Fabrication of Nanoscale Step Height Structure Using Atomic Layer Deposition Combined with Wet Etching

The current techniques used for the fabrication of nanosteps are normally done by layer growth and then ion beam thinning. There are also extra films grown on the step surfaces in order to reduce the roughness. So the whole process is time consuming. In this paper, a nanoscale step height structure is fabricated by atomic layer deposition （ALD） and wet etching techniques. According to the traceable of the step height value, the fabrication process is controllable. Because ALD technology can grow a variety of materials, aluminum oxide （Al2O3） is used to fabricate the nanostep. There are three steps of Al2O3 in this structure including 8 nm, 18 nm and 44 inn. The thickness of Al2O3 film and the height of the step are measured by anellipsometer. The experimental results show that the thickness of Al2O3 film is consistent with the height of the step. The height of the step is measured by AFM. The measurement results show that the height is related to the number of cycles of ALD and the wet etching time. The bottom and the sidewall surface roughness are related to the wet etching time. The step height is calibrated by Physikaliseh-Technische Bundesanstalt （PTB） and the results were 7.5±1.5 nm, 15.5±2.0 nm and 41.8±2.1 nm, respectively. This research provides a method for the fabrication of step height at nanoscale and the nanostep fabricated is potential used for standard references.

The present study proposes a segmented cooling-stream injection structure based on a certain coolant mass flow rate,and numerically investigates the effect of segmented cooling-stream injection on supersonic film *** results indicate that without shock-wave impingement and with helium as the coolant,segmented cooling-stream injection can reduce the mixing between the mainstream and the cooling stream to produce better cooling performance than single injection,especially at larger coolant Mach ***,with nitrogen as the coolant,the cooling effect of the segmented-injection system is very close to that of the single-injection *** at the impinging region is enhanced significantly when there is an incident shock *** the shock wave impinges between the two coolant inlets,segmented cooling-stream injection improves film cooling effectiveness in the midstream and downstream regions more than single injection because only part of the cooling stream undergoes the enhanced mixing effect of the shock *** advantage of segmented injection is reduced when the impinging region is behind the second coolant *** further downstream the impinging region,the smaller the associated advantage.

AIM: To investigate gene expression profiles of intergringenes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) through theusage of Atlas Human Cancer Array membranes, semi-quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chainreaction (RT-PCR) and Northern ***: Hybridization of cDNA array membrane wasperformed with α 32P-labeled cDNA probes synthesizedfrom RNA isolated from hepatocellular carcinoma andadjacent non-cirrhotic liver. AtlasImage, which is asoftware specific to array, was used to analyze theresult. RT-PCR of 24 pairs specimen and Northern blotof 4 pairs specimen were used to confirm the expressionpattern of some intergrin genes identified by Atlasarrays ***: Among 588 genes spotted in membrane, 17genes were related to intergrin. Four genes were up-regulated, such as intergrin alpha8, beta1, beta7 andbeta8 in HCC. Whereas there were no genes down-regulated in HCC. RT-PCR and Northern blot analysisof intergrin beta1 gene gave results consistent withcDNA array ***: Investigation of these intergrin genesshould help to disclose the molecular mechanism of thecell adhesion, invasive and metastasis of HCC. A fewgenes are reported to have changed in HCC for the firsttime. The quick and high-throughout method of profilinggene expression by cDNA array provides us overviewof key factors that may involved in HCC, and may findthe clue of the study of HCC metastasis and moleculartargets of anti-metastasis therapy. The preciserelationship between the altered genes and HCC is amatter of further investigation.

Organic–inorganic metal halide perovskites have attained extensive attention owing to their outstanding photovoltaic performances,but the existence of numerous defects in crystalline perovskites is still a serious constraint for the further development of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).In particular,the rapid crystallization guided by anti-solvents leads to plenty of surficial and interfacial defects in perovskite ***,we report the adoption of a pseudo-halide anion based ionic liquid additive,1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium thiocyanate(BMIMSCN)for growing ternary cation(CsFAMA,where FA=formamidinium and MA=methylammonium)perovskites with large-scale crystal grains and strong preferential orientation via the enhanced Ostwald ***,a novel halide-free passivator,benzylammonium formate(BAFa),was employed as a buffering layer on the perovskite films to suppress surface-dominated charge *** a result,the cooperative effects of BMIMSCN additive and BAFa passivator lead to significant enhancements on fluorescence lifetime(from 79.41 to 201.01 ns),open-circuit voltage(from 1.13 to 1.19 V),photoelectric conversion efficiency(from 18.90%to 22.33%).Moreover,the BMIMSCN/BAFa-CsFAMA PSCs demonstrated greatly improved stability against moisture and *** work suggests a promising strategy to improve the quality of perovskite materials via reducing the surficial and interfacial defects by the synergistic effects of lattice doping and interface engineering.

Synergistic Effect of Phosphite with Fullerene C_(60) and Fullerenol C_(60)(OH)_(24) as Antioxidants in Polypropylene

Polypropylene samples with fullerene C60, fullerenol C60（OH）24, 1010, C60/168, C60-OH/168 and 1010/168 as antioxidants were prepared by extrusions. MFR, YI, TGA and OIT of all the samples were tested. According to the results of MFR, during the melt extrusion, fullerene showed excellent stability effect on PP. The antioxidative ability of fullerene was comparable to the traditional antioxidant 1010. The antioxidative ability of fullerenol was not significant in the first extrusion and it accelerated the degradation of PP in the second and the third extrusions. TGA and OIT tests showed that the stability effects of fullerene and fullerenol were slightly lower than antioxidant 1010. In the first time, antioxidant 168 was reported to show great synergistic effects with fullerene and fullerenol as antioxidants, which sussested a simple way to enhance the antioxidative abilities of fullerene and fullerenol.

Two-stage analysis of pharmacokinetics of sufentanil administered by target-controlled infusion in Chinese patients

Background Sufentanil is a suitable choice for target-controlled infusion （TCI） because of its shorter context-sensitive half-time. The current study was to estimate the pharmacokinetics of sufentanil TCI in Chinese patients using the two-stage analysis. Methods Twelve adult patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists （ASA） physical status I or II undergoing elective surgery under general anesthesia were included. Anesthesia was induced with propofol, rocuronium and sufentanil administered by TCI lasting for 30 minutes, with target effect-site concentration of sufentanil 4 or 6 ng/ml. Frequent arterial blood samples （1.5 ml） were taken during and up to 24 hours after sufentanil TCI. Before the end of surgery, another arterial blood sample （1.0 ml） was drawn for the blood-gas analysis. Plasma sufentanil concentrations were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry （limit of quantitation was 5 pg/ml）. The data were analyzed with the two-stage approach, linear regression and correlation analysis. Results The pharmacokinetics of sufentanil TCI were adequately described by a three-compartment model. The variables were derived as follows： the volume of central compartment （V1） was 5.4 L, volume of distribution at steady-state （Vdss） was 222.6 L, metabolic clearance （CI1） was 0.84 L/min and elimination half-life （t~/2y） was 389 minutes. Patients＇ age, gender and PaCO2 correlated significantly with the pharmacokinetic parameters. The Vdss, volume of slowly equilibrating compartment （V3） and t1/2 y increased, and rapid distribution clearance （012） decreased with increasing patient age. Male patients had larger values of Vdss, volume of rapidly equilibrating compartment （V2） and V3 than female patients. The Vdss and V3 increased with higher PaCO2 values. There were no significant correlations between the pharmacokinetic variables and body weight, height, lean body mass, plasma albumin, sufentanil dose, duration of surgery, pH or base excess of blood

AIM: Our previous studies showed increased sensitivityto 5-FU in colon cancer cell lines with microsatelliteinstability, and considered that mutations of TGFβ-RⅡ,IGF Ⅱ R, RIZ gene might enhance the potentials of cellgrowth and proliferation, which increased the sensitivityto 5-FU. Here we compared the distribution of cell cycleand P53 status between two human colon cancer cell lineswith different sensitivity to 5-FU. Because mechanisticdifferences exist between 5-FU andCD DP, we alsoanalyzed the efficacy of CDDP and combination therapyon two human colon cancer cell linesMETHODS: We compared the sensitivity to CDDP of thesetwo cell lines by MTT assay. Distribution of cell cycle undertreatment of 5-FU, CDDP alone or both was analyzed byFlow Cytometry, and expression of P53 was detected byimmunocytochemical ***: SW480 cells were more sensitive to CDDP thanLoVo cells at the concentrations above 16 μmol/I (Ratio ofabsorption is 0.64 and 0.79 at 16 μmol/I, respectively;P＜0.01). Efficacy of combination therapy was converselylower than that of single-therapy of 5-FU (Ratio of absorptionin LoVo+5-FU, SW480+5-FU, LoVo+5-FU+CDDP andSW480+5-FU+CDDP is 0.53, 0.54, 0.72, 0.78, respectively;P＜0.01). LoVo cells were negative whereas SW480 cellspositive in P53 expression. 5-FU induced G1-phase arrestin both cell lines, but LoVo cells peaked 24 hours earlierthan SW480 cells, and 48 hours earlier for an apparenthypodiploid DNA. However, CDDP showed the contrary,inducing S-phase arrest, and SW480 cells peaking 36 hoursearlier. Both cell lines showed hypodipliod nuclei 48 hoursafter CDDP treatment. Percentage of cells in G1-phase andS-phase dominated alternatively under combination therapyin both cell ***: These results suggest that colon cancercells with microsatellite instability are more sensitive to 5-FU, whereas more resistant to CDDP.
