Owing to its high sensitivity,selectivity,and accuracy,liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry(LC-MS)is commonly employed to screen,confirm,and quantify impurities in drugs[1].However,LC-MS has certain drawbacks such as complicated pretreatment steps,long analysis time,large consumption of organic solvents,high maintenance costs,and,most notably,the need for high-pressure pumps and compatible hardware because of the high column backpressure[2].In this study,a two-dimensional(2D)microscale carbon fiber(CF)/active carbon fiber(ACF)system combined with a quadrupole time-of-flight high-resolution mass spectrometry(2DmCFs-QTOF-HRMS)system was developed to rapid screening impurities in the typical three generations of oral cephalosporins,i.e.,cephalexin tablets(CPXTs),cefuroxime axetil tablets(CFATs),and cefixime tablets(CFXTs)(Fig.S1).The“fuzzy chromatographic separation”sample pretreatment method separates complex samples into high-,medium-,and weak-polar fractions for successive detection of MS,achieving effective reduction of the ion suppression effect in electrospray ionization(ESI)-MS and improving the MS detection *** to high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)-MS,this method has distinct advantages such as less organic solvent consumption(1.5 mL),shorter separation and analysis times(5 min),more information on impurities,and high reproducibility.

Extraction of Eugenol from Essential Oils by In Situ Formation of Deep Eutectic Solvents:A Green Recyclable Process

Eugenol is extensively utilized in chemical *** actual production,it is mainly separated from clove essential oils(EOs)through acid-base *** this work,a simple,rapid and effective extraction process was developed for the extraction of eugenol from EOs samples by directly forming deep eutectic solvents(DESs)without using acid-base *** proposed process is designed to dissolve EOs in n-hexane and eugenol was highly selective extracted into DESs with tetrabutylammonium chloride(TBAC).Hydrogen bonds in DESs can be broken by addition of water,resulting in a separation of the two phases,thus obtaining a hydrophobic yellowish eugenol in the upper *** quaternary ammonium salt in the lower aqueous solution can be reused after *** most determining influence factors such as the structure of quaternary ammonium salt,the mole ratio of quaternary ammonium salt to eugenol and the amount of n-hexane were *** forming conditions of DESs were studied by Box-Behnken design(BBD).Experiment was carried out under the optimal conditions and good experimental result was demonstrated by the developed process,a high extraction recovery of 92.51% and the purity was about 98.50%,which verifies the excellent performance for the proposed process.

To describe and analyze the research status of alexithymia in elderly people in nursing institutions,and summarizes the existing research results and *** literature in PubMed,CochraneLibrary,Web of Science,EBSCO,Proquest,Scopus,Sinomed,CNKI,WanFang,VIP was computer searched,and the time frame was build to October 30,2023.A total of 15 articles were included,comprising 10 in Chinese and 5 in *** them,14 articles were cross-sectional studies reporting the prevalence and influencing factors of communication disorders in elderly people residing in nursing homes.A total of three assessment tools were ***,three articles described preventive or intervention measures targeting *** has a high incidence and severity among elderly individuals in nursing ***,there are only a few assessment tools available,and experimental studies are notably *** research should focus on enhancing the understanding of alexithymia in this population by developing and validating more comprehensive assessment tools,diversifying research methodologies,and conducting intervention studies that consider the various influencing factors.

A PDGFRβ-targeting nanodrill system for pancreatic fibrosis therapy

Activated pancreatic stellate cells(PSCs) are the main source of collagen layer deposition and the key target in pancreatic fibrosis. However, no effective treatment specific to pancreatic fibrosis clinically, owing to the drug accumulation blocked by the collagen barrier and thus it is difficult to inhibit activated PSCs precisely. Herein, a PSCs-targeting nano-system based on “nanodrill” strategy(LA-PC) was designed to enhance the accumulation of all-trans retinoic acid(ATRA) in PSCs, relying on the platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta(PDGFRβ)-targeting peptide(p PB: C*SRNLIDC*) and collagenase(Col). After being injected into fibrotic mice via tail vein, the Col modified on LA-PC can remove the excess collagen layer,and the drug delivery efficiency through pPB targeting peptide was more than 5 times higher than that of free ATRA, as well as the degree of fibrosis significantly reduced. Notably, this nano-system effectively inhibited platelet-derived growth factor subunit B(PDGF-BB)/PDGFRβ axis on PSCs via a down-regulated extracellular signal-regulated protein kinase(ERK) pathway, and accordingly reduced the level of PDGFBB. Thus, the smart platform provided a promising strategy for the treatment of pancreatic fibrosis to achieve the precise regulation of PSCs.
