1. The connotation and characteristics of crowd intelligence The reason that human beings have evolved to such an advanced level today lies not only in the increase in individual knowledge but also in the structural progress of crowds [1]. Given the importance of the latter, since the late 20th century, researchers have begun to explore management and calculation methods related to crowd intelligence [2], such as the multiagent system,distributed collaboration, and open-source platform.

Phosphate-dependent regulation of vacuolar trafficking of OsSPX-MFSs is critical for maintaining intracellular phosphate homeostasis in rice

Vacuolar storage of inorganic phosphate(Pi)is essential for Pi homeostasis in plants.The SPX-MFS family proteins have been demonstrated to be vacuolar Pi transporters in many plant species.Transcriptional regulation of the predominant transporter among rice SPX-MFSs,OsSPX-MFS3,was only moderately suppressed by Pi starvation.Thus,post-transcriptional mechanisms were hypothesized to regulate the activity of OsSPX-MFS3.In this study,we found that the tonoplast localization of OsSPX-MFSs is inhibited under Pi-depleted conditions,resulting in their retention in the pre-vacuolar compartments(PVCs).A yeast two-hybrid screen identified that two SNARE proteins,OsSYP21 and OsSYP22,interact with the MFS domain of OsSPX-MFS3.Further genetic and cytological analyses indicate that OsSYP21 and OsSYP22 facilitate trafficking of OsSPX-MFS3 from PVCs to the tonoplast.Although a homozygous frameshift mutation in OsSYP22 appeared to be lethal,tonoplast localization of OsSPX-MFS3 was significantly inhibited in transgenic plants expressing a negative-dominant form of OsSYP22(OsSYP22-ND),resulting in reduced vacuolar Pi concentrations in OsSYP22-ND plants.Under Pi-depleted conditions,the interaction between OsSYP22 and OsSPX-MFS3 was disrupted,and this process depended on the presence of the SPX domain.Deleting the SPX domains of OsSPX-MFSs resulted in their tonoplast localization under both Pi-depleted and Pi-replete conditions.Complementation of the osspx-mfs1/2/3 triple mutants with the MFS domain or the SPX domain of OsSPX-MFS3 confirmed that the MFS and SPX domains are responsive to Pi transport activity and Pi-dependent regulation,respectively.These data indicated that the SPX domains of OsSPX-MFSs sense cellular Pi(InsP)levels and,under Pi-depleted conditions,inhibit the interaction between OsSPX-MFSs and OsSYP21/22 and subsequent trafficking of OsSPX-MFSs from PVCs to the tonoplast.

Sequential Document Visualization Based on Hierarchical Parametric Histogram Curves

Recently, sequential document visualization has attracted much attention for its superior capability in depicting the sequential semantic progression in a single document. However, existing methods commonly take abstractive visual forms such as texts, numbers, and glyphs, and require much user expertise for document exploration. In this paper we propose a sequential visualization to represent a single document with a two- dimensional picture-based storyline, which semantically enhances the comprehension of textual information. We introduce a new parametric modeling approach called the Hierarchical Parametric Histogram Curve （HPHC）, which encodes the statistical progression locally and adaptively. By transforming an HPHC into the two-dimensional space with a new locality-preserving embedding algorithm, we create a mapping from points along the curve to descriptive pictures and generate the visualization result. The new representation expresses the primary content with a graphical form, and allows for efficient multi-resolution and focus＋context exploration in a long document. Our approach compares favorably with previous work in that it is more intuitive and requires less user expertise. Informal evaluation shows that it is useful in quick document browsing, communication, and understanding, especially for people with low literacy skills.

SideKnot:Edge Bundling for Uncovering Relation Patterns in Graphs

The node-link diagram is an intuitive way to depict a graph and present relationships between entities. Addressing the visual clutter induced by edge crossing and node-edge overlapping is a challenging task as the size of graph outgrows the visualization space. Many edge bundling methods are proposed to disclose high-level edge patterns. Though previous methods can successfully reveal the skeleton graph structure, the relation patterns at the individual node level can be overlooked. In addition, most edge bundling algorithms are computationally complex, which prevents them from scaling up for extremely large graphs. In this article, we extend SideKnot, an efficient edge bundling method to cluster and knot edges at the node side. Our proposed method is light, runs faster than most existing algorithms, and can reveal the relation patterns at the individual node level. Our results show that SideKnot can disclose a node＇s standing in the graph as well as the directional connection patterns to its peers.

Organic-inorganic hybrid metal halide perovskites(MHPs)have attracted tremendous attention for optoelectronic applications.The long photocarrier lifetime and moderate carrier mobility have been proposed as results of the large polaron formation in MHPs.However,it is challenging to measure the effective mass and carrier scattering parameters of the photogenerated large polarons in the ultrafast carrier recombination dynamics.Here,we show,in a one-step spectroscopic method,that the optical-pump and terahertz-electromagnetic probe(OPTP)technique allows us to access the nature of interplay of photoexcited unbound charge carriers and optical phonons in polycrystalline CH_(3)NH_(3)PbI_(3)(MAPbI_(3))of about 10μm grain size.Firstly,we demonstrate a direct spectral evidence of the large polarons in polycrystalline MAPbI_(3).Using the Drude-Smith-Lorentz model along with the Frӧhlich-type electron-phonon(e-ph)coupling,we determine the effective mass and scattering parameters of photogenerated polaronic carriers.We discover that the resulting moderate polaronic carrier mobility is mainly influenced by the enhanced carrier scattering,rather than the polaron mass enhancement.While,the formation of large polarons in MAPbI_(3)polycrystalline grains results in a long charge carrier lifetime at room temperature.Our results provide crucial information about the photo-physics of MAPbI3 and are indispensable for optoelectronic device development with better performance.

In the process industry,operator training is a vital activity to avoid catastrophic accidents caused by human error.Once an operation training system(OTS) is established,the most urgent task is the assessment of the operator’s ability.An appropriate,thorough feedback and evaluation are of great importance to ensure that process operators are able to identify and fill gaps in their competency or learn new practices.This paper designs a multi-dimensional operation skill evaluation algorithm(MDOSEA) for central control room(CCR) operators in air separation process.MDOSEA obtains benchmarks for skill evaluation and analysis by collecting model-based machine operation data.It evaluates operators’ skills from four performance indicators,and automatically provides feedback on skill improvement.We applied MDOSEA to the evaluation and analysis of load change operation in air separation process.The industrial application in vocational skill competition shows that the proposed algorithm can reflect the skills of operators,distinguish different operating skills,and accelerate the learning curve.
