An Efficient Clustering Algorithm for k-Anonymisation

k-anonymisation is an approach to protecting individuals from being identified from data. Good k-anonymisations should retain data utility and preserve privacy, but few methods have considered these two conflicting requirements together. In this paper, we extend our previous work on a clustering-based method for balancing data utility and privacy protection, and propose a set of heuristics to improve its effectiveness. We introduce new clustering criteria that treat utility and privacy on equal terms and propose sampling-based techniques to optimally set up its parameters. Extensive experiments show that the extended method achieves good accuracy in query answering and is able to prevent linking attacks effectively.

Titanium alloy （Ti6Al4V） and low carbon steel （LCS） were joined by explosive welding method using different ratios of explosive. Some metallurgical properties of joined samples were investigated. Joined samples were examined by means of optical microscope, scanning electron microscope （SEM） and tensile-shearing tests. Bending, tensile, hardness and corrosion behaviour of the samples were investigated. Separation was not occurred on the joining interface after tensile-shearing and bending tests. It is seen that hardness of both plates were increased with increasing explosive. It is found that increasing explosive ratio leads to an increase in corrosion. It is also found that corrosion rate was high at the beginning of the experiment but the rate of the corrosion decreased subsequently during the experiment.

Due to the differences in physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the base metals, the resistance spot welding of dissimilar materials is generally more challenging than that of similar materials. The influence of the primary welding parameters affecting the heat input such as peak current on the morphology, microhardness, and tensile shear load bearing capacity of dissimilar welds between 304 grades austenitic and 7114 grade interstitial free steel has been investigated in this study. The optimum welding parameters producing maximum joint strength were established at a peak current of 9 kA, where the electrode force is kept 6×10^-5 Pa and weld time is kept constant 17 cycles, respectively. The primary cause of weakening the weldment is identified as the excessive grain growing region of heat affected zone （HAZ） in case of 7114 grade interstitial free steel.

An ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid （EDTA） precursor-based chemical method is reported for prepar- ing single-phase nickel ferrite （NiFe204） nanopowder. The synthesized powder was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction, particle size analysis and scanning electron microscopy. DC electrical resistivity and magnetic property of the synthesized NiFe204 were measured by using a two-probe method and a vibrating sample magnetometer respectively. The DC resistivity behaviour of the NiFe204 nanopowder was correlated with the change of microstructure, during sintering. This EDTA precursor-based method is capable of producing nanos- tructured single-phase NiFe204 powder at a comparatively low calcination temperature and offers the potential of a simple and cost-effective route, including the preparation of other ferrite nanoparticles.

A lensless Vanderlugt optical correlator using two phase-only spatial light modulators （SLMs） is proposed. The SLMs are used for displaying input and filter patterns respectively. The SLMs are also used as programmable lenses in order to realize the lensless construction. This lensless system is simple and its alignment adjustment is easy. The performance of the SLMs as programmable lenses is also described.

The benefits of regular physical activity are well ***,few studies have examined the effectiveness of integrating physical activity(PA)into curricula within a post-secondary *** investigate the incorporation of PA into medical curriculum,we developed a series of optional exercise-based review sessions designed to reinforce musculoskeletal(MSk)anatomy course *** synchronous sessions were co-taught by a group fitness instructor and an anatomy *** fitness instructor would lead students through both strength and yoga style exercises,while the anatomy instructor asked questions about relevant anatomical structures related to course material previously *** the sessions,participants were asked to evaluate the classes on their self-reported exam preparedness in improving MSk anatomy knowledge,PA levels,and mental *** participants completed surveys;a majority agreed that the classes increased understanding of MSk concepts(90.0%)and activity levels(97.7%).Many(70.0%)felt that the classes helped reduce *** majority of respondents(90.0%)agreed that the classes contributed to increased feelings of social ***,medical students saw benefit in PA based interventions to supplement MSk course *** with increasing activity levels and promoting health behaviours,integrating PA into medical curriculum may improve comprehension of learning material,alleviate stress and foster social connectivity among medical students.

Partial differential equations (PDEs) combined with suitably chosen boundaryconditions are effective in creating free form surfaces. In this paper, a fourth order partialdifferential equation and boundary conditions up to tangential continuity are introduced. Thegeneral solution is divided into a closed form solution and a non-closed form one leading to a mixedsolution to the PDE. The obtained solution is applied to a number of surface modelling examplesincluding glass shape design, vase surface creation and arbitrary surface representation.
