Ovarian tumors comprise a heterogeneous group of lesions, displaying distinct tumor pathology and oncogenic potentiel. These tumors are subdivided into three main categories: epithelial, germ cell, and sex-cord stromal tumors. We report herein the newly described molecular abnormalities in epithelial ovarian cancers(carcinomas). Immunohistochemistry and molecular testing help pathologists to decipher the significant heterogeneity of this disease. Our better understanding of the molecular basis of ovarian carcinomas represents the first step in the development of targeted therapies in the near future.

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths of women in the United States. Fortunately, the mortality rate from breast cancer has decreased in recent years due to an increased emphasis on early detection and more effective treatments. Although great advancements have been made in the treatment and control of cancer progression, significant deficiencies and room for improvement remain. The central objective of this research was to further determine the in vitro mechanisms of Vernonia amygdalina (VA) leaf extracts as an anticancer candidate for the treatment of breast cancer. To achieve our objective, MCF-7 cells were treated with different concentrations of VA for 24 hand 48 h. Cell viability, live and dead cells were determined by the means of trypan blue exclusion test. Live and dead cells were further evaluated by propidium iodine (PI) assay using the Cellometer Vision. Cell apoptosis was measured by flow cytometry assessment using annexin V/PI kit. Data obtained from the trypan blue test demonstrated that VA treatment reduces cell viability in a concentration- and time-dependent manner. Result of the PI assay showed a gradual increase in the population of necrotic cells (fluorescence positive cells) in VA-treated cells compared to the control cells (fluorescence negative cells). Treatment of these cancer cells (MCF-7) for 48 h at concentrations ranging from 250 μg/mL to 1000 μg/mL caused early signs of apoptosis resulting from phosphatidylserine externalization as judged by annexin V assay. We observed a strong concentration-response relationship with regard to VA exposure and annexin V/PI positive cells. In summary, our finding demonstrates that VA-induced cytotoxicity and apoptosis in MCF-7 cells involve phosphatidylserine externalization accompanied by secondary necrotic cell death. Non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)ranks as one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths *** the prominence and effectiveness of kinase-target therapies in NSCLC treatment,these drugs are suitable for and beneficial to a mere~30%of NSCLC ***,the need for novel strategies addressing NSCLC remains ***(DUBs),a group of diverse enzymes with well-defined catalytic sites that are frequently overactivated in cancers and associated with tumorigenesis and regarded as promising therapeutic ***,the mechanisms by which DUBs promote NSCLC remain poorly *** a global analysis of the 97 DUBs’contribution to NSCLC survival possibilities using The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)database,we found that high expression of Josephin Domain-containing protein 2(JOSD2)predicted the poor prognosis of *** of JOSD2 significantly impeded NSCLC growth in both cell/patient-derived xenografts in ***,we found that JOSD2 restricts the kinase activity of LKB1,an important tumor suppressor generally inactivated in NSCLC,by removing K6-linked polyubiquitination,an action vital for maintaining the integrity of the LKB1-STRAD-MO25 ***,we identified the first small-molecule inhibitor of JOSD2,and observed that its pharmacological inhibition significantly arrested NSCLC proliferation in vitro/in *** findings highlight the vital role of JOSD2 in hindering LKB1 activity,underscoring the therapeutic potential of targeting JOSD2 in NSCLC,especially in those with inactivated LKB1,and presenting its inhibitors as a promising strategy for NSCLC treatment.
