To reconstruct the missing data of the total electron content （TEC） observations, a new method is proposed, which is based on the empirical orthogonal functions （EOF） decomposition and the value of eigenvalue itself. It is a self-adaptive EOF decomposition without any prior information needed, and the error of reconstructed data can be estimated. The interval quartering algorithm and cross-validation algorithm are used to compute the optimal number of EOFs for reconstruction. The interval quartering algorithm can reduce the computation time. The application of the data interpolating empirical orthogonal functions （DINEOF） method to the real data have demonstrated that the method can reconstruct the TEC map with high accuracy, which can be employed on the real-time system in the future work.

The quantum key distribution(QKD) has been entering the practical application era. Subsequently, hybrid quantum private communication with discrete-variable signals, continuous-variable signals, and classic optical signals becomes inevitable in the practical scenario. In this paper, we experimentally investigated the mutual effects between the discrete-variable QKD(DVQKD) and the continuous-variable QKD(CVQKD) via a fiber channel. The experimental results show that the DVQKD will be influenced by the continuous-variable quantum signals and classic optical signals, while the CVQKD is not sensitive to the discrete-variable quantum signals.

optical buffers are critical for optical signal processing in future optical packet-switched networks. In this paper, a theoretical study as well as an experimental demonstration on a new optical buffer with large dynamical delay time is carried out based on cascaded double loop optical buffers （I：）LOBs）. It is found that pulse distortion can be restrained by a negative optical control mode when the optical packet is in the loop. Noise analysis indicates that it is feasible to realise a large variable delay range by cascaded DLOBs. These conclusions are validated by the experiment system with 4-stage cascaded DLOBs. Both the theoretical simulations and the experimental results indicate that a large delay range of 1-9999 times the basic delay unit and a fine granularity of 25 ns can be achieved by the cascaded DLOBs. The performance of the cascaded DLOBs is suitable for the all optical networks.

The asymmetric transmission(AT) and polarization conversion of terahertz(THz) wave play a vital role in future THz communication,spectrum,and information ***,it is very difficult and complicated to actively control the AT of electromagnetic(EM) wave by using traditional ***,we theoretically demonstrate a stereo-metamaterial(stereo-MM) consisting of a layer of metal structure and a layer of phase transition structure with a polyimide spacer in *** performance of the device is simulated by using the finite-integration-technology(FIT).The results show that the AT and polarization conversion of linearly polarized wave can be dynamically controlled in a range of 1.0 THz-1.6 THz when the conductivity c,F of vanadium dioxide(VO2) is changed under the external *** study provides an example of actively controlling of the AT and polarization conversion of the EM wave.

We propose a new framework combining weak measurement and second-order correlated technique. The theoretical analysis shows that weak value amplification （WVA） experiment can also be implemented by a second-order correlated system. We then build two-dimensional second-order correlated function patterns for achieving higher amplification factor and discuss the signal-to-noise ratio influence. Several advantages can be obtained by our proposal. For instance, detectors with high resolution are not necessary. Moreover, detectors with low saturation intensity are available in WVA setup. Finally, type-one technical noise can be effectively suppressed.

Animation rendering consumes massive computation time, therefore cloud rendering is emerging as a solution. Cloud rendering runs over the Data Center Network(DCN) and consolidates heterogeneous DC resources into a single cloud renderfarm, where plentiful computing resources can sufficiently accelerate any rendering process. And if one user wants to get a quick animation result, a high-speed optical interconnection is an urgent requirement, thus cloud rendering needs a convergence of optical and DCN(ODCN) as the substrate network. In the ODCN supporting cloud rendering, each rendering task will be successfully handled only when we embed its virtual network into the cloud renderfarm. But because a virtual network includes virtual machines and virtual lightpaths, we must simultaneously perform the node-level mapping between virtual machine and server, as well as link-level mapping between virtual lightpath and fiber link(s). In addition, the joint implementation of the Photorealistic cloud Rendering(PR) and Non-Photorealistic cloud Rendering(NPR) should be considered to exhibit the unique animation effect with the low mapping cost. In this paper, considering the unique characteristic of hybrid cloud rendering, we flexibly select routing strategies according to the rendering task type. We then utilize server consolidation and traffic grooming to achieve node- and link-level mappings,respectively, thus building a mapping-cost-aware cloud renderfarm that includes multiple virtual networks. The mathematical formulation is also made with a bound analysis. Especially for the lower bound, we analyze the least number of servers and wavelengths(i.e., mapping cost) consumed by hybrid cloud rendering. In terms of heuristics, according to the processing order of rendering tasks, Smaller Virtual Resource First(SVRF) and Manycast Routing First(MRF) algorithms are proposed by us. Polymer solar cells （PSCs） based on poly（3-hexylthiophene）（P3HT） and [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester （PCBM） are fabricated by using 1,8-diiodooctane （DIO） as a solvent additive to control the doping density of the PSCs. It is shown that the processing of DIO does not change the doping density of the P3HT phase, while it causes a dramatic reduction of the doping density of the PCBM phase, which decreases the doping density of the whole blend layer from 3.7 × 10^16 cm-3 to 1.2 ×10^16 cm-3. The reduction of the doping density in the PCBM phase originates from the increasing crystallinity of PCBM with DIO addition, and it leads to a decreasing doping density in the blend film and improves the short circuit current of the PSCs.

Formation and Characterization of CdS Hollow Structures

CdS hollow structures were built up by using the one pot method and using carbon disulfide （CS2） and ethylenediamine as starting materials. CS2 is insoluble in water and could form metastable oil droplets in the water at a moderate temperature. The oil droplets formed chains in the circumvolving water. CdS crystals grew and mineralized on the surfaces of the CS2 droplet chains, forming CdS shells around the unreacted CS2 cores. After the surrounding temperature was raised above the boiling point of CS2, the unreacted CS2 cores vaporized, leaving the CdS shelled hollow structures. The CdS hollow structures were characterized by using a transmission electron microscope, an X-ray diffractometer, a UV-Visible spectrophotometer and a fluorescence spectrophotometer. The CdS hollow structures were mainly tubes with closed ends. The exterior diameter and the interior diameter of tubes were about 50 nm and about 15 nm, respectively. Compared with the absorption onset wavelength of the bulk CdS, the CdS hollow structures exhibited a blue shift of about 57 nm. While excited at 213 nm, the CdS hollow structures emitted greenish blue light centered at 470 nm.

The coupled-mode equations for fiber Bragg grating （FBG） and long period fiber grating （LPFG） undergoing linear and quadratic temperature change were given. The effects of temperature gradient and quadratic temperature change on the reflectivity spectrum of fiber Braggs grating and the transmission spectrum of long period fiber grating were investigated using the numerical simulation, and the dependence relationships of the central wavelength shift, the full-width-athalf-maximum, and the peak intensity upon temperature gradient were also obtained. These relationships may be used to design a novel fiber optical sensor which can simultaneously measure the temperature and temperature gradient.
