The additivity rule has been employed to calculate the total cross sections for electron scattering by CF4,CFaH, CF2H2, and CFH3 molecules over an incident energy range from 100 to 3000 eV. Compared with other calculations and experimental data for CF4, excellent agreement has been obtained. Above 1000 eV, there are no experimental data for CF3H, CF2H2, and CFH3, so the present results can provide comparison and prediction for experimental research.

According to the recent experimental data, the time-dependent CP asymmetry SφKs for Ba → CKs decay might still be inconsistent with the standard model （SM） expectations. We try to understand the anomaly with a Z＇ model associated with flavour changing neutral currents （FCNCs） at the tree level. We find that （i） if neglecting the contributions from the right-handed flavour changing coupling Bsb^R and setting ξ^LL = ξ^LR =ξ and ξ^LL = ξ, ξ^LR = 0, we may obtain 0.01 〈ξ 〈 0.014, 0.0175 〈ξ〈 0.0205, 0.021 〈 ξ 〈 0.0255 and 0.004 〈 ξ 〈 0.008, 0.018 〈ξ 〈 0.028, 0.042 〈ξ〈 0.048 for the Bd → φKs decay, respectively; （ii） if considering the contributions coming from Bsb^R and setting ξ^LL = ξ^RL= ξ^LR = ξ,ξ^LR =ξ^RR=0, we can obtain 0.005 〈 ξ 〈 0.075, 0.0085 〈 ξ 〈 0.0105, 0.011 〈 ξ 〈 0.013 and 0.0125 〈 ξ 〈 0.0177, 0.0224 〈 ξ 〈 0.025. These results are consistent with the constraints and the assumptions in some literature.

In this paper, we calculated 37 structural descriptors of 174 organic compounds. The 154 molecules were used to derive quantitative structure - infinite dilution activity confficient relationship by genetic programming, the other 20 compounds were used to test the model. The result showed that molecular partition property and three-dimensional structural descriptors have significant influence on the infinite dilution activity coefficients.

The dominant decay modes of charged top-pions (πt^± ) are t-↑b or -↑tb. We consider the single production of charged top-pions in association with a top quark via e^+e^- annihilation and calculate the production cross section of the processes e^+e^- → -↑tbπ^+ (t-↑bπ^-) at the leading order. We find that it can reach 1.2 fb with reasonable parameter *** charged top-pions may be detected via the channel tbπ^± in the future high energy e^+e^- colliders.

The asymmetric binuclear copper(I) complex [Cu2(dppm)2(C7H7N)(-HCOO)](NO3) (dppm=Ph2PCH2PPh2, C7H7N=4-vinyl-pyridine) has been prepared and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The complex is photoluminescent at room temperature. It crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P-1 with a=1.2719(3) nm, b=1.8637(4) nm, c=1.1656(2) nm, =97.16(3), =104.94(3), =89.39(3), V=2.648.1(9) nm3, Dc=1.390 gcm-3, Z=2, =0.974 mm-1, R=0.0483 for 5716 independently observed reflections with I>2(I). The structure consists of [Cu2(dppm)2(C7H7N)(-HCOO)]+cations and nitrate anions. The copper atoms show dif-ferent coordination modes: Cu(1) displays a distorted trigonal and Cu(2) a tetrahedred geometry.

The effects of solution transformations to the six- and eight-vertex systems are discussed. There are four kinds of effects, the Hamiltonian of the system is invariant, its coupling coefficients change, some additional terms appear in the Hamiltonian, and the spin of the system is rotated by some angle about axis under these transformations. In all the cases, the systems are still integrable if they are so before the transformation.

The chemisorption of one monolayer of Fe atoms on a Au-passivated Si(001) surface is studied by using the selfconsistent tight-binding linear muffin-tin orbital method. The Fe adatom chemisorption on an ideal Si(001) surface is also considered for comparison. The chemisorption energy and layer projected density of states for a monolayer of Fe atoms on Au-passivated Si(001) surface are calculated and compared with that of the Fe atoms on an ideal Si(001)surface. The charge transfer is investigated. It is found that the most stable position is at the fourfold hollow site for the adsorbed Fe atoms, which might sit below the Au surface. Therefore there will be a Au-Fe mixed layer at the Fe/Au-Si(100) interface. It is found that the adsorbed Fe atoms cannot sit below the Si surface, indicating that a buffer layer of Au atoms may hinder the intermixing of Fe atoms and Si atoms at the Fe/Au-Si(001) interface effectively,which is in agreement with the experimental results.

The differentialcross sections of electron-Ar atom scattering for free-free transition with one and two photons absorption in the presence of CO2 laser field is obtained by the second Born approximation, the direction of laser polarization being perpendicular to the change of electron momentum. Compared with the more recent available experimental data, the present results are very good.
