Image format pipeline and instrument diagram recognition method based on deep learning

In this study,we proposed a recognition method based on deep artificial neural networks to identify various elements in pipelines and instrumentation diagrams(P&ID)in image formats,such as symbols,texts,and ***,the P&ID image format is recognized manually,and there is a problem with a high recognition error rate;therefore,automation of the above process is an important issue in the processing plant *** China National Offshore Petrochemical Engineering *** the image set used in this study,which contains 51 P&ID drawings in the *** converted the PDF P&ID drawings to PNG P&IDs with an image size of 8410×*** addition,we used labeling software to annotate the images,divided the dataset into training and test sets in a 3:1 ratio,and deployed a deep neural network for *** method proposed in this study is divided into three *** first step segments the images and recognizes symbols using YOLOv5+*** second step determines text regions using character region awareness for text detection,and performs character recognition within the text region using the optical character recognition *** third step is pipeline recognition using YOLOv5+*** symbol recognition accuracy was 94.52%,and the recall rate was 93.27%.The recognition accuracy in the text positioning stage was 97.26%and the recall rate was 90.27%.The recognition accuracy in the character recognition stage was 90.03%and the recall rate was 91.87%.The pipeline identification accuracy was 92.9%,and the recall rate was 90.36%.

Study on the mechanism and reaction characteristics of metal-supported phosphogypsum as oxygen carrier in a chemical looping gasification application

This study aimed to explore the chemical looping gasification(CLG)reaction characteristics of the metal-supported composite phosphogypsum(PG)oxygen carriers(OCs)and the thermodynamic *** FactSage 7.1 thermodynamic simulation was used to explore the oxygen release and H_(2)S removal *** experimental results showed that the syngas yield of CLG with PG-CuFe_(2)O_(4)was more than that with PG-Fe_(2)O_(3)20/CuO40 or PG-Fe_(2)O_(3)30/CuO30 OC at 1023 K when the water vapor content was ***,the maximum syngas yield of the CO selectivity was 70.3% and of the CO_(2)selectivity was 23.8%.The H_(2)/CO value was 0.78,and the highest carbon conversion efficiency was 91.9% in PG-CuFe_(2)O_(4)at the gasification temperature of 1073 *** metal-supported PG composite oxygen carrier was proved not only as an oxygen carrier to participate in the preparation of syngas but also as a catalyst to catalyze coal gasification ***,both the experimental results and FactSage 7.1 thermodynamic analysis revealed that the trapping mechanism of H_(2)S by composite OCs was as follows:CuO first lost lattice oxygen as an oxygen carrier to generate Cu_(2)O,which,in turn,reacted with H_(2)S to generate Cu_(2)*** study provided efficient guidance and reference for OC design in CLG.

Dynamic response of buildings under debris flow impact

This study employs the smoothed particle hydrodynamics–finite element method(SPH–FEM) coupling numerical method to investigate the impact of debris flow on reinforced concrete(RC)-frame buildings. The methodology considers the variables of debris flow depth and velocity and introduces the intensity index IDV(IDV = DV) to evaluate three different levels of debris flow impact intensity. The primary focus of this study is to investigate the dynamic response and failure mechanism of RC-frame buildings under debris flow impact, including structural failure patterns, impact force and column displacement. The results show that under a highintensity impact, a gradual collapse process of the RCframe building can be observed, and the damage mode of the frame column reflects shear failure or plastic hinge failure mechanism. First, the longitudinal infill walls are damaged owing to their low out-of-plane flexural capacity;the critical failure intensity index IDV value is approximately 7.5 m2/s. The structure cannot withstand debris flows with an intensity index IDV greater than 16 m2/s, and it is recommended that the peak impact force should not exceed 2100 k N. The impact damage ability of debris flow on buildings mostly originates from the impact force of the frontal debris flow, with the impact force of the debris flow body being approximately 42% lower than that of the debris flow head. Finally, a five-level classification system for evaluating the damage status of buildings is proposed based on the numerical simulation and investigation results of the disaster site.

Effect of initial ammonium concentration on a one-stage partial nitrification/anammox biofilm system:Nitrogen removal performance and the microbial community

One-stage partial nitrification coupled with anammox(PN/A)technology effectively reduces the energy consumption of a biological nitrogen removal *** nitrite-oxidizing bacteria(NOB)is essential for this technology to maintain efficient nitrogen removal *** ammonium concentration(IAC)affects the degree of inhibited *** this study,the effect of the IAC on a PN/A biofilm was investigated in a moving bed biofilm *** results showed that nitrogen removal efficiency decreased from 82.49%±1.90%to 64.57%±3.96%after the IAC was reduced from 60 to 20 mg N/L,while the nitrate production ratio increased from 13.87%±0.90%to 26.50%±3.76%.NOB activity increased to1,133.86 mg N/m^(2)/day after the IAC decreased,approximately 4-fold,indicating that the IAC plays an important inhibitory role in *** rate-limiting step in the mature biofilm of the PN/A system is the nitritation process and is not shifted by the *** analysis of the microbial community structure in the biofilm indicates that the IAC was the dominant factor in changes in community *** and *** were the main anammox bacteria,and Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira were the main AOB and NOB,*** did not affect the difference in growth between *** and ***,modulating the IAC promoted the PN/A process with efficient nitrogen removal performance at medium to low ammonium concentrations.

Machine learning assisted adsorption performance evaluation of biochar on heavy metal

Heavy metals(HMs)represent pervasive and highly toxic environmental pollutants,known for their long latency periods and high toxicity levels,which pose significant challenges for their removal and ***,the removal of heavy metals from the environment is crucial to ensure the water *** materials,known for their intricate pore structures and abundant oxygen-containing functional groups,are frequently harnessed for their effectiveness in mitigating heavy metal ***,conventional tests for optimizing biochar synthesis and assessing their heavy metal adsorption capabilities can be both costly and *** address this challenge,this paper proposes a data-driven machine learning(ML)approach to identify the optimal biochar preparation and adsorption reaction conditions,with the ultimate goal of maximizing their adsorption *** utilizing a data set comprising 476 instances of heavy metal absorption by biochar,seven classical integrated models and one stacking model were trained to rapidly predict the efficiency of heavy metal adsorption by *** predictions were based on diverse physicochemical properties of biochar and the specific adsorption reaction *** results demonstrate that the stacking model,which integrates multiple algorithms,allows for training with fewer samples to achieve higher prediction accuracy and improved generalization ability.

Evaluating CMIP6 models in simulating the North Pacific decadal variability in sea surface salinity

The North Pacific sea surface salinity(SSS)decadal variability(NPSDV)and its potential forcing were evaluated from 25 coupled models of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 6(CMIP6)considering the prospects for decadal climate *** results indicated that the CMIP6 models generally reproduced the spatial patterns of *** large standard deviation of the SSS anomaly over the strong current regions,such as the Kuroshio-Oyashio Extension(KOE),North Pacific Current(NPC),California Current System(CCS),and Alaskan Coastal Current(ACC),is reflected in the two leading modes of NPSDV:a dipole with out-of-phase loadings in the KOE-NPC versus CCS-ACC and a monopole with positive loading over the *** order of modes is sensitive to individual models that exhibit discrepancies,especially in temporal phases and power *** autoregressive model of order-1 was used to reconstruct the NPSDV with several forcing *** generally weaker influence of forcings in an autoregressive model of order-1 is partly related to the overestimated response time of NPSDV relative to *** NPSDV variances originate from the persistence of SSS anomalies,but the dominant forcing factors are diverse among *** model diversity for the NPSDV simulation mainly arises from the influence of the tropical El Ni?o-Southern Oscillation through teleconnection on the North Pacific Oscillation or Aleutian Low with timescale ***,models that can reproduce the NPSDV well are not dependent on those with larger impacts from the North Pacific oceanic processes.

Effect mechanism of seepage force on the hydraulic fracture propagation

The flow of fluid through the porous matrix of a reservoir rock applies a seepage force to the solid rock *** the seepage force exerted by fluid flow through the porous matrix of a reservoir rock has a notable influence on rock deformation and failure,its effect on hydraulic fracture(HF)propagation remains ***,in this study,we improved a traditional fluid–solid coupling method by incorporating the role of seepage force during the fracturing fluid seepage,using the discrete element ***,we validated the simulation results of the improved method by comparing them with an analytical solution of the seepage force and published experimental ***,we conducted numerical simulations in both homogeneous and heterogeneous sandstone formations to investigate the influence of seepage force on HF *** results indicate that fluid viscosity has a greater impact on the magnitude and extent of seepage force compared to injection rate,and that lower viscosity and injection rate correspond to shorter hydraulic fracture ***,seepage force influences the direction of HF propagation,causing HFs to deflect towards the side of the reservoir with weaker cementation and higher permeability.

Actinobacterial community is a conspicuous part of aquatic ecosystems and displays an important role in the case of biogeochemical cycle,but little is known about the seasonal variation of actinobacterial community in reservoir ecological *** this study,the high-throughput techniques were used to investigate the structure of the aquatic actinobacterial community and its inducing water quality parameters in different *** results showed that the highest diversity and abundance of actinobacterial community occurred in winter,with Sporichthya(45.42%)being the most abundant genus and Rhodococcus sp.(29.32%)being the most abundant *** analysis and correlation analysis suggested that in autumn the dynamics of actinobacterial community were infuenced by more factors and Nocardioides ***2R5S2 was the potential keystone species which was negatively correlated with temperature(R=-0.72,P<0.05).Changes in environmental factors could significantly affect the changes in actinobacterial community,and the dynamics of temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO),and turbidity are potential conspicuous factors infuencing seasonal actinobacterial community *** partial least squares path modeling further elucidated that the combined effects of DO and temperature not only in the diversity of actinobacterial community but also in other water qualities,while the physiochemical parameters(path coefficient=1.571,P<0.05)was strong environmental factors in natural mixture *** results strengthen our understanding of the dynamics and structures of actinobacterial community in the drinking water reservoirs and provide scientific guidance for further water quality management and protection in water sources.

Two stages of subsidence and its formation mechanisms in Mid-Late Triassic Ordos Basin,NW China

Based on a large number of newly added deep well data in recent years,the subsidence of the Ordos Basin in the Mid-Late Triassic is systematically studied,and it is proposed that the Ordos Basin experienced two important subsidence events during this depositional *** contrastive analysis of the two stages of tectonic subsidence,including stratigraphic characteristics,lithology combination,location of catchment area and sedimentary evolution,it is proposed that both of them are responses to the Indosinian Qinling tectonic activity on the edge of the craton *** early subsidence occurred in the Chang 10 Member was featured by high amplitude,large debris supply and fast deposition rate,with coarse debris filling and rapid subsidence accompanied by rapid accumulation,resulting in strata thickness increasing from northeast to southwest in *** subsidence center was located in Huanxian–Zhenyuan–Qingyang–Zhengning areas of southwestern basin with the strata thickness of 800–1300 *** subsidence center deviating from the depocenter developed multiple catchment areas,until then,unified lake basin has not been formed *** the combined action of subsidence and Carnian heavy rainfall event during the deposition period of Chang 7 Member,a large deep-water depression was formed with slow deposition rate,and the subsidence center coincided with the depocenter basically in the Mahuangshan–Huachi–Huangling *** deep-water sediments were 120–320 m thick in the subsidence center,characterized by fine *** are differences in the mechanism between the two stages of *** early one was the response to the northward subduction of the MianLüe Ocean and intense depression under compression in Qinling during *** later subsidence is controlled by the weak extensional tectonic environment of the post-collision stage during Late Triassic.
