Background:Though many countries,including China,are moving towards malaria elimination,malaria remains a major global health *** to the spread of antimalarial drug resistance and the need for innovative medical products during the elimination phase,further research and development(R&D)of innovative tools in both epidemic and elimination areas is *** study aims to identify the trends and gaps in malaria R&D in China,and aims to offer suggestions on how China can be more effectively involved in global malaria R&***:Quantitative analysis was carried out by collecting data on Chinese malaria-related research programmes between 1985 and 2014,invention patents in China from 1985 to 2014,and articles published by Chinese researchers in PubMed and Chinese databases from 2005 to *** data were screened and extracted for numerical analysis and were categorized into basic sciences,drug/drug resistance,immunology/vaccines,or diagnostics/detection for chronological and subgroup ***:The number of malaria R&D activities have shown a trend of increase during the past 30 years,however these activities have fluctuated within the past few *** the past 10 years,R&D on drug/drug resistance accounted for the highest percentages of research programmes(32.4%),articles(55.0%in PubMed and 50.6%in Chinese databases)and patents(45.5%).However,these R&D activities were mainly related to artemisinin.R&D on immunology/vaccines has been a continuous interest for China’s public entities,but the focus remains on basic science.R&D in the area of high-efficiency diagnostics has been rarely seen or reported in ***:China has long been devoted to malaria R&D in multiple areas,including drugs,drug resistance,immunology and vaccines.R&D on diagnostics has received significantly less attention,however,it should also be an area where China can make a *** focus on malaria R&D is needed,especially in the area of diagnostics,if China

In 2012, the National Central Cancer Registry (NCCR) of China collected cancer registration information for the year 2009 from local cancer registries and analyzed it to describe the incidences and mortalities of cancers in China. Based on the data quality criteria from NCCR, data from 104 registries covering 85,470,522 people (57,489,009 in urban areas and 27,981,513 in rural areas) were checked and evaluated. The data from 72 registries were qualified and accepted for the cancer registry annual report in 2012. The total cancer incident cases and cancer deaths were 244,366 and 154,310, respectively. The morphologically verified cases accounted for 67.23%, and 3.14% of the incident cases only had information from death certifications. The crude incidence in the Chinese cancer registration areas was 285.91/ 100,000 (317.97/100,000 in males and 253.09/100,000 in females). The age-standardized rates for incidences based on the Chinese standard population (ASRIC) and the world standard population (ASRIW) were 146.87/100,000 and 191.72/100,000, respectively, with a cumulative incidence of 22.08%. The cancer mortality in the Chinese cancer registration areas was 180.54/100,000 (224.20/100,000 in males and 135.85/100,000 in females). The age-standardized rates for mortalities based on the Chinese standard population (ASRMC) and the world standard population (ASRMW) were 85.06/100,000 and 115.65/100,000, respectively, and the cumulative mortality was 12.94% . Lung cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, encephaloma, lymphoma, female breast cancer, and cervical cancer were the most common cancers, accounting for 75% of all cancer cases. Lung cancer, gastric cancer, liver cancer, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, encephaloma, leukemia, and lymphoma accounted for 80% of all cancer deaths. Real-time seam tracking can improve welding quality and enhance welding efficiency during the welding process in automobile ***,the teaching-playing welding process,an off-line seam tracking method,is still dominant in automobile industry,which is less flexible when welding objects or situation change.A novel real-time algorithm consisting of seam detection and generation is proposed to track *** captured 3D points,space vectors were created between two adjacent points along each laser line and then a vector angle based algorithm was developed to detect target points on the *** square method was used to fit target points to a welding trajectory for seam ***,the real-time seam tracking process was simulated in MATLAB/*** trend of joint angles *** was logged and a comparison between the off-line and the proposed seam tracking algorithm was *** show that the proposed real-time seam tracking algorithm can work in a real-time scenario and have high accuracy in welding point positioning.

Nutrition and dietary survey data has been useful in defining the magnitude of malnutrition and dietary deficit. Such information has been helpful in gaining attention to support or to do more to improve nutrition advocacy. However, there are also greater opportunities to use the common data to guide the program action. In summary, we have plenty of good nutrition and dietary information available to us in the planning and operation of nutrition intervention program. If we go beyond the use of data to justify area or subject of engagement, we can also use the same data for more efficient and more effective program without additional cost to us.

Summary What is already known about this topic?In 2018,unassisted smoking cessation(USC)was the predominant method for quitting smoking among Chinese adult smokers,accounting for 90.1%of *** utilization of professional smoking cessation support was comparatively low in this *** was added by this report?In 2020,the prevalence of USC methods increased to 93.1%.Concurrently,there was a slight increase in the utilization of pharmaceuticals(from 4.6%in 2018 to 5.5%in 2020)and counseling and quit line services(from 3.2%in 2018 to 7.5%in 2020).On the other hand,the use of e-cigarettes as a cessation aid decreased from 14.9%in 2018 to 9.8%in *** aged 15–24 years old were more likely to rely on pharmaceutical interventions(7.9%),and less likely to choose USC methods(79.0%).What are the implications for public health practice?The promotion of professional cessation support is essential for enhancing smoking cessation rates.

Communication with Parents and Peers on Sexual Matters:the Experience of Adolescents in the Northeastern of China

Objective To analyze the status of parent-child communication on sexual matters and its relationship to the sexual behaviors of adolescents. Methods The data were obtained from a study which was conducted in Changchun city of China in 2001, Unmarried adolescents aged 15-19 years old（322 males and 360females） were selected for this analysis. Results Ten percent of adolescents reported having experience of sexual intercourse （16% of male and 5% of female）. The percentages of adolescents communicating with peers, mothers and fathers were 35%, 30% and 17%, respectively, Males were more likely to talk about sexual issues with peer, while females were more likely to talk with mothers. Significant difference was also noted between the ratio of communication on sexual matters and having a girl/boyfriend with peers and with parents, There was a statistically significant relationship between sexual experience and communication with fathers among male adolescents＇, Despite the fact that parents are the most closest care providers, adolescents obtained most of the sex information from ＂reading materials＂ and from ＂teachers＂, but not from their parents. There was an age difference in the main source of obtaining sexual information. Younger adolescents obtained sexual information mainly from teachers while older adolescents mainly from reading materials. Conclusion In addition to schools and reading materials, parents should serve as an important source of information on sexual education as well.

A Remote Sensing-based Analysis on the Impact of Wenchuan Earthquake on the Core Value of world Nature Heritage Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuary

In this study,we used remotely sensed data,GIS modeling,and statistical methods to evaluate the damage caused by the Wenchuan Earthquake (May 12,2008) to the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) habitat in the world Nature Heritage Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuary (WHSGPS) in China.A landscape ecological analysis found increases of landscape heterogeneity,complexity,and fragmentation in the giant panda habitat after the earthquake.A terrain analysis found that slope and elevation are directly associated with the distribution of the damaged *** slope and elevation increase,the size of the damaged area keeps increase until to a peak,and then starts to *** total area of the damaged vegetation in our study area is 114.26 km 2,accounting for 3.78% of the study area;30.46% of that 114.26 km 2 is located in the Core Zone of *** are 18.57km 2 of the damaged vegetation located in the identified suitable giant panda habitat,accounting for 1.75% of the total area of suitable giant panda habitats in the study *** on these findings,we conclude that the Wenchuan Earthquake does not have significant impact on the WHSGPS as a whole.
