Effect of Traditional Chinese Herbs Combined with Low Dose human Menopausal Gonadotropin Applied in Frozen-thawed Embryo Transfer

Objective： To assess embryo implantation rate （IR） and pregnancy rate （PR） in women who received Bushen Wengong Decoction （补肾温宫汤, BSWGD）, a Chinese herbal formula, combined with low dose of human menopausal gonadotropin （hMG） prior to frozen-thawed embryo transfer （FET）. Methods： A total of 262 subjects （674 transferred embryos） who received FET were analyzed retrospectively. In them, 122 women were under 30 years old, 106 between 30-35 years and 32 over 35 years. The 85 subjects with normal ovulation were assigned to Group A, the natural menstruation cycling group, on whom no pre-transfer treatment was applied. The other 177 subjects with abnormal ovulation were assigned to Group B, and subdivided, according to the pre-transfer treatment they received, into three groups, Group B1 （50 cases） received BSWGD, Group B2 （58 cases） received hMG and Group B3 （69 cases） received both BSWGD and low dose hMG. The IR and PR of FET in the four groups were compared time on PR of FET were compared also. Besides, the influencing factors and the effect of the embryo cryoto FET were analyzed. Results： IR and PR were significantly higher in all age sects of Group B3 than those in Group A, showing significant difference （ P〈0.05）. IR and PR in subjects in age sects of 〈30 years and 〉 35 years in group B3 were significantly higher than those in Group B1 （ P〈0.05）, but no significant difference was shown in the two parameters between Group B 2 and Group B3 （P〉0.05）. PR in the subjects who received embryos with cryo-time of 〉 200 days was significantly lower than that in those with cryo-time of ~ 100 days （P〈0.05）. Embryo cryo-time, endometrial thickness, use of BSWGD and use of hMG were of significance in FET （ P〈 0.05）. Conclusion： A programmed cycle of BSWGD combined with low dose of hMG could improve the embryo IR and PR of FET. Embryo cryo-time, endometrial thickness, and the use of BSWGD and hMG are of significance for FET.

Development dysplasia of the hip （DDH） is one of the most common hip defects in newborns. The main phenotypes of the disease are partial or whole femoral head extrusion from the acetahulum [1]. Because the frequency of DDH in mon- ozygotic twins was higher than that in dizygotic twins, and the affected individuals were often in the same family [2], we are focusing on the genetic factor in the present study.

Because of unavoidable complications of vasectomy, this study was undertaken to assess the efficacy and safety of male sterilization with a nonobstructive intravas device （IVD） implanted into the vas lumen by a mini-surgical method compared with no-scalpel vasectomy （NSV）. IVDs were categorized into two types： IVD-B has a tail used for fixing to the vas deferens （fixed wing） whereas IVD-A does not. A multicenter prospective randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted in China. The study was comprised of 1459 male volunteers seeking vasectomy who were randomly assigned to the IVD-A （n = 487）, IVD-B （n = 485） or NSV （n = 487） groups and underwent operation. Follow-up included visits at the 3rd-6TM and 12~ postoperative months, The assessments of the subjects involved regular physical examinations （including general and andrological examinations） and semen analysis. The subjects＇ partners also underwent monitoring for pregnancy by monthly interviews regarding menstruation and if necessary, urine tests, There were no significant differences in pregnancy rates （0.65% for IVD-A, 0 for IVD-B and 0.21% for NSV） among the three groups （P 〉 0.05）. The cumulative rates of complications at the 12th postoperative month were zero, 0.9% and 1.7% in the three groups, respectively. In conclusion, IVD male sterilization exhibits a low risk of long-term adverse events and was found to be effective as a male sterilization method, similar to the NSV technique. IVD male sterilization is expected to be a novel contraceptive method.

AIM: To understand and analyze what young Italian males attending high school would like to ask andrologists but do not know how to or do not have the courage to do ***: As part of our "Androlife" campaign, we invited 1565 students attending the last year of high school to participate in our research. Firstly, they attended a lesson on general and andrological health and then, on a voluntary basis, they responded to a survey and were subjected to a preventive andrological visit. RESULTS: The data analysis showed that the main topics in which young people are interested are: sexual activity and sexuality, sexually transmitted diseases, andrological health and fertility, and ***: This study highlights that young people are very interested in sexual health issues and that they have specific needs and interests with regard to sexual health information. Public education campaigns such as Androlife should be supported and further improved on the basis of the advice received by young participants. Sexual and reproductive health educationtargeting adolescents and young adults represent the basis both for wellness and for fertility preservation, and thus benefits of increased support to educational campaigns would be apparent not only in terms of individual health but also in terms of cost reduction in public spending.

In a previous paper, 4 hybridoma cell lines (1B3, 2D5, 2A4 and 2B6) secreting antibodiesagainst heavy chain of hmnan IgG were reported. In this paper a more detailed study of theseMcAbs was introduced. First of all they were studied with double immunodiffusion test inagarose and it was demonstrated that they were reactive against 3 distinct antigenic deter-minants of human IgG. This result was also confirmed by ELISA competition test. TheseMeAbs were further analysed for human IgG subclass proteins and it was found that 1B3McAb gave positive reaction with all subclasses of IgG while the other 3 possessed confinedsubclass reactivity, i.e. McAb 2A4 did not react with IgG3 (ealled non-IgG3 McAb), andboth McAbs 2D5 and 2B6 did not react with IgG4 (called non-IgG4 McAb). By agarose immunodiffusion test it was shown that: (i) Only transparent precipitation linewas formed when McAb reacted with IgG antigen, however, in agarose containing 2% PEG-6000, the transparent precipitation line becomes opaque; (ii) When

Background:One Health has become a global consensus to deal with complex health ***,the pro‑gress of One Health implementation in many countries is still relatively slow,and there is a lack of systematic evalua‑tion *** purpose of this study was to establish an indicator framework for global One Health Intrinsic Drivers index(GOH-IDI)to evaluate human,animal and environmental health development process ***:First,82 studies were deeply analyzed by a grounded theory(GT)method,including open coding,axial coding,and selective coding,to establish a three-level indicator framework,which was composed of three selective codes,19 axial codes,and 79 open ***,through semi-structured interviews with 28 health-related experts,the indicators were further integrated and simplifed according to the inclusion criteria of the ***,the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process combined with the entropy weight method was used to assign weights to the indi‑cators,thus,forming the evaluation indicator framework of human,animal and environmental health development ***:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was formed consisting of three selective codes,15 axial codes and 61 open *** were six axial codes for“human Health”,of which“Infectious Diseases”had the highest weight(19.76%)and“Injuries and Violence”had the lowest weight(11.72%).There were four axial codes for“Animal Health”,of which“Animal Epidemic Disease”had the highest weight(39.28%)and“Animal Nutritional Status”had the low‑est weight(11.59%).Five axial codes were set under“Environmental Health”,among which,“Air Quality and Climate Change”had the highest weight(22.63%)and“Hazardous Chemicals”had the lowest weight(17.82%).Conclusions:An indicator framework for GOH-IDI was established in this *** framework were universal,balanced,and scientifc,which hopefully to be a tool for evaluation of the joint development of human,animal and environmental health in diferent reg

Mutations in the haemochromatosis gene （HFE） influence iron status in the general population of Northern Europe, and excess iron is associated with the impairment of spermatogenesis. The aim of this study is to investigate the association between three mutations （C282Y, H63D and S65C） in the HFEgene with idiopathic male infertility in the Chinese Han population. Two groups of Chinese men were recruited： 444 infertile men （including 169 with idiopathic azoospermia） and 423 controls with proven fertility. The HFEgene was detected using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP） technique. The experimental results demonstrated that no C282Y or $65C mutations were detected. Idiopathic male infertility was not significantly associated with heterozygous H63D mutation （odds ratio=O.801, 95% confidence interval=0.452-1.421, X2=0.577, P=0.448）. The H63D mutation frequency did not correlate significantly with the serum luteinizing hormone （LH）, follicle-stimulating hormone （FSH） and testosterone （T） levels in infertile men （P=0.896, P=0.404 and P=O.05, respectively）. Our data suggest that the HFEH63D mutation is not associated with idiopathic male reproductive dysfunction.

Spermatogenesis is a complex process. Two spermatocytes expression sequence tags (ESTs) BG101130 and BG100990 were found. Their putative amino acid sequences have high homology with rat Spag4 (sperm antigen 4). By electrical hybridization, a novel cDNA encoding polypeptide of 348 amino acid residues was identified from a mouse testis cDNA library. The new gene was designated as SRG4 (Spermatogenesis related gene 4) (GenBank accession No. AY307077). Results of Northern blot and RT- PCR revealed that SRG4 expressed specifically in mouse testis. Changes of SRG4 expression in mouse dif- ferent development stages were observed by RT-PCR. The SRG4 mRNA was hardly detected in 2 weeks postpartum, and expressed abundantly from 3 weeks later, reaching top lever at 4–5 weeks, while slightly down in aging mouse testis. Results of in situ hybridization showed that SRG4 gene expressed abundantly in spermatocytes, round spermatids. This indicated SRG4 gene may play an important role in mouse meiotic divisions of spermatocytes.
