Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of intradermal needles and moxibustion combined with bladder irrigation in the treatment of post-stroke urinary retention and its effect on the patient’s quality of life and depressive ***:A total of 80 patients with post-stroke urinary retention were divided into an observation group and a control group by the random number table method,with 45 patients in each *** groups received the same basic *** the control group,bladder irrigation was added;in the observation group,intradermal needles and moxibustion were added in addition to the treatment in the control *** 2 weeks of continuous treatment,the clinical efficacy and the occurrence of adverse events were compared between the two groups,and the changes in the traditional Chinese medicine(tcm)symptom score,urinary function,quality of life,and depressive mood were ***:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(Ptcm symptom score,residual urine volume,subjective quality of life profile score,and self-rating depression scale score of both groups were significantly reduced(Pgroup were significantly lower than those of the control group(Pgroups(Pgroup than in the control group(P<0.05).No needle shock,needle breakage,or allergic reaction happened in the two ***:Based on conventional treatment,the efficacy of intradermal needles and moxibustion combined with bladder irrigation in the treatment of post-stroke urinary retention was better than that of bladder *** was effective in reducing clinical symptoms,improving urinary function,improving quality of life and depression,and had a good safety profile.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the difference in gut microbiota between population with damp-heat constitution(DHC) and balanced constitution(BC). METHODS: A multi-centered cross-sectional casecontrol study was conducted, which included 249 participants with damp-heat constitution or balanced constitution. Baseline information of participants was collected, and stool samples were collected for gut microbiota analysis. Principal coordinate analysis, linear discriminant analysis effect size analysis, receiver operating characteristic, random forest model, and phylogenetic investigation of communities by reconstruction of unobserved states methods were used to reveal the relationship between gut microbiota and the damp-heat constitution. RESULTS: Compared to those in the BC group, the richness and diversity of the microbiota, specifically those of several short-chain fatty acid producing genera such as Barnesiella, Coprobacter, and Butyricimonas, were significantly decreased in the DHC group. Regarding biological functions, flavonoid biosynthesis, propanoate metabolism, and nucleotide sugar metabolism were suppressed, while arachidonic acid metabolism and glutathione metabolism were enriched in the DHC group. Finally, a classifier based on the microbiota was constructed to discriminate between the DHC and BC populations. CONCLUSION: The gut microbiota of the DHC population exhibits significantly reduced diversity and is closely related to inflammation, metabolic disorders, and liver steatosis, which is consistent with clinical observations, thus serving as a potential diagnostic tool for traditional Chinese medicine constitution discrimination.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the treatment efficacy of integrated Chinese medicine(Chaihu Shugan San, 柴胡疏肝散, CSS) and western therapy in the treatment of adhesive intestinal obstruction(AIO), to provide new ideas for the management of the disease. METHODS: In our single-blind randomized controlled study, 120 patients with AIO who were hospitalized in The Affiliated hospital of China West Normal University Nan Chong Gaoping District People's hospital from January 2021 to June 2022 and met the inclusion criteria were categorized into the treatment group and the control group. Patients from the control group were administered basic Western Medicine therapy, whereas patients from the treatment group were administered basic Western Medicine therapy plus CSS by gastric tube injection. Subsequently, the time to first anal exhaustion and defecation, time to relief of abdominal distension and pain, days of hospitalization, Traditional Chinese Medicine(tcm) symptom scores, interleukin-6(IL-6), C-reactive protein(CRP) and procalcitonin(PCT) levels in the 2 groups were recorded and compared. RESULTS: The comparison of clinical efficacy of the treatment group were better than the control group. The tcm symptom score was considerably lower in the treatment group; the inflammation indicators CRP, IL-6, and PCT also decreased statistically when comparing the control group. Furthermore, there were significantly reduced in the time to first exhaustion, time to first defecation, time to relief of abdominal pain and distension, and days of hospitalization in the treatment group versus the control group. CONCLUSION: CSS could suppress the inflammatory reaction, reduce days of hospitalization, relieve clinical symptoms in AIO patients with reliable efficacy and high safety and is worthy of clinical application.

OBJECTIVE: To illustrate the effect of add-on therapy of Traditional Chinese Medicine(tcm) on the long-term survival of anemic lower-risk myelodysplastic syndromes(LR-MDS) patients. METHODS: In this study, we conducted a retrospective analysis of the data of patients with LR-MDS who were identified from Shuguang hospital between January 2006 and June 2020. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate overall survival(OS), while the Cox model was employed to analyze prognostic factors of long-term survival. A total of 162 patients who met the inclusion criteria were divided into two groups: the tcm group(n = 78) or the non-tcm group(n = 84). RESULTS: There were no significant differences in baseline characteristics. The cumulative survival rate of the tcm group was significantly higher than that of the non-tcm group [log-rank P = 0.029, hazard ratio(HR) = 0.484, 95% confidence interval(CI)(0.249, 0.942), P tcm treatment appeared to have better OS(≥ 12 months vs tcm and conventional Western Medicine may be a protective factor affecting the long-term survival of LR-MDS patients [HR = 0.509, 95% CI,(0.261, 0.993), P = 0.048]. The hematologic improvement erythroid response(HI-E) rate of the tcm group was significantly higher than that of the non-tcm group(69.23% vs 52.38%; P = 0.028). However, the duration of HI-E and cases of disease progression after HI-E did not significantly differ from the non-tcm group(P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: The integration of tcm and Western Medicine has the potential to extend the OS of LR-MDS patients when compared to the use of Western Medicine alone.
