Almost all living organisms exhibit autonomic oscillatory activities,which are primarily generated by the rhythmic activities of their neural *** nonlinear oscillator models have been proposed to elucidate these neural behaviors and subsequently applied to the domain of robot ***,the oscillation patterns generated by these models are often unpredictable and need to be obtained through parameter *** study introduces a mathematical model that can be used to analyze multiple neurons connected through fast inhibitory *** characteristic of this oscillator is that its stationary point is stable,but the location of the stationary point changes with the system *** through reasonable topology and threshold parameter selection can the oscillation be *** study analyzed the conditions for stable oscillation in two-neuron networks and three-neuron networks,and obtained the basic rules of the phase relationship of the oscillator network established by this *** addition,this study also introduces synchronization mechanisms into the model to enable it to be synchronized with the sensing ***,this study used these theories to establish a robot single leg joint angle generation *** experimental results showed that the simulated robot could achieve synchronization with human motion,and had better control effects compared to traditional oscillators.

PointNetV3:feature extraction with position encoding

Feature extraction of point clouds is a fundamental component of three-dimensional(3D)vision *** existing feature extraction networks primarily focus on enhancing the geometric perception abilities of networks and overlook the crucial role played by *** instance,though two airplane wings share the same shape,it demands distinct feature representations due to their differing *** this paper,we introduce a novel module called position aware module(PAM)to leverage the coordinate features of points for positional encoding,and integrating this encoding into the feature extraction network to provide essential positional ***,we embed PAM into the Point Net++framework,and design a novel feature extraction network,named Point Net *** validate the effectiveness of Point Net V3,we conducted comprehensive experiments including classification,object tracking and object detection on point *** results of remarkable improvement in three tasks demonstrate the exceptional performance achieved by Point Net V3 in point cloud processing.

Single-step-etched ultra-compact metamaterial grating coupler enabled by a hierarchical inverse design approach

With the concept of metamaterials introduced into integrated photonics,subwavelength structures have gained popularity for their ability to create devices with ultra-compact size,high performance,and versatile ***,traditional metamaterial design methods are usually based on empirical templates and physical approximations,lacking the ability to design free-form metamaterial structures and optimize entire devices *** this work,we propose a hierarchical inverse design approach that combines a conventional effective refractive index based metamaterial structures design with a follow-up global topology *** empirical metamaterial grating coupler design based on effective refractive index engineering faces inaccurate index extraction and insufficient approximation of wavevector matching conditions,which deteriorates coupling efficiency,especially for fully-etched devices with the decreased tapering ***,a subsequent overall topology optimization step can well compensate for the negative effect of the shrinking device footprint to increase the efficiency of the metamaterial grating *** demonstrate a 23μm×10μm ultra-compact metamaterial grating coupler with single-stepetched to couple light between a fiber and a 500 nm single-mode silicon waveguide in the *** measurement shows an insertion loss of 3.17 dB and a 3 dB bandwidth of 77 nm,making it the smallest footprint device ever reported.

Information-Theoretic Limits on Compression of Semantic Information

As conventional communication systems based on classic information theory have closely approached Shannon capacity,semantic communication is emerging as a key enabling technology for the further improvement of communication ***,it is still unsettled on how to represent semantic information and characterise the theoretical limits of semantic-oriented compression and *** this paper,we consider a semantic source which is characterised by a set of correlated random variables whose joint probabilistic distribution can be described by a Bayesian *** give the information-theoretic limit on the lossless compression of the semantic source and introduce a low complexity encoding method by exploiting the conditional *** further characterise the limits on lossy compression of the semantic source and the upper and lower bounds of the rate-distortion *** also investigate the lossy compression of the semantic source with two-sided information at the encoder and decoder,and obtain the corresponding rate distortion *** prove that the optimal code of the semantic source is the combination of the optimal codes of each conditional independent set given the side information.

Backgrounds:Tannic acid(TA),as a plant-derived phenolic substance,is involved in regulating the activity of starch digestive enzymes,but its underlying mechanism remains *** and Results:In the present study,inhibition rate and inhibition kinetics assays were performed and confrmed that TA had a strong inhibitory effect on bothα-amylase andα-glucosidase with IC50 values of 0.1585 mg/mL and 0.00542 mg/mL,respectively,through a mixed inhibition *** secondary structures of both enzymes were confrmed to be modifed by TA through circular dichroism(CD)*** quenching analysis revealed that the interaction between TA and two enzymes was a static process of pontaneous complex ***,molecular docking revealed that non-covalent bonds were the main interaction forces between TA and both ***:Thus,TA was a promising candidate for the inhibition of starch-digesting enzymes,and the present research provided insight into postprandial glucose regulation through polyphenols.

Prediction of cell-cell communication patierns of dorsal root ganglion cells: single-cell RNA sequencing data analysis

Dorsal root ganglion neurons transmit peripheral somatic information to the central nervous system, and dorsal root ganglion neuron excitability affects pain perception. Dorsal root ganglion stimulation is a new approach for managing pain sensation. Knowledge of the cell-cell communication among dorsal root ganglion cells may help in the development of new pain and itch management strategies. Here, we used the single-cell RNA-sequencing(scRNA-seq) database to investigate intercellular communication networks among dorsal root ganglion cells. We collected scRNA-seq data from six samples from three studies, yielding data on a total of 17,766 cells. Based on genetic profiles, we identified satellite glial cells, Schwann cells, neurons, vascular endothelial cells, immune cells, fibroblasts, and vascular smooth muscle cells. Further analysis revealed that eight types of dorsal root ganglion neurons mediated proprioceptive, itch, touch, mechanical, heat, and cold sensations. Moreover, we predicted several distinct forms of intercellular communication among dorsal root ganglion cells, including cell-cell contact, secreted signals, extracellular matrix, and neurotransmitter-mediated signals. The data mining predicted that Mrgpra3-positive neurons robustly express the genes encoding the adenosine Adora2b(A2B) receptor and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor family receptor alpha 1(GFRα-1). Our immunohistochemistry results confirmed the coexpression of the A2B receptor and GFRα-1. Intrathecal injection of the A2B receptor antagonist PSB-603 effectively prevented histamine-induced scratching behaviour in a dose-dependent manner. Our results demonstrate the involvement of the A2B receptor in the modulation of itch sensation. Furthermore, our findings provide insight into dorsal root ganglion cell-cell communication patterns and mechanisms. Our results should contribute to the development of new strategies for the regulation of dorsal root ganglion excitability.

A novel AgNPs/MOF substrate-based SERS sensor for high-sensitive on-site detection of wheat gluten

Gluten,known as the major allergen in wheat,has gained increasing concerns in industrialized countries,resulting in an urgent need for accurate,high-sensitive,and on-site detection of wheat gluten in complex food ***,we proposed a silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)/metal-organic framework(MOF)substrate-based surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)sensor for the high-sensitive on-site detection of wheat *** detection occurred on the newly in-situ synthesized AgNPs/MOF-modified SERS substrate,providing an enhancement factor(EF)of 1.89×10^(5).Benefitting from the signal amplification function of AgNPs/MOF and the superiority of SERS,this sensor represented high sensitivity performance and a wide detection range from 1×10^(-15)mol/L to 2×10^(-6)mol/L with a detection limit of 1.16×10^(-16)mol/L,which allowed monitoring the trace of wheat gluten in complex food system without matrix *** reliable sandwich SERS sensor may provide a promising platform for high-sensitive,accurate,and on-site detection of allergens in the field of food safety.

High-sensitivity intelligent packaging films harnessing rose anthocyanins and hydrophilic silica aerogel for visual food freshness monitoring

The enhancement of the sensitivity for anthocyanin-based indicator films in food freshness monitoring in real time is important for *** this study,hydrophilic silica aerogel(SiO2 NA)was incorporated into corn starch(CS)/chitosan(CH)/rose anthocyanins(RACNs)-encapsulated potato amylopectin nanoparticles(APNPs)composite film to increase the sensitivity for shrimp freshness *** microstructure of films revealed that the gas absorption capacity was improved by amorphous SiO2 NA via hydrogen *** pore size(1.74–5.60 times),pore volume(3.92–5.60 times),and specific surface area(2.21–2.34 times)of films increased with the addition of SiO2 *** sensing of NH3 and pH and the reversibility of films were also ***,the pH-responsive films containing SiO2 NA changed visibly in color from purple–red to orange–gray and finally to gray,enabling effective monitoring of shrimp freshness during storage at 4°***,anthocyanin-based indicator films with improved sensitivity by adding SiO2 NA were successfully designed for monitoring shrimp freshness.

Comparison of the hygrothermal performance of two light-framed timber structure buildings under different operation modes

Light-framed timber structure(LTS)buildings have been highly valued in recent years due to their low-carbon ***,the applicability of the building envelope is closely related to indoor and outdoor *** hot summer and cold winter(HSCW)climate zone in China has high humidity and great temperature variation throughout the year,resulting in distinct outdoor environments in different *** indoor environment is greatly affected by energy-consumption patterns and window-opening habits,which largely depend upon the regulation operations of *** these interrelated factors lead to extremely complex boundary conditions on each side of the building *** the structures of LTS buildings are applicable in this climate zone,therefore,needs to be carefully *** this study,two LTS buildings with different envelopes were established in Haining,China,situated in the HSCW climate zone,and selected as the study *** operation modes were adopted to create a variety of indoor *** each condition,the processes of heat and moisture transfer within the building envelopes and the indoor environment were monitored and *** comparison indicated that the building envelope with high moisture storage and insulation ability maintained a relatively stable indoor environment,especially when the environment changed ***,if the outdoor environment was equable(e.g.,relative humidity within the range of 30%–60%)or intermittent energy consumption modes were adopted,the building envelope with a low thermal inertia index and weak moisture-buffering ability performed better because it enabled a faster response of the indoor environment to air ***,a high risk of moisture accumulation between the thermal insulation layer and other materials with a large water vapour transfer resistance factor was also identified,suggesting a higher requirement for the vapour insulation of the env

Dynamic impact properties of deep sandstone under thermal-hydraulicmechanical coupling loads
