Microcosmic mechanism and correction of moisture effect on furfural diffusion and equilibrium in oil‐paper insulation

Furfural content in oil is considered as an effective parameter to evaluate the ageing state of oil-immersed *** previous thermal ageing experiments at 130℃,we found that moisture increment in oil-paper system makes more furfural distribute in ***,the microcosmic mechanism of moisture effect on furfural diffusion from paper to oil is still unknown,and the furfural equilibrium law at transformers'typical operating temperatures is also unclear,resulting in the unreliability of the existed furfural evaluation *** elucidate the above problems,molecular dynamics simulation and furfural equilibrium experiments at 60℃ were carried out at different moisture *** results show that high moisture content makes part of furfural diffuse from paper to oil *** moisture content increases from 1% to 2%,mass fraction of furfural in oil may increase from 32.98% to 49.83%,leading to furfural content in oil increases from 0.76 mg/L to 1.06 mg/L when the degree of polymerisation of insulation paper is about 524,which increased by 39.5%.The increase in moisture content makes cellulose form hydrogen bonds with H_(2)O preferentially,decreasing the hydrogen bonds interaction between cellulose and ***,partial furfural falls off cellulose and diffuses into oil,leading to an increase in furfural content in *** eliminate the moisture interference,a corrected furfural assessment model based on the moisture equilibrium curve has been constructed,which can accurately evaluate the ageing state of insulation paper regardless of the moisture influence.

过去十年,非常规油气勘探开发在全球范围内大幅扩张。水平钻井和多级水力压裂技术也在不断地发展和创新,使得超长水平井成为可能。同时,因为压裂强度不断增加,作业者可以最大限度地提高储层接触面积和对储层的改造体积(SRV)。然而,完井优化方面的挑战仍然存在,作业者持续不断地尝试和试验各种完井与增产参数组合,以确保非常规油气藏开发的经济可行性。优选最佳的完井与增产参数组合是一项非常关键的任务,应结合油气田的具体储层特征进行优化。本文总结了2014—2020年间北美9个主要非常规油气藏的压裂增产趋势,包括Marcellus,Haynesville,Barnett,Utica,Bone Spring,Bakken,Wolfcamp Midland,Eagle Ford,Scoop/Stack。分析了各油气田几个关键的完井和增产参数的整体趋势,同时还评估了单个参数(如水平段压裂长度、支撑剂强度、段间距等)对井产能的影响。然后对比分析相应的初始井产量(90天平均初始产量),评估各个参数对产能的影响,从而确定每个完井参数的最佳范围,以实现产能最优化。

The influence of carbonate formation on Pulsed Neutron logging(such as Pulsed Neutron-Neutron logging)is quite different from that of sandstone due to the complexity of reservoir architecture and the development of fracture in carbonate *** study the factors affecting Pulsed Neutron-Neutron(PNN)logging in carbonate formation,the responses on fracture or cave are simulated by Monte Carlo method,getting the relationships among the macroscopic capture cross section(Σ),the count ratio of the thermal neutron at far spacing and near spacing detectors(RATIO),the fracture porosity,oil-bearing and shale content of *** results show that PNN logging can be used to detect caves,and there exist linear relationships among the macroscopic capture cross section(Σ),the count ratio(RATIO)and the above *** research findings in this paper provides theoretical basis for the interpretation and data correction of the PNN logging in carbonate reservoirs.

Application examples of 3D visual interpretation technology in Dagang oilfield

3D visualization technology is a new seismic interpretation technology that is completely different from traditional seismic data interpretation technologies. This method takes geologic bodies or any 3D region of interest as a unit and integrates the points, lines, and planes of the bodies to make a 3D visual interpretation. This technology can be integrated with the coherence technique to interpret complex faults. Spatial domain automatic horizon tracing can accurately determine structural features. Target sculpting can determine the spatial dimensions and depth extent of perspective 3D lithology bodies using inversion data. I applied this technology to the interpretation of the complex block structures in the Guanxi area of Dagang oilfield and the prediction of subtle reservoirs in the western slope of the Qinan sag with good results. This study indicated that the visual interpretation technology can be widely and effectively applied in oil field development and to improve the exploration success ratio.

Development of a High Temperature and High Pressure oil-Based Drilling Fluid Emulsion Stability Tester

When drilling deep wells and ultra-deep wells, the downhole high temperature and high pressure environment will affect the emulsion stability of oil-based drilling fluids. Moreover, neither the demulsification voltage method nor the centrifugal method currently used to evaluate the stability of oil-based drilling fluids can reflect the emulsification stability of drilling fluids under high temperature and high pressure on site. Therefore, a high-temperature and high-pressure oil-based drilling fluid emulsion stability evaluation instrument is studied, which is mainly composed of a high-temperature autoclave body, a test electrode, a temperature control system, a pressure control system, and a test system. The stability test results of the instrument show that the instrument can achieve stable testing and the test data has high reliability. This instrument is used to analyze the factors affecting the emulsion stability of oil-based drilling fluids. The experimental results show that under the same conditions, the higher the stirring speed, the better the emulsion stability of the drilling fluid;the longer the stirring time, the better the emulsion stability of the drilling fluid;the greater the oil-water ratio, the better the emulsion stability of the drilling fluid. And the test results of the emulsification stability of oil-based drilling fluids at high temperature and high pressure show that under the same pressure, as the temperature rises, the emulsion stability of oil-based drilling fluids is significantly reduced;at the same temperature, the With the increase in pressure, the emulsion stability of oil-based drilling fluids is in a downward trend, but the decline is not large. Relatively speaking, the influence of temperature on the emulsion stability of oil-based drilling fluids is greater than that of pressure.

An improved high-oleic line created by chemical mutagen of ‘Huayu 40’

By using chemical mutagenesis, ‘Huayu 40’, a normal-oleic(NO) large-seed high yielding peanut cultivar with wide adaptability was transformed into mutants with desirable high-oleic(HO) quality traits, comparable productivity and adaptability. Of the 3 chemical treatments, viz. 5 mM ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS), 25 mM EMS and 15 mM sodium azide(NaN_3), only NaN_3 produced HO M_2 mutant plants. High oleate phenotype was initially identified by near infrared spectroscopy(NIRS) screening, and was further confirmed by gas spectrometry(GC) analysis. Sequence analysis showed that HO plant had a 448 G>A mutation in FAD2 A and a 441_442 insA mutation in FAD2 B, respectively. Although the direct use of high yielding and stress resistant cultivars/lines to induce quality mutations might be a judicious choice to accelerate breeding, our results showed that chemical mutagenesis could quickly create HO peanut materials and expand the genetic bases of HO peanuts.

The managing of information and data between researching groups is critical to the success of any exploration or development project. Poor communication and data sharing between technological departments can result in incomplete interpretations or inaccurate drilling decisions making. According to the statistic results, the time cost in retrieving and collecting data will occupy more than 70 % percent of the total working time of technicians during the petroleum geological researching. This paper is a summary of the characteristics and the development of the Data & Graphic management system for oil & gas *** that the system's application in oil & gas exploration and researching, which has improved the quality and accurateness of mapping has been summarized in detail. The application of the system mentioned above has proved to be very successful in Daqing oilfield.

Mathematic modeling, established on the basis of physical experiments, is becoming an increasingly important tool in oil and gas migration studies. This technique is based on the observation that hydrocarbon migration tends to take relative narrow pathways. A mathematical model of hydrocarbon migration and accumulation is constructed using the percolation theory. It is then calibrated using physical experimental results, and is tested under a variety of conditions, to understand the applicability of the model in different migration cases. Through modeling, dynamic conditions of large-scale migration pathways within homogeneous formations can be evaluated. Basin-scale hydrocarbon migration pathways and their characteristics are analyzed during the model application to the Chang-8 Member of the Triassic Yanchang Formation in Longdong area of Ordos Basin. In heterogeneous formations, spatial changes in fluid potential determine the direction of secondary migration, and heterogeneity controls the characteristics and geometry of secondary migration pathways.

Centrifuge model test on performance of thermosyphon cooled sandbags stabilizing warm oil pipeline buried in permafrost

The thaw settlement of pipeline foundation soils in response to the operation of the first China-Russia Crude oil Pipeline along the eastern flank of the northern Da Xing'anling Mountains in Northeast China was simulated in a physical model test(with a similitude ratio of 1/73) in a geotechnical centrifuge. Two pipes of a supported and an unsupported section were evaluated over a testing period for simulating 20 years of actual pipeline operation with seasonal cyclically changing oil and ambient temperatures. The results show that pipe settlement of the supported pipe was 45% of settlement of the unsupported pipe. Settlement for the unsupported section was approximately 35% of the thaw bulb depth below the initial pipe elevation, only 30% of that for the supported pipe due to the influence of the supports. The final thaw bulbs extended approximately 3.6 and 1.6 times of the pipe diameter below the unsupported and supported pipe bottom elevations, respectively. The sandbag supports kept frozen during the test period because of cooling effect of the thermosyphons. The maximum bending stress induced over the 20 m span length from bearing of the full cover over the pipe would be equivalent to40% specified minimum yield strength(SMYS). Potential buckling of the pipe should be considered as the ground *** study also offers important data for calibration and validation of numerical simulation models.
