteristics of soil p H and bacterial wilt in tobacco-growing area in henan Province.[Method]The 21 tobacco-growing fields infected by bacterial wilt and 91 tobacco-growing fields with no cases were selected from henan Province,and the pH of fields was determined.[Result]Bacterial wilt mainly occurred in the tobacco-growing fields in Luoshan,Pingqiao,Queshan,Biyang,Suiping,and Xiping,and the soil pH mainly ranged from 5.5 to 6.5(accounted for 84.75%of total surveyed tobacco fields);bacterial wilt had not been found in tobacco-growing fields in Tanghe,Zhengyang,Shangcai,Sheqi,Wuyang and Chenqu,and the soil pH mainly ranged from 6.5 to 7.0(accounted for 81.25%of total surveyed tobacco fields).There were significant differences in soil pH between the fields with and without bacterial wilt,and soil pH 6.5 could be regarded as the threshold for the occurrence of tobacco bacterial wilt in henan *** was extremely significantly positive linear correlation between soil p H and latitude(y=0.7375 x-17.799,R2=0.386,Ptobacco-growing areas of the boundary.[Conclusion]The study will provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of tobacco bacterial wilt in henan.

Slag Characteristics of Biomass Pellet Fuels with Different Additives to tobacco-Stalk for tobacco Curing Heating

Since pure tobacco stalk(TS)biomass pellet fuels tend to slag,five anti-slagging agents were added to the crushed TS to obtain a pellet fuel that could be used in biomass burners to provide heat for tobacco *** obtained results revealed that the main component of TS pellet fuel was K_(2)Si_(2)O_(5).During fuel combustion process,additives generated higher melting point silicate compounds by Al–K,Ca–K,and Ca–K elemental structures to replace single K elemental structure of TS,enhancing the anti-slagging efficiency of the pellet fuel from 21.63%to 78.29%and promoting the precipitation of K,Mg,and Na elements in the slag *** investigating the anti-slagging mechanism pathways of the additives in TS biomass pellet fuels,altering of the structure of silicate ion group pathway was found to improve anti-slagging effects that met the requirements of production formula.

Effects of Transplanting Date on Growth, Development, Yield and Quality of Flue-cured tobacco in Western henan

With Yunyan 87 as an experimental material, the effects of different transplanting dates on the growth and development of tobacco plants and the yield and quality of cured tobacco leaves were studied in Lingbao City, Sanmenxia City. With the postponement of transplanting date, the growth period in field was prolonged, and the plant height and leaf area both increased at first and decreased then. TMV, weather fleck and brown spot all showed an incidence and a disease index decreased with the postponement of transplanting date. The total sugar and reducing sugar contents of the cured tobacco leaves from the upper and middle part increased at first and decreased then with the postponement of transplanting date. The main nitrogenous compounds decreased at first and increased then. The economic traits and leaf class were on the decrease.

Effects of Early Infection of tobacco Mosaic Virus on Photosynthetic Proteins and Its Control

[Objectives] This study was conducted to explore the optimal period of TMV control and the physiological sites that interfere with TMV infection. [Methods] Proteome analysis was performed on the host tissues(tobacco plants) at different time periods of viral infection, to verify the changes in the expression of differential protein genes and N and PR1-a in the photosynthetic pathway and porphyrin metabolism and chlorophyll metabolism pathways in proteome; and the tobacco plants were treated with different preparations. [Results] The expression levels of N and PR1-a in the tobacco leaves treated with preparation B reached the highest level, and the effects on the expression levels of the differential protein genes were also the most significant. The control effects of the preparations were tested by the half-leaf method, and the results showed that preparation B had a significant control effect against the early infection of the virus.[Conclusions] This study lays a foundation for the prevention and control of tobacco mosaic virus on crops.

Defoliation in Flue-cured tobacco and Its Reasons

The flue-cured tobacco G80 is not only one of the characteristic varieties in Changsha, but also indispensable raw materials for the series of Baisha ciga- rette. Defoliation during the late stage of growth seriously reduces the yield and quality of tobacco, and limits the popularization and application of G80. In this pa- per, in order to investigate the reasons for the defoliation of G80, the transverse section structure, cellulose content and differential proteins of leaf major veins were analyzed. The results revealed that the autolysis and collapse of parenchyma cells is the main cause of defoliation, and fimgal infection is a factor inducing the au- tolysis of parenchyma cells. Application of bud suppression agent is one of the main ways to prevent fungal infection. The low cellulose content, low synthetic ability of xylan and pectin, the low removal ability of abnormal protein and low immune responsiveness are the inner reason for defoliation of flue-cured tobacco G80.

This paper presents an approach for designing parameters of power system stabilizer(PSS)and FACTS damping controllers in a large scale practical power *** objective is maximizing damping ratio of the target mode,and tracking technology(MTT)is used to avoid frequent alternations of target mode in optimization *** improved planted growth simulation algorithm(IPGSA),which has high search efficiency and quick convergence speed,is proposed to optimize controller parameters *** on case study of a large-scale power grid,and by using local and interregional low-frequency oscillation modes as target modes,simulation results verify proposed method in this ***,coordination optimization strategy adapted to multi-operating conditions demonstrates that the proposed approach is robust.

Drought is a major environmental factor that limits crop growth and productivity. Flue-cured tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum) is one of the most important commercial crops worldwide and its productivity is vulnerable to drought. However, comparative analyses of physiological, biochemical and gene expression changes in flue-cured tobacco varieties differing in drought tolerance under long-term drought stress are scarce. In this study, drought stress responses of two flue-cured tobacco varieties, LJ851 and JX6007, were comparatively studied at the physiological and transcriptional levels. After exposing to progressive drought stress, the drought-tolerant LJ851 showed less growth inhibition and chlorophyll reduction than the drought-sensitive JX6007. Moreover, higher antioxidant enzyme activities and lower levels of H2 O2, MDA, and electrolyte leakage after drought stress were found in LJ851 when compared with JX6007. Further analysis showed that LJ851 plants had much less reductions than the JX6007 in the net photosynthesis rate and stomatal conductance during drought stress;indicating that LJ851 had better photosynthetic performance than JX6007 during drought. In addition, transcriptional expression analysis revealed that LJ851 exhibited significantly increased transcripts of several categories of drought-responsive genes in leaves and roots under drought conditions. Together, these results indicated that LJ851 was more drought-tolerant than JX6007 as evidenced by better photosynthetic performance, more powerful antioxidant system, and higher expression of stress defense genes during drought stress. This study will be valuable for the development of novel flue-cured tobacco varieties with improved drought tolerance by exploitation of natural genetic variations in the future.
