Preparation of Tartary Buckwheat Seed Coating Agent and Its Effect on Germination

To mitigate the wastage of seed resources and reduce the usage of pesticides and fertilizers, seed coating agentshave gained popularity. This study employs single-factor and multi-index orthogonal experimental design methodsto investigate the seed coating formula and physical properties of Tartary buckwheat. The specific effects ofeach component on Tartary buckwheat seed germination are analyzed. The findings reveal that the seed coatingagent formulated with 1.5% polyvinyl alcohol, 0.15% sodium alginate, 0.2% op-10, 0.1% polyacrylamide, 8% colorant,3% ammonium sulfate, 1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and 0.15% carbendazim exhibits the mosteffective coating. It demonstrates optimal physical properties and promotes seed germination efficiently. The suspensionrate of this seed coating agent reaches 91.12%, with a mere 2.13% coating shedding rate and 2.5% coatingseed rot rate. Furthermore, it achieves a germination percentage of 99.17%, which is 20.84% higher than the lowestgroup. The germination potential and index are also significantly higher than the lowest group, with anincrease of 20.84% and 26.56%, respectively. Additionally, the vitality index is 553.08, a 15.75% increase comparedto the lowest group. The application of seed coating agents helps reduce seed resource loss, increase plant numbers,and ultimately enhance agricultural yields. This finding holds practical significance in agriculturalproduction.

With the focus of highway development transitioning from construction to maintenance,a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics and influencing factors of carbon dioxide(CO_(2))emissions from highway maintenance activities is crucial for formulating effective strategies to promote the low-carbon development of road ***,the quantitative relationships between CO_(2) emissions from highway maintenance schemes and factors such as pavement deterioration,traffic volume,and road grade remain unclear owing to a lack of compre-hensive,multi-category,and real *** real maintenance data from 340 arterial highway segments in China,this study conducts the life cycle assessment(LCA)to estimate CO_(2) emissions from maintenance activities and examines the primary emission sources among various structural layers and ***,multiple linear regression(MLR)analysis is conducted to investigate the impact of traffic volume,road grade,and pavement deterioration on CO_(2) emissions from maintenance projects,and factors influencing the early-stage degradation of pavement *** results demonstrate that average CO_(2) emissions from heavy rehabilitation projects are 6.97 times higher than those from medium rehabilitation *** from heavy rehabilitation projects exhibit a significantly negative linear relationship with the riding quality index(RQI)before maintenance(p<0.05),and emissions from medium rehabilitation projects show a significant negative linear relationship with the pavement condition index(PCI)before maintenance(p<0.05).Emissions from heavy and medium rehabilitation projects are significantly positively correlated with heavy vehicle traffic volume before maintenance(p<0.05).Moreover,the early-stage degradation of PCI after heavy rehabilitation and RQI after medium rehabilitation exhibit significantly negative linear relationships with their respective in-dicators before maintenance(p<0.05).The early-stage d

Agro-climatic adaptation of cropping systems under climate change in Shanghai

Climate change affects the heat and water resources required by agriculture, thus shifting cropping rotation and intensity. Shanghai is located in the Taihu Lake basin, a transition zone for various cropping systems. In the basin, moderate climate changes can cause major shifts in cropping intensity and rotation. In the present study, we integrated observational climate data, one regional climate model, land use maps, and agricultural statistics to analyze the relationship between heat resources and multi-cropping potential in Shanghai. The results of agro-climatic assessment showed that climate change over the past 50 years has significantly enhanced regional agro- climatic resources, rendering a shift from double cropping to triple cropping possible. However, a downward trend is evident in the actual multi-cropping index, caused principally by the increasing costs of farming and limitations in the supply of labor. We argue that improving the utilization rate of the enhanced agro-climatic resources is possible by introducing new combinations of cultivars, adopting more laborsaving technologies, and providing incentives to farmers.

Effects of rainfall on the weekday traffic flow in major cities of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, China, in 2021

Rainfall can bring uncertainties to the traffic flow and influence the normal function of urban transportation *** impact of precipitation on the urban traffic flow,especially the different impacts among cities and areas within a city,is worth ***,we analysed the impact of precipitation on the traffic flow in the urban areas of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by comparing the traffic flow in non-precipitation and rainy weather with different hourly precipitation intensities in *** increase in the travel time index(TTI)is chosen to represent the influence of precipitation on the transportation *** results show that the maximum of the average TTI increases on the city scale under various rainfall intensities by 3.3%,6.6%and 10.8%in Beijing,Tianjin and Shijiazhuang,*** general,the increase in the TTI contributed by precipitation is the greatest at morning and afternoon peak hours,and the traffic congestion degree increases with the rainfall ***,in the morning peak,afternoon peak and midday hours in Beijing and Tianjin,the influences of the weak rainfall intensity on the traffic flow are generally great,whereas the traffic congestion degree caused by heavy precipitation is relatively ***,in morning peak hours,the congestion reduction reaches approximately 2%,which may be related to the spatial difference in the impacts of precipitation on the traffic flow and the changes in people's travel intention under different rainfall *** findings can help better understand the relationship between rainfall and urban traffic flow characteristics and also potentially contribute to the development of impact-oriented climate predictions.

Assessing the Ecological Quality of Nanjing during Its Urbanization Process by Using Satellite,meteorological,and Socioeconomic Data

Assessing the ecological status of different districts within a city undergoing urbanization is challenging given their complex surface types and fast pace of *** this study,we utilized satellite data obtained from Landsat5/TM(Thematic Mapper)and Landsat 8/OLI(Operational Land Imager)images in conjunction with meteorological and socioeconomic data to construct a remote sensing ecological index(RSEI)for monitoring the ecological quality of Nanjing,Jiangsu Province.A higher RSEI value corresponded to better ecological *** ratings were associated with RSEI values of city districts:very poor,poor,average,good,and *** Nanjing,the percentage of areas evidencing good RSEI ratings decreased from 55.9%in 2000 to 48.0%in 2018,whereas there was a slight increase in areas with very poor RSEI ratings during this *** the 11 city districts,16.8%,21.8%,and 61.4%respectively evidenced the increasing,decreasing,and stable ecological quality relative to their quality in *** the11 administrative districts in Nanjing,the main urban districts evidenced increased RSEI values in 2018 compared with those in 2000,with the improved areas exceeding the ones that had deteriorated in these ***,the ecological quality of new urban and ed because of the urban expansion,with areas that had deteriorated exceeding the improved *** the three protected ecological zones,the quality of Zijin Mountain National Forest Park was considerably better than that of Laoshan and ***,the urbanization rate and RSEI evidenced a high negative correlation coefficient value(-0.76).The urbanization process of Nanjing induced a declining trend for the ecological quality,indicating the need of strong protection measures for the maintenance or improvement of its ecological environment.

Improved LS+MAR hybrid method to UT1-UTC ultra-short-term prediction by using first-order-difference UT1-UTC

Accurate ultra-short-term prediction of the Earth rotation parameters(ERP)holds paramount impor-tance for real-time applications,particularly in reference frame *** them,diurnal rota-tion(UT1-UTC)which cannot be directly estimated through Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)techniques,significantly affects the rapid and ultra-rapid orbit determination of GNsS ***-ently,the traditional LS(least squares)+AR(autoregressive)and LS+MAR(multivariate autoregressive)hybrid methods stand as primary approaches for UT1-UTC ultra-short-term predictions(1-10 days).The LS+MAR hybrid method relies on the UT1-UTC and LOD(length of day)***,the correlation between LOD and first-order-difference UT1-UTC is stronger than that between LOD and *** light of this,and with the aid of the first-order-difference UT1-UTC,we propose an enhanced LS+MAR hybrid method to UT1-UTC ultra-short-term *** using the UT1-UTC and LOD data series of the IERS(International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems service)EOP 14 C04 product,we conducted a thorough analysis and evaluation of the improved method's prediction performance compared to the traditional LS+AR and LS+MAR hybrid *** to the numerical results over more than 210 days,they demonstrate that,when considering the correlation information between the LoD and the first-order-difference UT1-UTC,the mean absolute errors(MAEs)of the improved LS+MAR hybrid method range from 21 to 934μs in 1-10 days *** comparison to the traditional LS+AR hybrid method,the MAEs show a reduction of 7-53μs in 1-10 days predictions,with corresponding improvement percentages ranging from 1 to 28%.Similarly,when compared to the traditional LS+MAR hybrid method,the MAEs have a reduction of 5-42μs in 1-10 days predictions,with corresponding improvement percentages ranging from 4-20%.Additionally,when aided by GNSS-derived LOD data series,the MAEs of improved LS+MAR hybrid method experience further

High blood pressure is a significant contributor to premature mortality,resulting in nearly 10 million deaths and over 200 million disabilities worldwide.1 In recent years,hypertension treatment has shifted focus not only to average blood pressure but also to blood pressure variability(BPV),categorized into very short-term,short-term,and long-term BPV based on the time period of occurrence.2,3 Long-term BPV has emerged as clinically significant,with studies demonstrating its superiority in predicting long-term cardiovascular events,stroke,and mortality compared to short-term *** its association with pre-renal function decline,reducing blood pressure fluctuations is imperative.
