Multi-model ensemble learning for battery state-of-health estimation:Recent advances and perspectives

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. Lithium-rich layered oxides （LLOs） are increasingly recognized as promising cathode materials for nextgeneration high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries （LIBs）.However,they suffer from voltage decay and low initial Coulombic efficiency （ICE） due to severe structural degradation caused by irreversible O ***,we introduce a three-in-one strategy of increasing Ni and Mn content,along with Li/Ni disordering and TM–O covalency regulation to boost cationic and anionic redox activity simultaneously and thus enhance the electrochemical activity of *** target material,Li1.2Ni0.168Mn0.558Co0.074O2（L1）,exhibits an improved ICE of 87.2%and specific capacity of 293.2 mA h g-1and minimal voltage decay of less than 0.53 m V cycle-1over 300 cycles at 1C,compared to Li1.2Ni0.13Mn0.54Co0.13O2（Ls）(274.4 mA h g-1for initial capacity,73.8%for ICE and voltage decay of 0.84 mV/cycle over 300 cycles at 1C).Theoretical calculations reveal that the density of states （DOS） area near the Fermi energy level for L1 is larger than that of Ls,indicating higher anionic and cationic redox reactivity than ***,L1 exhibits increased O-vacancy formation energy due to higher Li/Ni disordering of 4.76%（quantified by X-ray diffraction Rietveld refinement） and enhanced TM–O covalency,making lattice O release more difficult and thus improving electrochemical *** increased Li/Ni disordering also leads to more Ni2+presence in the Li layer,which acts as a pillar during Li+de-embedding,improving structural *** research not only presents a viable approach to designing low-Co LLOs with enhanced capacity and ICE but also contributes significantly to the fundamental understanding of structural regulation in high-performance LIB cathodes.

Proximal gradient algorithms are popularly implemented to achieve convex optimization with nonsmooth regularization. Obtaining the exact solution of the proximal operator for nonsmooth regularization is challenging because errors exist in the computation of the gradient; consequently, the design and application of inexact proximal gradient algorithms have attracted considerable attention from researchers. This paper proposes computationally efficient basic and inexact proximal gradient descent algorithms with random reshuffling. The proposed stochastic algorithms take randomly reshuffled data to perform successive gradient descents and implement only one proximal operator after all data pass through. We prove the convergence results of the proposed proximal gradient algorithms under the sampling-without-replacement reshuffling *** computational errors exist in gradients and proximal operations, the proposed inexact proximal gradient algorithms can converge to an optimal solution neighborhood. Finally, we apply the proposed algorithms to compressed sensing and compare their efficiency with some popular algorithms.

As a laser passes through a scattering medium,the light interacts with the irregular reflections within the medium,resulting in light scattering and the formation of *** this paper,an image sensor based on the combination of a coreless optical fiber and a digital camera is proposed for liquid refractive index sensing *** coreless fiber is used as a sensing unit,and the change in the speckle pattern is measured using the digital correlation method to detect the magnitude of the liquid's refractive *** experimental results indicate that the laser image sensing technique is capable of effectively distinguishing liquid samples with refractive indices ranging from 1.332 8 to1.390 8,with a sensing sensitivity of-1.306 ***,the laser image sensing technique,with its advantages of high experimental reproducibility,simple system design,remote over-control,holds great research significance and potential application in laser communication and sensor integration.

In this paper,a bilevel optimization model of an integrated energy operator(IEO)–load aggregator(LA)is constructed to address the coordinate optimization challenge of multiple stakeholder island integrated energy system(IIES).The upper level represents the integrated energy operator,and the lower level is the electricity-heatgas load *** to the benefit conflict between the upper and lower levels of the IIES,a dynamic pricing mechanism for coordinating the interests of the upper and lower levels is proposed,combined with factors such as the carbon emissions of the IIES,as well as the lower load interruption *** price of selling energy can be dynamically adjusted to the lower LA in the mechanism,according to the information on carbon emissions and load interruption *** benefits and win-win situations are achieved between the upper and lower ***,CPLEX is used to iteratively solve the bilevel optimization *** optimal solution is selected according to the joint optimal discrimination *** results indicate that the sourceload coordinate operation can reduce the upper and lower operation *** the proposed pricingmechanism,the carbon emissions and load interruption power of IEO-LA are reduced by 9.78%and 70.19%,respectively,and the capture power of the carbon capture equipment is improved by 36.24%.The validity of the proposed model and method is verified.

Z-curve’s encoding and decoding algorithms are primely important in many Z-curve-based *** bit interleaving algorithm is the current state-of-the-art algorithm for encoding and decoding *** simple,its efficiency is hindered by the step-by-step coordinate shifting and bitwise *** tackle this problem,we first propose the efficient encoding algorithm LTFe and the corresponding decoding algorithm LTFd,which adopt two optimization methods to boost the algorithm’s efficiency:1)we design efficient lookup tables(LT)that convert encoding and decoding operations into table-lookup operations;2)we design a bit detection mechanism that skips partial order of a coordinate or a Z-value with consecutive 0s in the front,avoiding unnecessary iterative *** propose order-parallel and point-parallel OpenMP-based algorithms to exploit the modern multi-core *** results on discrete,skewed,and real datasets indicate that our point-parallel algorithms can be up to 12.6×faster than the existing algorithms.
