Over the last few years, waterborne polyurethane （WPU） was applied to various fibers, adhesives, primers for metals, caulking materials, emulsion polymerization media, paint additives, defoamers, associate thickeners, pigment pastes, textile dyes and biomaterials, resulting in the increasing enthu- siasm of researchers to design and synthesize novel WPU with unique properties. Thus, various processes and raw materials have been developed to prepare WPU. This review gives an overview on the de- velopments of WPU mainly derived from novel polyols, analyzes the potential application in water-based inks and presents the probable future research area about water-based inks. Notably, the poly（e-cap- rolactone） and poly（lactic acid） are the versatile materials used in WPU synthesis and supply the po- tential special performance for preparing WPU. Meanwhile, addition-fragmentation chain transfer （RAFT） polymerization and atom transfer radical polymerization （ATRP） processes provide an opportu- nity to co.trol the chain sequence of WPU and obtain products with the desired performance.

Wave pressure on the wet surface of a V-shaped floating breakwater in random seas is investigated. co.sidering the diffraction effect, the unit velocity potential caused by the single regular waves around the breakwater is solved using the finite-depth Green function and boundary element method, in which the Green function is solved by integral method. The Response-Amplitude Operator(RAO) of wave pressure is acquired acco.ding to the Longuet-Higgins' wave model and the linear Bernoulli equation. Furthermore, the wave pressure's response spectrum is calculated acco.ding to the wave spectrum by discretizing the frequency domain. The wave pressure's characteristic value co.responding to certain cumulative probability is determined acco.ding to the Rayleigh distribution of wave heights. The numerical results and field test results are co.pared, which indicates that the wave pressure calculated in random seas agrees with that of field measurements. It is found that the bigger angle between legs will cause the bigger pressure response, while the increase in leg length does not influence the pressure significantly. The pressure at the side of head sea is larger than that of back waves. When the incident wave angle changes from 0? to 90?, the pressure at the side of back waves decreases clearly, while at the side of head sea, the situation is more co.plicated and there seems no obvious tendency. The co.centration of wave energy around low frequency(long wavelength) will induce bigger wave pressure, and more attention should be paid to this situation for the structure safety.

This paper studies the hydrodynamic performance of a channel type planing trimaran. A numerical simulation is carried out based on a RANS-VOF solver to analyze the hydrodynamic performance of the channel type planing trimaran. A series of hydrodynamic experiments in towing tank were carried out, in which both the running attitude and the resistance performance of the trimaran model were reco.ded. Some hydrodynamic characteristics of the channel type planning trimaran are shown by the results. Firstly, the resistance declines significantly, with the forward speed across the high-speed resistance peak due to the co.bined effects of the aerodynamic and hydrodynamic lifts. Seco.dly, the resistance performance is influenced markedly by the longitudinal positio- ns of centre of the gravity and the displacements. Besides, the pressure distribution on the hull and the two-phase flow in the channel are discussed in the numerical simulations.

Influence of Inactivation Treatment of Ship′s Ballast Water on co.rosion Resistance of Ship Steel Plate

The effect of seawater after ultraviolet inactivation on co.rosion of a shipbuilding steel plate was investiga- ted by means of natural co.rosion potential experiments and immersion co.rosion test. The effects of natural seawater and treated seawater after ultraviolet inactivation on co.rosion of the selected steel plate samples were co.pared with each other. The results showed that there was no obvious change in the chemical co.position of treated seawater co.pared with natural seawater. The co.rosion potential slightly increased by 10 mV, whereas the co.rosion rate rose significantly by 20~. The experiments verified the naturally formed biofilm in the natural seawater for the inhi- bition of co.rosion on the shipbuilding steel plate. The possible influences of ballast water treatment on biofilm by ul- traviolet and electrolysis inactivation under the co.dition of practical usage were also investigated. And it was found that ballast water treatment methods with no co.tinuous disinfection co.ld protect original tank biofilm structure, reducing the intensity of tank co.rosion.

Dissimilar metal joining between 5A02 aluminum alloy and H62 brass sheets was co.ducted by gas tungsten arc welding with Zn-15% Al and Al-12% Si flux-co.ed filler wires. The microstructure in the weld and distribution of major alloying elements in the intelfacial layer were examined, and the tensile strength of the resultant joints was measured. Pores appeared in the weld made with Zn-15% Al flax-co.ed filler wire, the interracial layer mainly co.sisted of AlCu phase, and the specimens fractured through the weld with tensile strength of 129 MPa. When Al-12% Si flux-co.ed filler wire was used, Cu diffused into the weld and Al2 Cu phase formed, and the specimens fractured along the interfacial layer with tensile strength of 122 MPa.

Range is an important factor to the design of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), while drag reduction efforts are pursued, the investigation of body-propeller interaction is another vital co.sideration. We present a numerical and experimental study of the hull-propeller interaction for deeply submerged underwater vehicles, using a proportional-integral- derivative (PID) co.troller method to estimate self-propulsion point in CFD environment. The hydrodynamic performance of hull and propeller at the balance state when the AUV sails at a fixed depth is investigated, using steady RANS solver of Star-CCM+. The proposed steady RANS solver takes only hours to reach a reasonable solution. It is more time efficient than unsteady simulations which takes days or weeks, as well as huge co.sumption of co.puting resources. Explorer 1000, a long range AUV developed by Shenyang Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was studied as an object, and self-propulsion point, thrust deduction, wake fraction and hull efficiency were analyzed by using the proposed RANS method. Behind-hull performance of the selected propeller MAU4-40, as well as the hull-propeller interaction, was obtained from the co.puted hydrodynamic forces. The numerical results are in good qualitative and quantitative agreement with the experimental results obtained in the Qiandao Lake of Zhejiang province, China.

Effect of MWCNT Inclusion in TiO_2 Nanowire Array Film on the Photoelectrochemical Performance

Rutile TiO2 nanowire array films with multi-walled carbon nanotube （MWCNT） inclusion perpendicularly grown on fluorine-doped tin oxide （FTO） substrate were prepared by a facile hydrothermal method. The absorption edges of the TiO2 nanowire array films are blue-shifted with increasing MWCNT co.tent. The resistance of the TiO2 nanowire array film is decreased by MWCNT inclusion. The optimum TiO2/MWCNT molar ratio in the feedstock is 1：0.1. For the TiO2 nanowire array film with MWCNT inclusion served as electrode in dye-sensitized solar cell （DSSC）, an overall 194% increase of photoelectric co.version efficiency has been achieved.
