Objective China is among the 30 countries with a high burden of tuberculosis(TB)worldwide,and TB remains a public health *** Prefecture in the southern xinjiang Autonomous Region is considered as one of the highest TB burden regions in ***,molecular epidemiological studies of Kashgar are *** A population-based retrospective study was conducted using whole-genome sequencing(WGS)to determine the characteristics of drug resistance and the transmission *** A total of 1,668 isolates collected in 2020 were classified into lineages 2(46.0%),3(27.5%),and 4(26.5%).The drug resistance rates revealed by WGS showed that the top three drugs in terms of the resistance rate were isoniazid(7.4%,124/1,668),streptomycin(6.0%,100/1,668),and rifampicin(3.3%,55/1,668).The rate of rifampicin resistance was 1.8%(23/1,290)in the new cases and 9.4%(32/340)in the previously treated *** resistance mutations were detected more frequently in lineage 2 strains than in lineage 3 or 4 strains,respectively:18.6%vs.8.7 or 9%,P<*** estimated proportion of recent transmissions was 25.9%(432/1,668).Multivariate logistic analyses indicated that sex,age,occupation,lineage,and drug resistance were the risk factors for recent *** the low rate of drug resistance,drug-resistant strains had a higher risk of recent transmission than the susceptible strains(adjusted odds ratio,1.414;95%CI,1.023–1.954;P=0.036).Among all patients with drug-resistant tuberculosis(DR-TB),78.4%(171/218)were attributed to the transmission of DR-TB *** Our results suggest that drug-resistant strains are more transmissible than susceptible strains and that transmission is the major driving force of the current DR-TB epidemic in Kashgar.

Development of a competitive array for discriminative determination of amphenicols in egg based on ribosomal protein L16

A holistic strategy for quality and safety control of traditional Chinese medicines by the “iVarious” standard system

An effective quality control system is the key to ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of traditional Chinese medicines(TCMs). However, the current quality standard research lacks top-level design and systematic design,mostly based on specific technologies or evaluation methods. To resolve the challenges and questions of quality control of TCMs, a brand-new quality standard system, named "iVarious", was proposed. The system comprises eight elements in a modular format. Meaning of every element was specifically illustrated via corresponding research instances. Furthermore, frankincense study was taken as an example for demonstrating standards and research process, based on the "i Various" system. This system highlighted a holistic strategy for effectiveness,security, integrity and systematization of quality and safety control standards of TCMs. The establishment of"i Various" integrates multi-disciplinary technologies and progressive methods, basis elements and key points of standard construction. The system provides a novel idea and technological demonstration for regulation establishment of TCMs quality standards.

The association between the metabolites of intestinal flora and diabetes mellitus

Objective To contrast and analyze the difference of metabolites of intestinal flora between patients with type 2diabetes and normal blood glucose human in xinjiang Uygur and *** Uygur fecal samples and Kazak fecal samples were collected,and short-chain fatty acids(SCFA)were extracted by water from feces,then the content of SCFA in fecal samples was analyzed by gas-chromatography mass-spectrometry(GC-MS).Results Both Uygurs and Kazaks,in their feces,the content of SCFA in the feces showed significantly decreased in patients with type 2diabetes,and a significant negative linear correlation was shown between the fasting plasma glucose and the concentration of SCFA in the fecal ***,there was no statistical differences between uygurs and kazaks,in not only normal blood glucose group,but also type 2 diabetes *** The feces of patients with type 2diabetes has an decreased concentration of *** Uygurs and Kazaks,the metabolic changes of intestinal flora was similar in patients with type 2diabetes.

Epidemiological Studies on Cystic Echinococcosis in China─A Review

In the four decades from 1951 to 1990, the six provinces or autonomous regions (xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Ningxia, Xizang and Nei Monggol) reported a total of 26 065surgical cases of hydatid disease, most of which were reported in the recent decade. About one third of the patients was children and adolescents under 15 years old. So far, cystic hydatid infections of local origin have been confirmed in 22 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the whole nation. Findings of X-ray examination and real-time B-mode ultrasonography in agricultural and pastoral areas of xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai,Ningxia and Xizang showed that the morbidity rate of hydatidosis in human population varied between 0.5% and 4.5%. The main animal intermediate host in all these regions is sheep, the morbidity of which varied between 3.3% and 90%. The infection rate of adult Echinococcus granulosus in dogs varied between 7% and 71%. The high-risk period for humans contracting hydatid disease is the pre-school age. Direct contact of children with dogs and ingestion of water, vegetables and foods contaminated by worm eggs are the chief mode of transmission for human hydatidosis. Introduction:Foodborne botulism is a rare,potentially fatal illness resulting from the ingestion of foods contaminated with preformed botulinum neurotoxin types A,B,E,or F,produced by Clostridium *** descriptive epidemiology of foodborne botulism outbreaks in China during 2004−2020 was performed to inform public health response ***:Data from 22 of 31 provincial-level administrative divisions(PLADs)of the National Foodborne Disease Outbreaks Surveillance System during 2004−2020 and Embase,China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and Chinese Science and Technique Journals(CQVIP)from January 2004 to December 2020 to identify indexed publications in the Chinese literature using the following search terms“botulism,”or“botulinum toxin,”or“Clostridium botulinum.”The number and proportion of outbreaks,illnesses,and deaths by PLAD,food types,and contributing factors were ***:During 2004−2020,a total of 80 foodborne botulism outbreaks occurred in China,involving 386 illnesses and 55 deaths;most outbreaks were reported between June and August,with a sharp peak in January;22 out of 31 PLADs reported foodborne botulism outbreaks,xinjiang reported the largest number of outbreaks(20),followed by Qinghai(13);the most commonly implicated foods were homeprepared traditional processed stinky tofu and dried beef,accounting for 51.25%*** processing and improper storage in contributing factors accounted for 77.50%*** misdiagnosis occurred in 27.50%of ***:Outbreaks of foodborne botulism had a high case-fatality *** food safety and popularization education to farmers and herdsmen in xinjiang and Qinghai related to botulism prevention should be carried out,and timely outbreak investigation and hospital surge capacity should be improved.

Mechanism of Ascorbic Acid-induced Reversion Against Malignant Phenotype in Human Gastric Cancer Cells

Objective To find out the mechanisms of redifferentiation and reversion of malignant human gastric cancer cells induced by ascorbic acid. Methods Human gastric cancer cells grown in the laboratory were used. The Trypan blue dye exclusion method was used to determine the cell doubling time. The electrophoresis rate and colonogenic potential were the indices used to measure the rate of redifferentiation. The content of malondialdehyde （MDA） was measured using the thiobarbituric acid （TBA） method. The activities of superoxide dismutase （SOD）, catalase （CAT） and the content of H2O2 were evaluated by spectrophotography. Results Six mmol/L ascorbic acid was used as a positive control. Human gastric cancer cells were treated with 75 μm hydrogen peroxide, which alleviated many of the malignant characteristics. For example, the cell surface charge obviously decreased and the electrophoresis rate dropped from 2.21 to 1.10 pm·s^-1·cm^-1 The colonogenic potential, a measure of cell differentiation, decreased 90.2%. After treatment with ascorbic acid, there was a concentration- and time-dependent increase in hydrogen peroxide （H2O2） and the activity of superoxide dismutase （SOD）. However, the activity of catalase （CAT） resulted in a concentration- and time-dependent decrease. SOD and 3-amino- 1,2,4-triazole （AT） exhibited some effects, but there were statistically significant differences between the SOD and AT group and the H2O2 group, Conclusions Ascurbic acid induces growth inhibition and redifferentiation of human gastric cancer cells through the production of hydrogen peroxide.

Combination therapy using low‐dose anlotinib and immune checkpoint inhibitors for extensive‐stage small cell lung cancer

Background:This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of low‐dose anlotinib combined with immune checkpoint inhibitors as second‐line or later treatment for extensive‐stage small cell lung cancer(ES‐SCLC).Methods:The study included 42 patients with ES‐SCLC who were treated with low‐dose anlotinib combined with programmed cell death protein 1/programmed cell death‐ligand 1 inhibitors at Henan Cancer Hospital between March 2019 and August *** retrospectively analyzed the efficacy and safety data for these *** assessed included progression‐free survival(PFS),overall survival(OS),the overall response rate(ORR),the disease control rate(DCR),and adverse events(AEs).Prognostic factors were identified in univariate and multivariate ***:Median PFS was 11.0 months(95%CI:7.868–14.132)and median OS was 17.3 months(95%CI:11.517–23.083).The ORR was 28.5%and the DCR was 95.2%.Treatment‐related AEs were noted in 27 patients(64.3%),the most common of which was thyroid dysfunction(26.2%).Grade 3/4 treatmentrelated AEs were observed in two patients(4.8%).Conclusions:A combination of low‐dose anlotinib and immune checkpoint inhibitors as second‐line or later treatment for ES‐SCLC may achieve longer PFS and OS and have manageable AEs.

Design, Synthesis and Biological Activity of Novel Furocoumarin Derivatives as Stimulators of Melanogenesis and Tyrosinase in B16 Cells

Sixteen novel and four known（4a, 4d, 4e, 4h） amine derivatives of furocoumarin were synthesized, then submitted to evaluation as stimulators of melanogenesis and tyrosinase in B16 murine cells. Among them, five compounds（4g, 4j-4m） showed potent activating effect on both melanogenesis and tyrosinase in vitro compared with positive control（8-MOP）, the most widely used drugs for vitiligo in clinic. Noticeably, compotmds 4h and 4j, which contain morpholine and piperazine, were recognized as the most effective stimnlator of melanogenesis and tyrosianse in B16 cells separately. These derivatives may serve as lead compounds for further drug discovery for the treatment of vitiligo.

Objective This study assesses the impact of iodine-rich processed foods and dining places on the iodine nutritional status of *** School-aged children(SAC) in seven provinces in China were selected by school-based multistage sampling. Urinary iodine, salt iodine, and thyroid volume(TVOL) were determined. Questionnaires were used to investigate dining places and iodine-rich processed foods. The water iodine was from the2017 national survey. Multi-factor regression analysis was used to find correlations between *** Children ate 78.7% of their meals at home, 15.1% at school canteens, and 6.1% at other *** percentage of daily iodine intake from water, iodized salt, iodine-rich processed foods, and cooked food were 1.0%, 79.2%, 1.5%, and 18.4%, respectively. The salt iodine was correlated with the urinary iodine and TVOL, respectively(r = 0.999 and-0.997, P foods was weakly correlated with the TVOL(r = 0.080, P foods or diets when eating out had less effect on children’s iodine nutrition *** Iodized salt remains the primary source of daily iodine intake of SAC, and processed food has less effect on iodine nutrition. Therefore, for children, iodized salt should be a compulsory supplement in their routine diet.
