A periodic triangular-shaped Au nanoparticle array is fabricated on a quartz substrate using nanosphere lithography and pulsed laser deposition, and the linear and nonlinear optical properties of metal particles are studied. The morphology of the polystyrene nanosphere mask （D = 820 nm） and the Au nanoparticle array are investigated by scanning electron microscopy. The surface plasmon resonance absorption peak is observed at 606 nm, which is in good agreement with the calculated result using the discrete dipole approximation method. By performing the Z-scan method with femtosecond laser （800 nm, 50 fs）, the optical nonlinearities of A u nanoparticle array are determined. The results show that the Au particles exhibit negative nonlinear absorption and positive nonlinear refractive index with the effective third-order optical nonlinear susceptibility Xeff^（3） can be up to （8.8 ± 1.0）× 10^-10 esu under non-resonant femtosecond laser excitation.

The spatial characteristics of Thomson scattering in a linearly polarized laser field are investigated. The results show that the electron＇s motion and spatial distributions of Thomson scattering depend sensitively on the phase η0 at which the electron is injected to the laser field. When η0 equals to 0 or π, the electron motion is a zigzag motion and the spatial distributions of the emission show fourfold or twofold symmetry. In other cases of phases, there is a steady drift motion of electron in the transverse direction, which results in the absence of the zigzag motion and a breakdown of the symmetry of the spatial distributions as well.

Diluted magnetic characteristics of Ni-doped AIN films via ion implantation

The structural and magnetic properties, as well as the mechanism of magnetization, of Ni-implanted A1N films were studied. A1N was deposited on A1203 substrates by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition （MOCVD）, and subsequently Ni ions were implanted into the A1N films by Metal Vapor Arc （MEVVA） sources at an energy of 100 keV for 3 h. The films were annealed at 900~C for 1 h in the furnace in order to transfer the Ni ions from interstitial sites to substitutional sites in A1N, thus activating the Ni3＋ ions. Characterizations were performed in situ using X-ray diffraction （XRD）, X-ray photoemis- sion spectroscopy （XPS）, and vibrating sample magneto- metry （VSM）, which showed that the films have a wurtzite structure without the formation of a secondary phase after implanting and annealing. Ni ions were successfully implanted into substitutional sites of AlN films, and the chemical bonding states are Ni-N. The apparent hysteresis loops prove that the films exhibited magnetism at 300 K. The room temperature （RT） saturation magnetization moment （Ms） and eoercivity （He） values were about 0.36 emu/g and 35.29 Oe, respectively. From the first-principles calculation, a total magnetic moment of 2.99 ~tB per supercell is expected, and the local magnetic moment of a NiN4 tetrahedron, 2.45 gB, makes the primary contribu- tion. The doped Ni atom hybridizes with four nearby N atoms in a NiN4 tetrahedron; then the electrons of the N atoms are spin-polarized and couple with the electrons of the Ni atom with strong magnetization, which results in magnetism. Therefore, the p-d exchange mechanism between Ni-3d and N-2p can be the origin of the magnetism. It is expected that these room temperature, ferromagnetic, Ni-doped A1N films will have many potential applications as diluted magnetic semiconductors.

Efficient indium tin oxide （ITO）-free inverted polymer solar cells （PSCs） were fabricated by applying ultrathin metal transparent electrodes as sunlight incident electrodes. Smooth and continuous Ag film of 4 nm thickness was developed through the introduction of a 2 nm Au seed layer. Ultrathin Ag transparent electrode with an average transmittance of up to 80% from 480 to 680 nm and a sheet resistance of 35.4Ω/sq was obtained through the introduction of a ZnO anti-reflective layer. The ultrathin metal electrode could be directly used as cathode in polymer solar cells without oxygen plasma treatment. ITO-free inverted PSCs obtained a power conversion efficiency （PCE） of 5.2% by utilizing the ultrathin metal transparent electrodes. These results demonstrated a simple method of fabricating ITO-free inverted PSCs.

Multistage heat treatment involving quenching(Q),lamellarizing(L),and tempering(T)is applied to marine 10Ni5CrMoV *** microstructure and mechanical properties were studied by multiscale characterizations,and the kinetics of reverse austenite transformation,strain hardening behavior,and toughening mechanism were further *** lamellarized specimens possess low yield strength but high toughness,especially cryogenic *** leads to the development of film-like reversed austenite at the martensite block and lath boundaries,refining the martensite structure and lowering the equivalent grain *** analysis of austenite reversion based on the JMAK model shows that the isothermal transformation is dominated by the growth of reversed austenite,and the maximum transformation of reversed austenite is reached at the peak temperature(750℃).The strain hardening behavior based on the modified Crussard-Jaoul analysis indicates that the reversed austenite obtained from lamellarization reduces the proportion of martensite,significantly hindering crack propagation via martensitic transformation during the *** a consequence,the QLT specimens exhibit high machinability and low yield *** with the QT specimen,the ductile-brittle transition temperature of the QLT specimens decreases from-116 to-130℃due to the low equivalent grain size and reversed austenite,which increases the cleavage force required for crack propagation and absorbs the energy of external load,*** work provides an idea to improve the cryogenic toughness of marine 10Ni5CrMoV steel and lays a theoretical foundation for its industrial application and comprehensive performance improvement.
