Solid-state lithium batteries(SSLBs)are regarded as an essential growth path in energy storage systems due to their excellent safety and high energy *** particular,SSLBs using conversion-type cathode materials have received widespread attention because of their high theoretical energy densities,low cost,and *** the great progress in research and development of SSLBs based on conversiontype cathodes,their practical applications still face challenges such as blocked ionic-electronic migration pathways,huge volume change,interfacial incompatibility,and expensive processing *** review focuses on the advantages and critical issues of coupling conversion-type cathodes with solid-state electrolytes(SSEs),as well as state-of-the-art progress in various promising cathodes(e.g.,FeS_(2),CuS,FeF_(3),FeF_(2),and S)in ***,representative research on conversion-type solid-state full cells is discussed to offer enlightenment for their practical ***,the energy density exhibited by the S cathode stands out impressively,while sulfide SSEs and halide SSEs have demonstrated immense potential for coupling with conversion-type ***,perspectives on conversion-type cathodes are provided at the material,interface,composite electrode,and battery levels,with a view to accelerating the development of conversion-type cathodes for high-energy–density SSLBs.

Reducing the cost of RuO_(2)/TiO_(2)catalysts is still one of the urgent challenges in catalytic HCl *** the present work,a Ce-doped TiO_(2)supported RuO_(2)catalyst with a low Ru loading was developed,showing a high activity in the catalytic oxidation of HCl to Cl_(2).The results on some extensive characterizations of both Ce-doped TiO_(2)carriers and their supported RuO_(2)catalysts show that the doping of Ce into TiO_(2)can effectively change the lattice parameters of TiO_(2)to improve the dispersion of the active RuO_(2)species on the carrier,which facilitates the production of surface Ru species to expose more active sites for boosting the catalytic performance even under some harsh reaction *** work provides some scientific basis and technical support for chlorine recycling.

Impacts of land use and planning on island ecosystem service values: a case study of Dinghai District on Zhoushan Archipelago, China

Recently designated as a new special economic zone in China,Zhoushan Archipelago is going through a rapid land use change that is expected to have significant impacts on ecosystem ***,there is no baseline of ecosystem service value(ESV)of the Zhoushan Archipelago up to date,making it impossible to assess any impacts of land use *** this study,we adopted the concept of“equivalent value per unit area of ecosystem services in China”and computed the ESV for 2006,2012,and 2020 of a representative district,Dinghai,on the Zhoushan *** then analyzed the spatial and temporal patterns of land use changes and their impacts on *** results indicated that the ESV of Dinghai District declined by 59.3 M Chinese yuan($9.5 M US dollars)from 2006 to 2012 and would further decrease by an additional 30.9 M yuan($5 M US dollars)by 2020 according to its planned land *** declines in ESV were primarily due to increases in buildup areas and losses in wetland,farmland,and water *** results imply that more attention should be paid to controlling urban growth and protecting coastal wetlands in order to preserve valuable ecosystem services of the Archipelago.

Impacts of cloud radiative processes on the convective and stratiform rainfall associated with Typhoon Fitow(2013)

The three-dimensional Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model was used to conduct sensitivity experiments during the landfall of Typhoon Fitow(2013)to examine the impacts of cloud radiative processes on thermal *** vertical profiles of heat budgets,vertical velocity,and stability were analyzed to examine the physical processes responsible for cloud radiative effects on surface rainfall for Typhoon Fitow(2013).The inclusion of clouds reduced radiative cooling in ice and liquid cloud layers by reducing outgoing *** suppressed radiative cooling reduced from the ice cloud layers to liquid cloud *** was conducive to reducing *** decreased instability was associated with the reduced upward *** reduced upward motion led to a decreased vertical mass ***,heat divergence was weakened to warm the *** with suppressed radiative cooling,these effects jointly suppressed net condensation and ***,the reduced rainfall due to the cloud radiative effects were mainly associated with the reduced convective and stratiform *** reduced convective rainfall was associated with the reduced net condensation,while the reduced stratiform rainfall was related to the constraint of hydrometeor convergence.

Environmental endocrine disruptors,represented by bisphenol A(BPA),have been widely detected in the environment,bringing potential health risks to human ***-containing biocarbon catalyst can activate peroxymonosulfate(PMS)to degrade BPA in water,but its active sites remain ***,in this work,nitrogen-containing biochar,i.e.,C–Nedge,enriched with graphitic-N defects at the edges was prepared by one-pot co-pyrolysis of chitosan and potassium *** results showed that the C–Nedge/PMS system can effectively degrade 98%of BPA(50 mg/L).The electron transfer based non-radical oxidation mechanism was responsible for BPA *** graphitic-N doping endows biochar with strong electron transfer *** catalyst had good recovery and reuse *** catalytic oxidation was also feasible for other refractory pollutants removal and worked well for treating practical *** work may provide valuable information in unraveling the N doping configurationactivity relationship during activating PMS by biochar.

In agroecosystems,plants are constantly exposed to attack from diverse herbivorous insects and microbes,and infestation with one species may change the plant defense response to other *** our investigation of the relationships among rice plants,the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens(Stål)and the rice blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae,we observed a significant increase in the resistance of rice treated with rice blast to ***,as evidenced by improved plant survival rates in a small population resistance *** transcriptome data analysis revealed that the rice blast fungus can induce the expression of genes in the jasmonic acid(JA)and flavonoid *** to the flavonoid pathway,the JA pathway also contains 2 types of genes that exhibit similar and opposite trends in response to *** and rice *** these genes,the osjaz1 mutant and the osmyc2 mutant were phenotypically confirmed to positively and negatively regulate rice resistance to *** and rice blast,*** mass spectrometry and quantification experiments showed that the exogenous application of methyl jasmonate(MeJA)can induce the accumulation of eriodictyol,naringenin and quercetin,as well as the expression of OsF3H,Os4CL5 and OsCHI in the flavonoid *** suggests a close connection between the JA pathway and the flavonoid ***,OsF3'H,which negatively regulates rice resistance to *** and rice blast,did not show increased *** and molecular experiments confirmed that OsMYC2 can bind to and inhibit the expression of OsF3'H,thus revealing the mechanism of rice resistance to *** after treatment with rice *** findings will deepen our understanding of the interactions among rice,*** and rice blast.

Assessment of total suspended sediment concentrations in Poyang Lake using HJ-1A/1B CCD imagery

We explored the potential of the environment and disaster monitoring and forecasting small satellite constellations (HJ-1A/1B satellites) charge-coupled device (CCD) imagery (spatial resolution of 30 m, revisit time of 2 days) in the monitoring of total suspended sediment (TSS) concentrations in dynamic water bodies using Poyang Lake, the largest freshwater lake in China, as an example. Field surveys conducted during October 17-26, 2009 showed a wide range of TSS concentration (3-524 mg/L). Atmospheric correction was implemented using the Fast Line-of-sight Atmospheric Analysis of Spectral Hypercubes (FLAASH) module in ENVI with the aid of aerosol information retrieved from concurrent Terra/Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) surveys, which worked well at the CCD bands with relatively high reflectance. A practical exponential retrieval algorithm was created between satellite remote sensing reflectance and in-situ measured TSS concentration. The retrieved results for the whole water area matched the in-situ data well at most stations. The retrieval errors may be related to the problem of scale matching and mixed pixel. In three selected subregions of Poyang Lake, the distribution trend of retrieved TSS was consistent with that of the field investigation. It was shown that HJ-1A/1B CCD imagery can be used to estimate TSS concentrations in Poyang Lake over synoptic scales after applying an appropriate atmospheric correction method and retrieval algorithm.

Although the urban heat island(UHI) is a well-documented phenomenon, relatively little information in the literature is available about its impact on summer extreme heat event(EHE). As UHI is characterized by increased temperature, it can potentially increase the magnitude and duration of EHEs within cities. Based on daily maximum temperature records from 62 observation stations in zhejiang province from the period 1971-2011 and satellite-measured nighttime light imagery from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program(DMSP) Operational Linescan System(OLS) during 1992-2010, we analyzed the long-term change of summer EHEs and its association with the rapid urbanization process. The results could be concluded as follows:(1) zhejiang has experienced rapid urbanization and dramatic growth in urban areas in the past two decades, especially after 2000.(2) The summer mean maximum temperature and the 95 th percentile of summer daily maximum temperature in most of its stations have increased, with the most significant increase occurring in the highly urbanized areas including the city belt around Hangzhou Bay, Taizhou-Wenzhou and Jinghua-Yiwu city belts.(3) The hot days and hot-day degrees, defined by both daily 95 th percentile and the threshold of 35℃, show that the UHI effect causes additional hot days and heat stress in urban stations compared to rural *** results in this study suggest that the UHI effect should be determined and incorporated in preparing high temperature forecasts in cities.

Optimizing large optical contrast in Ge-Se-Te films via high-throughput method

Chalcogenide phase-change materials（PCMs） have attracted great attentions due to their potential applications in reconfigurable photonic devices. The Ge2Sb2Te5and GeTe PCMs exhibit significant difference in refractive index（Δn） between amorphous and crystalline states, but they suffer from high optical loss. The binary Sb2S3and Sb2Se3PCMs, however, show low optical loss but small Δn. This encourages us to develop the novel materials,which are desired to combine large Δn and low optical loss. Instead of traditional trial-and-error screening method, we here used an efficient high-throughput method to optimize the PCMs' candidates for reconfigurable photonic devices in Ge-Se-Te chalcogenides. The crystallization temperature and difference in optical bandgap were detected, and then the component of Ge25Se7Te68, which also exhibits ultralow optical loss of 1.2 × 10-6（in amorphous state） and large Δn of 1.32 at 1550 nm, was optimized. This Te-rich Ge-Se-Te film can be a candidate for the applications of programmable reconfigurable photonic circuits.

Objective To explore and quantify the association of hot night exposure during the sperm development period(0–90 lag days) with semen *** A total of 6,640 male sperm donors from 6 human sperm banks in China during 2014–2020were recruited in this multicenter *** indices(i.e.,hot night excess [HNE] and hot night duration[HND]) were used to estimate the heat intensity and duration during *** mixed models were used to examine the association between hot nights and semen quality *** The exposure-response relationship revealed that HNE and HND during 0–90 days before semen collection had a significantly inverse association with sperm ***,a 1 ℃ increase in HNE was associated with decreased sperm progressive motility of 0.0090(95% confidence interval[CI]:–0.0147,–0.0033) and decreased total motility of 0.0094(95% CI:–0.0160,–0.0029).HND was significantly associated with reduced sperm progressive motility and total motility of 0.0021(95% CI:–0.0040,–0.0003) and 0.0023(95% CI:–0.0043,–0.0002),*** results were observed at different temperature thresholds on hot *** Our findings highlight the need to mitigate nocturnal heat exposure during spermatogenesis to maintain optimal semen quality.
