The sluggish kinetics in multistep sulfur redox reaction with different energy requirements for each step,is considered as the crucial handicap of lithium–sulfur(Li–S)*** an electron reservoir,which can dynamically release electron to/accept electron from sulfur species during dis-charge/charge,is the ideal strategy for realizing stepwise and dual-directional polysulfide ***,a single Tb^(3+/4+)oxide with moderate unfilled f orbital is synthetized as an electron reservoir to optimize polysulfide adsorption via Tb–S and N…Li bonds,reduce activation energy barrier,expe-dite electron/Li+transport,and selectively catalyze both long-chain and short-chain polysulfide conversions during charge and *** a result,Tb electron reservoir enables stable operation of low-capacity decay(0.087%over 500 cycles at 1 C),high sulfur loading(5.2 mg cm^(2))and electrolyte-starved(7.5μL mg^(-1))Li–S *** work could unlock the potential of f orbital engineering for high-energy battery systems.

Hierarchical porous metal oxides arrays is critical for development of advanced energy storage ***, we report a facile template-assisted electro-deposition plus glucose decomposition method for synthesis of multilayer CoO/C hollow spheres arrays. The CoO/C arrays consist of multilayer interconnected hollow composite spheres with diameters of350 nm as well as thin walls of20 *** hollow spheres architecture with 3D porous networks are achieved. As cathode of high-rate hybrid batteries, the multilayer CoO/C hollow sphere arrays exhibit impressive enhanced performances with a high capacity(73.5 m Ahg-1at 2 Ag-1), and stable high-rate cycling life(70 m Ahg-1after12,500 cycles at 2 Ag-1). The improved electrochemical performance is owing to the composite hollowsphere architecture with high contact area between the active materials and electrolyte as well as fast ion/electron transportation path.

Zinc-based flow battery is an energy storage technology with good application prospects because of its advantages of abundant raw materials,low cost,and environmental *** chemical stability of zinc electrodes exposed to electrolyte is a very important issue for zinc-based *** paper reports on details of chemical stability of the zinc metal exposed to a series of solutions,as well as the relationship between the morphological evolution of zinc electrodes and their properties in an alkaline *** corrosion of zinc electrodes by the electrolyte will change their surface ***,we observed that chemical corrosion is not the main contributor to the evolution of zinc electrode surface morphology,but the main contributor is the Zn/Zn^(2+)electrode *** morphological evolution of zinc electrodes was controlled by using ionic liquids,1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate(EMIA),and 1-propylsulfonic-3-methylimidazolium tosylate(PSMIT),and the electrode performance was recorded during the morphological evolution *** was observed that the reversible change of zinc electrode morphology was accompanied by better electrode performance.

In this work,the nanostructures and phase diagrams of lamella-forming and cylinder-forming ABC linear triblock copolymers confined in spherical cavities are investigated on the basis of real-space self-consistent field *** designate specific monomer-monomer interactions and block composition and study morphology transformation under spherical confinement with a neutral *** potentially valuable morphological structures,such as two-or three-colored spheres,rotational structures,and biconcave disklike structures,are identified in the phase diagrams constructed on confining *** confinement induces an obvious transformation of self-assembled structures,which still retain some of the conformational properties of bulk *** then focus on phase morphology under preferential *** can smooth out differences in block ratios,and similar structures can be assembled from block copolymers with different *** incorporate a non-centrosymmetric feature into our spherical confinement model and design a Janus adsorption field to explore unpredictable microphase *** show that the unbalance of the block ratio causes adsorption to exert a stable shaping effect on *** influence of confinement on the degree of freedom of polymer chains disrupts the influence of adsorption on the complexity and transformation activity of self-assembled *** theoretical results correspond to recent experimental observations and contribute to the field functional material synthesis.

We propose a catalytically activated aggregation-fragmentation model of three species, in which two clusters of species A can coagulate into a larger one under the catalysis of B clusters; otherwise, one cluster of species A will fragment into two smaller clusters under the catalysis of C clusters. By means of mean-field rate equations, we derive the asymptotic solutions of the cluster-mass distributions ak（t） of species A, which is found to depend strongly on the competition between the catalyzed aggregation process and the catalyzed fragmentation process. When the catalyzed aggregation process dominates the system, the cluster-mass distribution ak（t） satisfies the conventional scaling form. When the catalyzed fragmentation process dominates the system, the scaling description of ak （t） breaks down completely and the monodisperse initial condition of species A would not be changed in the long-time limit. In the marginal case when the effects of catalyzed aggregation and catalyzed fragmentation counteract each other, ak（t） takes the modified scaling form and the system can eventually evolve to a steady state.

An aggregation growth model of three species A, B and C with the competition between catalyzed birth and catalyzed death is proposed. Irreversible aggregation occurs between any two aggregates of the like species with theconstant rate kernels In（n = 1,2, 3）. Meanwhile, a monomer birth of an A species aggregate of size k occurs under the catalysis of a B species aggregate of size j with the catalyzed birth rate kernel K（k, j） = Kkj^v, and a monomer death of an A species aggregate of size k occurs under the catalysis of a C species aggregate of size j with the catalyzed death rate kernel L（k, j） = Lkj^v, whcre v is a parameter reflecting the dependence of the catalysis reaction rates of birth and death on the size of catalyst aggregate. The kinetic evolution behaviours of the three species are investigated by the rate equation approach based on the mean-field theory. The form of the aggregate size distribution of A species ak （t） is found to be dependent crucially on the competition between the catalyzed birth and death of A species, as well as the irreversible aggregation processes of the three species：（i） In the v 〈 0 case, the irreversible aggregation dominates the process, and ak（t） satisfies the conventional scaling form; （2） In the v ≥ 0 casc, the competition between the catalyzed birth and death dominates the process. When the catalyzed birth controls the process, ak（t） takes the conventional or generalized scaling form. While the catalyzed death controls the process, the scaling description of the aggregate size distribution breaks down completely.

Extracting photovoltaic(PV)model parameters based on the measured voltage and current information is crucial in the simulation and management of PV *** accurately and reliably extract the unknown parameters of different PV models,this paper proposes an improved multi-verse optimizer that integrates an iterative chaos map and the Nelder–Mead simplex method,*** experiments verified that the proposed INMVO fueled by both mechanisms has more affluent populations and a more reasonable balance between exploration and ***,to verify the feasibility and competitiveness of the proposal,this paper employed INMVO to extract the unknown parameters on single-diode,double-diode,three-diode,and PV module four well-known PV models,and the high-performance techniques are selected for *** addition,the Wilcoxon signed-rank and Friedman tests were employed to test the experimental results *** evaluation metrics,such as root means square error,relative error,absolute error,and statistical test,demonstrate that the proposed INMVO works effectively and accurately to extract the unknown parameters on different PV models compared to other *** addition,the capability of INMVO to stably and accurately extract unknown parameters was also verified on three commercial PV modules under different irradiance and *** conclusion,the proposal in this paper can be implemented as an advanced and reliable tool for extracting the unknown parameters of different PV *** that the source code of INMVO is available at https://***/woniuzuioupao/INMVO.

The thermoneutral zone(TNZ)reﬂects the adaptation of mammals to their natural ***,it remains unclear how TNZ shifts in response to variations in ambient *** test the hypothesis that ambient temperature plays a key role in determining TNZ variations between seasons,we measured metabolic rate,body temperature,and cytochrome c oxidase(COX)activity of several visceral organs in striped hamsters(Cricetulus barabensis)either acclimated to semi-natural conditions over a year,or subjected to a gradual decrease in mean temperature from 30±1°C to-15±1°*** TNZ range in striped hamsters differed seasonally,with a wider TNZ and a lower lower-critical temperature in winter compared to *** hamsters showed a consider-able leftward shift of lower-critical temperature from 30°C to 20°C after the ambient temperature of acclimation from 30°C down to-15°C,whereas the upper-critical temperature of TNZ remainedﬁxed at 32.5°*** rest-ing metabolic rate in thermoneutral zone(RMRt),nonshivering thermogenesis(NST),and COX activity of brown adipose tissue,liver,skeletal muscle,brain,and kidneys,increased signiﬁcantly in hamsters acclimated at lower ambient *** acute exposure to 5°C and-15°C,hamsters acclimated to 32.5°C had signiﬁ-cantly lower maximal NST and lower serum thyroid tri-iodothyronine(T3)levels compared to those kept at 23°***ﬁndings suggest that acclimation to the upper-critical temperature of TNZ impairs the hamsters’thermo-genic capacity to cope with extreme cold *** ambient temperature was mainly responsible for the leftward shift of TNZ in striped hamsters,which reﬂects the adaptation to cold environments.

We propose a catalytically activated replication-decline model of three species, in which two aggregates of the same species can coagulate themselves, an A aggregate of any size can replicate itself with the help of B aggregates, and the decline of A aggregate occurs under the catalysis of C aggregates. By means of mean-field rate equations, we derive the asymptotic solutions of the aggregate size distribution ak（t） of species A, which is found to depend strongly on the competition among three mechanisms： the self-coagulation of species A, the replication of species A catalyzed by species B, and the decline of species A catalyzed by species C. When the self-coagulation of species A dominates the system, the aggregate size distribution a^（t） satisfies the conventional scaling form. When the catalyzed replication process dominates the system, ak（t） takes the generalized scaling form. When the catalyzed decline process dominates the system, ak（t） approaches the modified scaling form.

AIM:To investigate the relationship between polymorphisms present in the vitamin D receptor(VDR) gene and colorectal cancer risk,a systematic meta-analysis of population-based studies was ***:A total of 38 relevant reports published between January 1990 and August 2010 were identified,of which only 23 qualified for this meta-analysis based on our selection *** polymorphic variants of the VDR gene,including Cdx-2(intron 1e) and FokI(exon 2) present in the 5' region of the gene,and BsmI(intron 8),ApaI(intron 8),and TaqI(exon 9) sites present in the 3' untranslated region(UTR),were evaluated for possible associations with colorectalcancer *** manager 4.2 was used to perform statistical ***:In the meta-analysis performed,only the BsmI polymorphism was found to be associated with colorectal cancer *** particular,the BsmI B genotype was found to be related to an overall decrease in the risk for colorectal cancer [BB vs bb:odds ratio(OR) = 0.87,95% CI:0.80-0.94,P = 3 × 10-4;BB vs Bb + bb:OR = 0.90,95% CI:0.84-0.97,P = 5 × 10-4].Moreover,in subgroup analyses,the BsmI B genotype was significantly associated with colon cancer,and not rectal *** absence of between-study heterogeneity was also ***:A meta-analysis of 23 published studies identified the BsmI polymorphism of the VDR gene to be associated with an increased risk of colon cancer.
