Ulcerative co.itis(UC)is a recurrent inflammatory bowel disease that imposes a severe burden on families and *** recent years,exploiting the potential of marine bioactive peptides for the treatment of diseases has beco.e a topic of intense research *** study revealed the mechanism underlying the protective effect of the dominant polypeptide PKKVV(Pro-Lys-Lys-Val-Val)of Rhopilema esculentum cnidoblasts against DSS-induced UC through a co.bined analysis of the metagenome and serum ***,the polypeptide co.position of *** cnidoblasts was determined by matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS).Molecular docking showed that the dominant peptide PKKVV co.ld bind better with tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)than the original *** animal experiments suggested that PKKVV co.ld modulate disorganized gut microorganisms in mice with UC;affect serum metabolites through the arachidonic acid,glycerophospholipid and linoleic acid metabolism pathways;and further alleviate UC *** study provides a reference for the co.prehensive development of marine bioactive substances and nonpharmaceutical treatments for UC.

Some veterinary drug residues in food products and environment have been widely regarded as severe threats to human *** and simultaneous detection methods are crucial to monitor and co.trol veterinary drug ***,we propose a fluorescence biosensor utilizing immunomagnetic beads(IMBs)and quantum dots(QDs)for the rapid and simultaneous detection of 1-adamantylamine(ADA),enrofloxacin(ENR)and tilmico.in(TIL)in raw chicken meat.A pretreatment method using sodium phosphotungstate–magnesium as extraction reagent was developed to simultaneously extract ADA,ENR and TIL from chicken meat with minor interference in background or *** adding the IMBs modified with three types of antibodies and the QD-antigens modified with three types of BSA-antigens to sample,IMBs co.petitively co.jugated to target antigens in a sample or *** magnetic separation,the residual QD-antigens were adopted to co.lect signals using fluorescence *** QDs with well separated emission peaks,the detection of one type of targets was minorly interfered by the *** the optimum co.ditions,the biosensor exhibited the limit of detection of 0.96,3.32,and 3.17 ng/mL for ADA,ENR and TIL in chicken samples,respectively,as well as good *** to the way of direct co.lection of signals in extracts,the tedious and co.plicated multiple magnetic separation and signal amplification procedures in co.ventional methods were avoided,thus the procedures were significantly simplified,and the reduction of the operation time of 30 min for sample pretreatment and 40 min for detection part was *** biosensor might be promising in the rapid,in-field and sensitive screening of multiple veterinary drugs to ensure agriculture and food safety.

The phylogenetic origin of Beckmannia remains *** genus has been placed within the Chlorideae,Aveneae(Agrostideae),Poeae,or treated as an isolate lineage,*** the present study, we used nuclear internal transcribed spacer(ITS)and chloroplast trnL-F sequences to examine the phylogenetic relationship between Beckmannia and those genera that have assumed to be *** the basis of the results of our studies,the following co.clusions co.ld be drawn:(i)Beckmannia and Alopecurus are sister groups with high support;and(ii)Beckmannia and Alopecurus are nested in the Poeae clade with high *** results of our analysis suggest that Beckmannia should be placed in Poeae.

The first paradigm of plant breeding involves direct selection-based phenotypic observation,followed by predictive breeding using statistical models for quantitative traits co.structed based on genetic experimental design and,more recently,by inco.poration of molecular marker ***,plant performance or phenotype(P)is determined by the co.bined effects of genotype(G),envirotype(E),and genotype by environment interaction(GEI).Phenotypes can be predicted more precisely by training a model using data co.lected from multiple sources,including spatiotemporal omics(genomics,phenomics,and enviromics across time and space).Integration of 3D information profiles(G-P-E),each with multidimensionality,provides predictive breeding with both tremendous opportunities and great ***,we first review innovative technologies for predictive *** then evaluate multidimensional information profiles that can be integrated with a predictive breeding strategy,particularly envirotypic data,which have largely been neglected in data co.lection and are nearly untouched in model *** propose a smart breeding scheme,integrated genomic-enviromic prediction(iGEP),as an extension of genomic prediction,using integrated multiomics information,big data technology,and artificial intelligence(mainly focused on machine and deep learning).We discuss how to implement iGEP,including spatiotemporal models,environmental indices,factorial and spatiotemporal structure of plant breeding data,and cross-species prediction.A strategy is then proposed for prediction-based crop redesign at both the macro(individual,population,and species)and micro(gene,metabolism,and network)***,we provide perspectives on translating smart breeding into genetic gain through integrative breeding platforms and open-source breeding *** call for co.rdinated efforts in smart breeding through iGEP,institutional partnerships,and innovative technological support.

Estimation of heritabilities of disease resistance to Edwardsiella tarda and genetic co.relations between resistance and growth traits in Chinese tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis)

Chinese tongue sole(Cynoglossus semilaevis)is an important marine flatfish which is widely cultured in co.stal areas in *** bacterial diseases such as Edwardsiella tarda imposed serious threats to this species.A potential strategy to prevent this disease is to select resistance *** aim of the present work was to estimate the genetic variation of disease resistance to *** and to evaluate the genetic co.relations between resistance traits and growth *** types of models were fitted by using different trait definitions(binary,co.tinuous and categorical).After a 9-day challenge test,the overall survival was 75.4%(ranging from 6.4%to 100%in families),and at test day 6,the overall survival was 50.7%.We set test day 6 and 9 as cut-off point times *** heritabilities of survival traits were ranging from 0.10 to *** higher heritability values were obtained at day 6 than at day 9,regardless of which model or trait definition used(except Trait 2 in LIN).The genetic co.relations between disease resistance traits and growth traits(*** weight and total length)were low and not significant from zero(−0.12–0.24).There is a substantial re-ranking of families when defined resistance as categorical and co.tinuous traits co.pared to binary *** results co.firm the existence of genetic variation for resistance against *** and weak genetic co.relations indicate that joint genetic improvement of *** resistance and growth is scarcely available.

Effects of dietary supplementation of Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis on growth performance,survival,immune response,antioxidant capacity and digestive enzyme activity in olive flounder(Paralichthys olivaceus)

In present study,a 10-month feeding trial was carried out to investigate effects of dietary Lactobacillus plantarum and Bacillus subtilis supplementation singly on growth performance,innate immune response,antioxidant capacity and digestive enzyme activity of olive flounder under a co.mercial production *** experimental groups fed basal diet with supplementation of ***(5.0×107 CFU/g diet)and ***(1.0×108 CFU/g diet)respectively,and co.trol group fed with basal diet without probiotics *** harvest,serum immune parameters,liver antioxidant indices and digestive enzyme activities in liver,stomach and intestines were *** fed with *** supplemented diet showed the highest growth rate which was significantly higher than *** supplemented group(Pco.trol group(Pco.pared to co.trol *** the studied immune parameters in serum were substantially enhanced in both experimental *** results were observed for the antioxidant capacity in ***,the activities of digestive enzymes increased substantially in both experimental groups co.pared to co.trol group and the detected improvement in dietary *** supplemented group were all higher than in *** supplemented group,though not all the improvements were *** summary,the separate supplementation of *** and *** in diet is more beneficial for growth performance and healthy status ***,in olive flounder aquaculture,favorable effects of co.pounded supplementation of *** and *** are expected.
