Medium distribution, source characteristics and ecological risk of bisphenol compounds in agricultural environment

Bisphenol compounds(BPs)are commonly used in industry and ***,BPs pollution has already raised global concerns due to their ecological *** study investigated nine types of BPs in agricultural soil and irrigation rivers,and evaluated the occurrence,source apportionment,and ecological risks for BPs in soils of agricultural environment by using principal component analysis-multivariate linear regression(PCA-MLR)and risk quotients(RQ).The average concentration of BPs in soil,irrigation water and sediments were 29.19 ng/g,30.21 ng/L and 610.09 ng/g dw,*** was the most highly detected contaminant in all *** soil,the primary BPA substitutes were bisphenol S(BPS)and bisphenol F(BPF),contributing about 50%to the pollution in ***-MLR analysis indicated that the release of solid waste was the primary cause of BPs pollution in the agricultural soils,following by waste water *** evaluation of RQ revealed that BPs presented a low to medium risk to algae,daphnia,and fish in irrigation rivers,while more than 90% of soil sampling sites faced medium or high risk,with BPA and BPS as the main contributors to the *** research findings offer evidence to support the assessment of contaminants concentration,source pathways,and risk management strategies pertaining to BPs in the agricultural *** ongoing BPA substitute occurrence,addressing risks to agricultural soil ecosystems remains crucial.

Rock mechanical characteristics and landscape evolutionary mechanism of the slit-type Danxia landform on the Chinese Loess Plateau

Since 2015,the newly discovered slit-type Danxia landform on the Chinese Loess Plateau has become a hot topic in the field of geomorphology ***,the relationships among its formation,evolutionary mechanism,and mechanical characteristics of its strata and rocks are not *** this paper,the Ganquan canyon group is used as the research *** physical and mechanical indices of sandstone in the Ganquan canyon group were measured through field investigation and indoor experiments,and the deterioration trends for the mechanical parameters of sandstone in this area under the action of infiltration,acid dry-wet cycles,and freeze-thaw cycles were ***,the formation and evolutionary mechanism of the slit-type Danxia landform were *** results showed that:(1)The sandstone in the canyon group had a low cementation degree and weak cohesive force,which was easily weakened under the action of water,resulting in a decrease in compressive strength and elastic modulus.(2)Acidic dry-wet cycles caused the mineral composition of the sandstone to be dissolved,and the micropores continued to grow and develop until new cracks were ***,the compressive strength and elastic modulus of sandstone were greatly reduced,and this damage was cumulative and *** greater the acidity,the greater the damage.(3)As the number of freeze-thaw cycles increased,the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus of the sandstone decreased *** the freeze-thaw cycle process,the growth and development of cracks were primarily in fracture mode and usually developed along parallel bedding positions.(4)The interaction of tectonic activity and lithology with different weathering processes was a key factor in the formation and evolution of the slit-type Danxia *** conclusion,the intricate process of weathering influenced by historical climatic fluctuations has been pivotal in shaping the topography of Danxia landform.

Growth hormone promotes the reconstruction of injured axons in the hypothalamo-neurohypophyseal system

Previous studies have shown that growth hormone can regulate hypothalamic energy metabolism, stress, and hormone release. Therefore, growth hormone has great potential for treating hypothalamic injury. In this study, we established a specific hypothalamic axon injury model by inducing hypothalamic pituitary stalk electric lesions in male mice. We then treated mice by intraperitoneal administration of growth hormone. Our results showed that growth hormone increased the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 and its receptors, and promoted the survival of hypothalamic neurons, axonal regeneration, and vascular reconstruction from the median eminence through the posterior pituitary. Altogether, this alleviated hypothalamic injury-caused central diabetes insipidus and anxiety. These results suggest that growth hormone can promote axonal reconstruction after hypothalamic injury by regulating the growth hormone-insulin-like growth factor 1 axis.

Biological sources, paleoenvironment, and organic matter enrichment in source rocks of the Ordovician Majiagou Formation, Ordos Basin, China:Evidence from biomarkers,microfossils, and inorganic geochemical analyses

Carbonate deposits in the Ordovivian Majiagou Formation are significant source rocks for natural gas generation in the Ordos Basin, northwestern China. Previous studies mainly focused on the organic matter enrichment mechanism of shales rather than carbonate rocks. The biological sources and paleoenvironment of carbonate source rocks, and the main controlling factors of organic matter enrichment in the carbonate source rocks were studied in this paper in combination with evidence from biomarkers, microfossils and inorganic geochemistry analysis. The results show that four types of microfacies were identified in the Majiagou Formation, respectively as: mud flat microfacies, mud-dolomite flat microfacies, dolomite flat microfacies, and open marine microfacies. The biological sources of organic matter are chiefly planktonic algae, followed by bacteria. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat contain a high abundance of terrigenous detrital inputs, as indicated by the high content of Al_(2)O_(3), TiO_(2), Th, and Zr. The low Sr/Cu and high Rb/Sr values reveal warm and humid paleoclimate conditions in the mud flat and mud-dolomite flat, whereas the dolomite flat and open marine were likely formed in hot and arid paleoclimate conditions. The mud flat and mud-dolomite flat deposits were characterized by high paleoproductivity of the Majiagou Formation. Low Sr/Ba values were found in the mud flat samples, indicating fresh to brackish water condition, whereas samples of other facies have a relatively high degree of salinity. Based on U_(auth), Mo_(auth), Cr_(auth), Co_(auth), δCe, and δEu values, the mud flat microfacies was formed in a suboxic and anoxic environment, whereas the mud-dolomite flat, dolomite flat and open marine microfacies were within dysoxic to oxic conditions. A model of organic matter enrichment in the Majiagou Formation is thus established. Rapid synthesis of oxygen-defected molybdenum oxides quantum dots as efficient nanozymes for healing diabetic ulcers

The continuous inflammatory response in diabetic skin wounds leads to excessive production of reactive oxygen species,which cause a vicious circle of long-term *** the therapeutic research of metal nanoenzymes for healing diabetic ulcers,it still faces the challenges in poor nanoenzymes activity and low-efficient therapeutic ***,ultrasmall oxygen-deficient MoO_(3−X)quantum dots were fabricated and employed as nanoenzymes for healing fiabetic *** PEGylation,PEGylated MoO_(3−X)quantum dots(MoO_(3−X)/PEG)with oxygen vacancies exhibits excellent photothermal,peroxidase/catalase-like *** addition,these MoO_(3−X)/PEG showed superior properties in scavenging H_(2)O_(2)and effectively inhibiting the scavenging of reactive oxygen *** importantly,such an oxygen-defected MoO_(3−X)/PEG had obvious antibacterial and skin repairing effects on alleviating hypoxia and excessive oxidative stress even in a mouse model of diabetic ulcers,inhibiting proinflammatory cytokines and significantly accelerating the healing of infected wounds,which shows great application potential for promoting wound *** work highlights that the developed oxygen defected molybdenum oxide compounds capable of peroxidaselike and catalase-like activities show great application potential for healing diabetes wound.

First record of abnormal body coloration in a rockfish Sebastes koreanus(Scorpaenoidei:Sebastidae)from coastal water of China based on morphological characteristics and DNA barcoding

The first record of abnormal body coloration in Sebastes koreanus Kim and Lee,1994,from the yellow Sea of China,was documented based on morphological characteristics and DNA *** two rockfish specimens were collected from the coastal waters of Qingdao,China,and the whole body and all fins of them were *** the two red-colored rockfish,there were tiny deep red spots on each fin,2 red radial stripes behind and below the eyes and 1 large deep red blotch on the opercula,while the similar stripe and spot patterns are also present in the *** specimens with normal body *** countable characteristics of the two specimens are in the range of the morphometry of *** further clarify the species identity and taxonomic status of the two specimens,DNA barcode analysis was carried *** genetic distance between the red-colored rockfish and *** was 0,and the minimum net genetic distances between the red-colored rockfish and other Sebastes species except for *** were 3.0%,which exceeds the threshold of species *** phylogenetic analysis showed that the DNA barcoding sequences of the two red-colored rockfish clustered with the *** *** above results of DNA barcode analysis also support that the two red-colored rockfish could be identified as the species of *** mechanism of color variation in *** is desirable for further research and the species could be an ideal model to study the color-driven speciation of the rockfishes.
