The effect of the Al2O3 content and basicity (the molar ratio of MgO to SiO2) on the viscosity of a SiO2-MgO-FeOAl2O3-CaO slag was studied to fully understand the smelting process of the ferronickel alloy. Experimental results show that the slag is a mixture of liquid and solid phases at the experimental temperature. The viscosity decreased as the basicity increased and increased as the Al2O3 content increased. To determine the effect of the Al2O3 content and basicity on the structure of the molten slag, Raman spectroscopy was performed on the slag sample, which was quenched from the high temperature with water. The Raman spectra showed that the fractions of the polymerization structural units decreased significantly as the basicity of the slag increased, resulting in a decrease in the apparent viscosity. However, Al2O3 acts as a network former in the slag system, thereby making the slag structure further polymerized and increasing the viscosity.

Numerical and physical models have been built and validated to study the multiphase flow inside three ladle shrouds and a four-strand tundish.A conventional straight ladle shroud and two types of trumpet-shaped ladle shroud(TLS)have been comparatively *** maximum velocity at ladle shroud outlet reduces from 1.3 to 0.5 m/s,which indicates a quieter tundish *** is demonstrated that the use of a TLS can also decrease the maximum surface velocity from 0.16 to 0.13 m/s,which reduces the tendency of forming tundish open *** flow pattern and mixing behavior are improved inside the tundish,especially in enlarging the plug volume from 6.61%to 9.04%.The difference between the near and far outlets is narrowed when the TLS is applied.A computational program was developed to calculate characteristic parameters of different ladle shroud designs,and a dimensionless index was proposed to evaluate their mass and inner *** trials have been carried out,and the results showed that TLS can reduce level fluctuation in the pouring zone,which is beneficial to promoting better protective performance from secondary contamination and heat loss during continuous casting.

Hot compression tests of microalloyed forging steels 38MnVS were carried out on the Gleeble-3800 thermo-mechanical simulator at the deformation temperatures from 950 to 1 150 ℃ with the strain rates ranging from 0.1 to 10 s^（-1）. The effects of the deformation temperature and strain rate on the austenite dynamic recrystallization and microstructural changes were researched. The experimental results show that the dynamic recrystallization accelerated with the increase of the deformation temperatures and the decrease of the strain rate. The activation energy of dynamic recrystallization was calculated, which was about 275.453 kJ/mol. The relation between the dynamic recrystallization and the Z-parameter was investigated, and the state chart of the dynamic recrystallization of the microalloyed forging steel 38MnVS was made according to the experimental data and the deformation parameters.

Effects of cooling rate on vermicular graphite percentage in a brake drum produced by onestep cored wire injection

In this research, a vermicular graphite cast iron brake drum was produced by cored wire injection in a one-step method. Silica sand and low-density alumina-silicate ceramic were used as molding materials in order to investigate the effect of cooling rate on percentage of vermicular graphite and mechanical properties of the brake drum casting. Several thermocouples were inserted into the casting in the desired positions to measure the temperature change. By means of one-step cored wire injection, the two residual concentrations of Mg and RE were effectively controlled in the ranges of 0.013%-0.017% and 0.019%-0.025%, respectively, which are crucial for the production of vermicular graphite cast iron and the formation of vermicular graphite. In addition, the cooling rate had a significant effect on the vermicular graphite percentage. In the case of the silica mold brake drum casting, there was an obvious difference in the cooling rate with the wall change, leading to a change in vermicular graphite percentage from 70.8% to 90%. In the low-density alumina-silicate ceramic mold casting, no obvious change in temperature was detected by the thermocouples and the percentage of the vermicular graphite was stable at 85%. Therefore, the vermicular graphite cast iron brake drum with a better combination of mechanical properties could be obtained.

According to the study of the microstructure and properties of X100 pipeline steel, the welding consumable-wire based on Mn-Ni-Mo-B-Ti alloy system was successfully designed and developed. The yield strength of the deposited metal of the developed welding wire was 695 MPa, the tensile strength was 810 MPa, and Charpy impact energy was 92 J at negative 20 ℃ when matching with BSG-SJ101H1 sintered flux. The results of the weldability test for X100 pipeline steel which adopting this developed wire showed that the tensile strength of the weld was 827 MPa, 185 J of Charpy impact energy（ -10 ℃ ） , 97% of section of shear and the weld had good strength and toughness matching when the welding speed got to 1.7 m/min. The microstructure and fracture appearance of the weld were analyzed by using metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope （SEM） and laser confocal microscope, the results indicated that the microstructure was mainly granular bainite in the weld metal, and the fracture was dimple with 200 - 300 μm depth presenting a typical ductile fracture characteristics. The test of welding wire with different content of Ni and Cr element indicated that Ni was better than Cr in improving the strength and toughness of weld metal.

Isolation and Characterization of A Novel Fowl Adenovirus Serotype 8a Strain from China

Since 2012,the clinical cases of inclusion body hepatitis showed an increasing trend in China,causing considerable economic losses to the poultry *** this study,a fowl adenovirus strain CH/GDLZ/201801 was isolated from a chicken flock experiencing inclusion body hepatitis and analyzed by complete genome *** pathogenicity of the new virus strain was examined by experimental infection of specific pathogen free *** isolate was identified by immunofluorescence and the virions presented typical icosahedral particles under transmission electron *** full genome of the isolate was 44,329 nucleotides in length with 58%G+C *** analysis,based on the whole genome,revealed that the new isolate was closest to serotype 8a from the species Fowl aviadenovirus E(FAdVE).Recombination analysis and phylogenetic analysis showed that the new isolate is a recombinant strain between FAdV-8a and *** infection experiments,three infected chickens showed clinical signs and one chicken died on day 7 post infection,corresponding to 5%*** and microscopic lesions in the liver were observed,and viral antigen could be detected in the livers by immunohistochemical staining and *** together,our study describes the genomic characteristics and pathogenicity of a FAdV-8a strain in *** would lay a solid foundation for further study of the pathogenic mechanism and vaccine development of the virus.

Effect of Homogenization Treatment on the corrosion Behavior and Mechanism of Mg-Y Alloys

The effect of homogenization treatment on the corrosion behavior and corrosion mechanism of Mg-Y alloys in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution was investigated by electrochemical characterization, immersion testing and SEM observations. The diffusion kinetics model of Mg-Y alloy was established, and the homogenization system was determined. With increasing of homogenization temperature and time, the Mg24Y5 phase gradually decreased, which increased the self-corrosion potential and the high-frequency arc radius. The corrosion resistance of the five alloys could be given as follow: Mg-0.25Y corrosion in a wide range and small depth, while Mg- (8 and 15) Y showed localized corrosion in a smaller range and larger depth.
