BACKGROUND Carcinosarcomas of the common bile duct(CBD)are an extremely rare finding in the clinical *** on a review of 12 literatures,3 cases had the imaging features of *** are prone to distant metastasis,as they possess clinical features of both carcinoma and sarcoma,and generally have with a poor *** to the small number of cases reported,clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease is *** SUMMARY The patient was a 75-year-old woman who had experienced recurrent chills with nausea and vomiting for 3 *** tomography,magnetic resonance imaging,endoscopic ultrasonography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography led to the diagnosis of malignant tumor of the *** patient ultimately underwent cholecystectomy,CBD resection,and *** pathological examination revealed carcinosarcoma of the CBD,and the latest follow-up showed that the patient is recovering *** on previous case reports,some carcinosarcoma has ossification characteristics in *** it is misdiagnosed as biliary calculi,the use of laser lithotripsy in surgery may lead to tumor *** and narrow band staining of mucosa are very important for *** We herein present a rare case of carcinosarcomas of the CBD,we found the tumours may have imaging features of polypoid growth and ossification only when the sarcomal components are bone differentiation,while show soft tissue shadow when non bone *** of diagnosis depends greatly upon postoperative pathological examination and the adjuvant treatment has not been established,which leads to the poor prognosis.

BACKGROUND Floating elbow along with ipsilateral multiple segmental forearm fracture is a rare and high-energy injury,although elbow dislocation or fracture of the ulna and radius may occur *** SUMMARY We report the case of a 37-year-old woman with open(IIIA)fracture of the right distal humerus with multiple shaft fractures of the ipsilateral radius and ulna with a history of falling from a height of almost 20 m from a *** providing advanced trauma life support,damage control surgery was performed to debride the arm wound and temporarily stabilize the right upper limb with external fixators in the emergency operating ***,one-stage internal fixation of multiple fractures was performed with normal values of biochemical indicators and reduction in limb *** patient achieved good outcome at the 7 mo *** One-or two-stage treatment must be performed according to the type of injury;we efficiently used the“damage control principle.”

Antifibrotic Effect of Total Flavonoids of Astmgali Radix on Dimethylnitrosamine-lnduced Liver Cirrhosis in Rats

Currently approved vaccines have been successful in preventing the severity of COVID-19 and hospitalization. These vaccines primarily induce humoral immune responses;however, highly transmissible and mutated variants, such as the Omicron variant, weaken the neutralization potential of the vaccines, thus,raising serious concerns about their efficacy. Additionally, while neutralizing antibodies(nAbs) tend to wane more rapidly than cell-mediated immunity, long-lasting T cells typically prevent severe viral illness by directly killing infected cells or aiding other immune cells. Importantly, T cells are more cross-reactive than antibodies, thus, highly mutated variants are less likely to escape lasting broadly cross-reactive T cell immunity. Therefore, T cell antigen-based human coronavirus(HCoV) vaccines with the potential to serve as a supplementary weapon to combat emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants with resistance to n Abs are urgently needed. Alternatively, T cell antigens could also be included in B cell antigen-based vaccines to strengthen vaccine efficacy. This review summarizes recent advancements in research and development of vaccines containing T cell antigens or both T and B cell antigens derived from proteins of SARS-CoV-2 variants and/or other HCo Vs based on different vaccine platforms.

Dear editor,The left atrial appendage(LAA)is the most common site for thrombus formation in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF).[1]We present the case of a patient with AF who underwent LAA closure(LAAC)with Watchman(Atritech,Boston Scientific,USA),in whom extracranial systemic embolic events(SEEs)with left atrial thrombus were observed after 4 years,and discuss relevant literature to improve the understanding of SEEs.

Clinical Observation on Acupoint Application in the Hottest Summer Days for Asthmatic Diseases

Objective： To observe the clinical effects of acupoint application therapy for asthmatic diseases in the hottest of summer days. Methods： 500 cases of patients with asthmatic diseases were treated by applying a herbal drug on the acupoints in the hottest summer days, namely herbal cake stuck on the acupoint with a piece of plaster, for 6 h every time, once respectively in the first, second and third period of the hottest summer days. Six months after the last session, the clinical effects were assessed by questionnaire. Results： In 500 cases of the patients, the results showed a remarkable effect in 267 cases, improvement in 182 cases, failure in 51 cases and the effective rate was 89.9%. Conclusion： The therapeutic effects are positive in the application of a herbal drug on an acupoint for asthmatic diseases. This method is convenient and needs to be popularized clinically.

INDUCTION OF APOPTOSIS BY SeO_2 IN HUMAN LUNG CARCINOMA CELL LINE GLC-82

Objective: To investigate the effect of selenium dioxide (SeO2) on human pulmonary adenocarcinoma GLC-82 cell lines to reveal its probable mechanism and the relationship between apoptosis and SeO2. Methods: Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) method, flow cytometry (FCM), DNA agarose gel electrophoresis, light and electron microscope were used to study cell apoptosis in human pulmonary adenocarcinoma cell line GLC-82 treated by SeO2 at different concentrations (3, 10, 30 mmol/L) and for different times (24, 48, and 72 h). Results: SeO2 significantly inhibited the proliferation and induced the cell apoptosis of GLC-82 at the different concentrations after treatment of 48 h and 72 h. Conclusion: Selenium dioxide could inhibit the growth of lung cancer GLC-82 cells through inducing apoptosis. The effect of inhibition is dose-dependant and time-dependant.

Exosomes in Parkinson's Disease

Exosomes, nano-sized extracellular vesicles secreted by most cell types, are found in all kinds of biological fluids and tissues, including the central nervous system（CNS）. The proposed functions of these vesicles include roles in cell–cell signaling, removal of cellular debris, and transfer of pathogens between cells. Many studies have revealed that exosomes derived from the CNS occur in the cerebrospinal fluid and peripheral body fluids,and their contents are altered during disease, making them an appealing target for biomarker development in Parkinson＇s disease（PD）. Exosomes have been shown to spread toxic a-synuclein（asyn） between cells and induce apoptosis, which suggests a key mechanism underlying the spread of asyn aggregates in the brain and the acceleration of pathology in PD. However, potential neuroprotective roles of exosomes in PD have also been reported. On the treatment side, as drug delivery vehicles, exosomes have been used to deliver small interfering RNAs and catalase to the brain, and have shown clear therapeutic effects in a mouse model of PD. These features of exosomes in PD make them extremely interesting from the point of view of developing novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
