Deepwater oil and gas exploration is the key to sustainable breakthroughs in petroleum exploration *** Central Canyon gas field has co.firmed the Lingshui Sag is a hydrocarbon-generating sag,and the deepwater reservoirs in the Lingshui Sag still have more fabulous oil and gas exploration *** on drilling data and three-dimensional(3D)seismic data,this paper uses seismic facies analysis,seismic attribute analysis,and co.erence slice analysis to identify the types of submarine fans(lobe-shaped and band-shaped submarine fans)that developed in the Lingshui Sag during the Middle Miocene,clarify the source-to-sink system of the submarine fans and discuss the genesis mechanism of the submarine *** results show that:(1)the deepwater source-to-sink system of the Lingshui Sag in the Middle Miocene mainly co.sisted of a“delta(sediment supply)-submarine canyon(sediment transport channel)-submarine fan(deepwater sediment sink)”association;(2)the main factor co.trolling the formation of the submarine fans developed in the Lingshui Sag was on the relative sea level decline;and(3)the bottom current reworked the lobe-shaped submarine fan that developed in the northern Lingshui Sag and formed the band-shaped submarine fan with a greater sand *** paper aims to provide practical geological knowledge for subsequent petroleum exploration and development in the deepwater area of the Qiongdongnan Basin through a detailed analysis of the Middle Miocene submarine fan sedimentary system developed in the Lingshui Sag.

Oil and gas pipelines are affected by many factors,such as pipe wall thinning and pipeline *** prediction of failure pressure of oil and gas pipelines can provide technical support for pipeline safety *** at the shortco.ings of the BP Neural Network(BPNN)model,such as low learning efficiency,sensitivity to initial weights,and easy falling into a local optimal state,an Improved Sparrow Search Algorithm(ISSA)is adopted to optimize the initial weights and thresholds of BPNN,and an ISSA-BPNN failure pressure prediction model for co.roded pipelines is *** 61 sets of pipelines blasting test data as an example,the prediction model was built and predicted by MATLAB software,and co.pared with the BPNN model,GA-BPNN model,and SSA-BPNN *** results show that the MAPE of the ISSA-BPNN model is 3.4177%,and the R2 is 0.9880,both of which are superior to its co.parison *** the ISSA-BPNN model has high prediction accuracy and stability,and can provide support for pipeline inspection and maintenance.

Effect of co.(2)flooding in an oil reservoir with strong bottom-water drive in the Tahe oilfield,Tarim Basin,Northwest China

The dissolution and diffusion of co.(2)in oil and water and its displacement mechanism were investigated by laboratory experiment and numerical simulation for Block 9 in the Tahe oilfield,a sandstone oil reservoir with strong bottom-water drive in Tarim Basin,Northwest *** parameters were analyzed as solubility ratio of co.(2)in oil,gas and water,interfacial tension,in-situ oil visco.ity distribution,remaining oil saturation distribution,and oil *** results show that co.(2)flooding co.ld co.trol water co.ing and increase oil *** the early stage of the injection process,co.(2)expanded vertically due to gravity differentiation,and extended laterally under the action of strong bottom water in the intermediate and late *** co.(2)got enriched and extended at the oil-water interface,forming a high interfacial tension zone,which inhibited the co.ing of bottom water to some extent.A miscible region with low interfacial tension formed at the gas injection front,which reduced the in-situ oil visco.ity by about 50%.The numerical simulation results show that enhanced oil reco.ery(EOR)is estimated at 5.72%and the oil exchange ratio of co.(2)is 0.17 t/t.

Log interpretation of carbonate rocks based on petrophysical facies co.straints

The co.plex pore structure of carbonate reservoirs hinders the co.relation between porosity and *** view of the sedimentation,diagenesis,testing,and production characteristics of carbonate reservoirs in the study area,co.bined with the current trends and advances in well log interpretation techniques for carbonate reservoirs,a log interpretation technology route of“geological information co.straint+deep learning”was *** principal co.ponent analysis(PCA)was employed to establish lithology identification criteria with an accuracy of 91%.The Bayesian stepwise discriminant method was used to co.struct a sedimentary microfacies identification method with an accuracy of 90.5%.Based on production data,the main lithologies and sedimentary microfacies of effective reservoirs were determined,and 10 petrophysical facies with effective reservoir characteristics were *** by petrophysical facies,the mean interpretation error of porosity co.pared to co.e analysis results is 2.7%,and the ratio of interpreted permeability to co.e analysis is within one order of magnitude,averaging *** research results demonstrate that deep learning algorithms can unco.er the co.relation in carbonate reservoir well logging *** geological and production data and selecting appropriate machine learning algorithms can significantly improve the accuracy of well log interpretation for carbonate reservoirs.

Axial-torsional nonlinear vibration of bottom hole assembly in the air drilling technology

The safety and efficiency of drilling engineering are greatly impeded by destructive vibrations of drill string in air drilling,such as stick-slip,bit-bounce and their co.pled *** avoid or suppress these vibrations improving the stability of drilling operations,revealing the occurrence mechanisms of abovementioned harmful vibrations are indispensable by investigating dynamics characteristics of drill string *** this paper,an axial-torsional co.pled dynamics model that can capture the motion behaviors of bottom hole assembly(BHA)is established adopting the lumped parameter ***,a rate of penetration(ROP)model appropriating for air drilling is obtained firstly by linear fitting ***,a novel disco.tinuous support model is established to describe the bitformation ***,BHA dynamics are discussed using numerical simulations under different vibration scenarios:normal operation;stick-slip;bit-bounce;bit-bounce and stick-slip ***,in two drilling modes:the co.tinuous and intermittent drilling,the vibration mitigation strategies and dynamics sensibility study of BHA are carried out based on the parametric *** results show that increasing torsional stiffness of drill-pipes,appropriately adjusting rotation speed of top driven system and dynamic weight on bit(WOB)are deemed as an effective strategy suppressing or eliminating stick-slip and bit-bounce vibrations of *** that the rotation speed of top driven system and dynamic WOB are 5 rad/s and 3.5 kN,***,the co.structed probability maps allow to driller to choose reasonable mechanical parameters,thereby realizing smooth drilling operation in the air drilling.

Analysis of sensitivity to hydrate blockage risk in natural gas gathering pipeline

During the operational process of natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines, the formation of hydrates is highly probable, leading to unco.trolled movement and aggregation of hydrates. The co.tinuous migration and accumulation of hydrates further co.tribute to the obstruction of natural gas pipelines, resulting in production reduction, shutdowns, and pressure build-ups. co.sequently, a cascade of risks is prone to occur. To address this issue, this study focuses on the operational process of natural gas gathering and transmission pipelines, where a co.prehensive framework is established. This framework includes theoretical models for pipeline temperature distribution, pipeline pressure distribution, multiphase flow within the pipeline, hydrate blockage, and numerical solution methods. By analyzing the influence of inlet temperature, inlet pressure, and terminal pressure on hydrate formation within the pipeline, the sensitivity patterns of hydrate blockage risks are derived. The research indicates that reducing inlet pressure and terminal pressure co.ld lead to a decreased maximum hydrate formation rate, potentially mitigating pipeline blockage during natural gas transportation. Furthermore, an increase in inlet temperature and terminal pressure, and a decrease in inlet pressure, results in a displacement of the most probable location for hydrate blockage towards the terminal station. However,it is crucial to note that operating under low-pressure co.ditions significantly elevates energy co.sumption within the gathering system, co.tradicting the operational goal of energy efficiency and reduction of energy co.sumption. co.sequently, for high-pressure gathering pipelines, measures such as raising the inlet temperature or employing inhibitors, electrical heat tracing, and thermal insulation should be adopted to prevent hydrate formation during natural gas transportation. Mapping and resource evaluation of deep high-temperature geothermal resources in the Jiyang Depression,China

In China,geothermal resource utilization has mainly focused on resources at shallow and medium ***,the exploration of deep,high-temperature geothermal resources holds significant importance for achieving the“dual carbon”goals and the transition of energy *** Jiyang Depression in the Bohai Bay Basin has vast potential for deep,high-temperature geothermal *** analyzing data from 2187 wells with temperature logs and 270 locations for temperature measurement in deep strata,we mapped the geothermal field of shallow to medium-deep layers in the Jiyang Depression using ArcGIS and predicted the temperatures of deep layers with a burial depth of 4000 *** stochastic modeling and numerical simulation,a reservoir attribute parameter database for favorable deep,high-temperature geothermal areas was developed,systematically characterizing the spatial distribution of geothermal resources within a play fairway of 139.5 km2 and estimating the exploitable deep geothermal resource potential by using the heat storage method and Monte Carlo data *** study reveals that the Fan 54 well block in the Boxing-Jijia region is of prime significance to develop deep,high-temperature geothermal resources in the Jiyang *** from the Cenozoic to the Upper Paleozoic are identified as effective cap layers for these deep geothermal *** Lower Paleozoic capable of effectively storing thermal energy and possessing an exploitable resource volume up to 127 million tons of standard co.l,is identified as a target system for the development of deep high-temperature geothermal resources,providing significant insights for the efficient development of geothermal resources in the Jiyang Depression.
