Upper and Lower Bounds of the α-Universal triple I Method for Unified Interval Implications

theα-universal triple I(α-UtI)method is a recognized scheme in the field of fuzzy reasoning,whichwas proposed by our research group *** robustness of fuzzy reasoning determines the quality of reasoning algorithms to a large extent,which is quantified by calculating the disparity between the output of fuzzy reasoning with interference and the output without ***,in this study,the interval robustness(embodied as the interval stability)of theα-UtI method is explored in the interval-valued fuzzy *** begin with,the stability of theα-UtI method is explored for the case of an individual rule,and the upper and lower bounds of its results are estimated,using four kinds of unified interval implications(including the R-interval implication,the S-interval implication,the QL-interval implication and the interval t-norm implication).through analysis,it is found that theα-UtI method exhibits good interval stability for an individual ***,the stability of theα-UtI method is revealed in the case of multiple rules,and the upper and lower bounds of its outcomes are *** results show that theα-UtI method is stable for multiple rules when four kinds of unified interval implications are used,***,theα-UtI reasoning chain method is presented,which contains a chain structure with multiple *** corresponding solutions and their interval perturbations are *** is found that theα-UtI reasoning chain method is stable in the case of chain *** application examples in affective computing are given to verify the stability of theα-*** summary,through theoretical proof and example verification,it is found that theα-UtImethod has good interval robustness with four kinds of unified interval implications aiming at the situations of an individual rule,multi-rule and reasoning chain.

An approach for finding causal relations in environmental systems:with an application to understand drivers of a toxic algal bloom

Background Discovering causality in environmental systems is challenging because frequently controlled experiments or numerical simulations are difficult. Algorithms to learn directed acyclic graphs from system data are powerful, but they often result in too many possible causal structures that cannot be properly *** An approach to this problem proposed here is to initially restrict the system to a target variable with its two major drivers. Subsequently, testable causal structures are obtained from rules to infer directed acyclic graphs and expert knowledge. the proposed approach, which is essentially based on correlation and regression, was applied to understand drivers of a toxic algal bloom in the Odra River in summer 2022. through this application, useful insight on the interplay between river flow and salt inputs that likely caused the algal bloom was *** the Odra River example demonstrated that carefully applied correlation and regression techniques together with expert knowledge can help to discover reliable casual structures in environmental systems.

HDPairFinder:A data processing platform for hydrogen/deuterium isotopic labeling-based nontargeted analysis of trace-level amino-containing chemicals in environmental water

the combination of hydrogen/deuterium(H/D)formaldehyde-based isotopic methyl labeling with solid-phase extraction and high-performance liquid chromatography–high resolution mass spectrometry(HPLC-HRMS)is a powerful analytical solution for nontargeted analysis of trace-level amino-containing chemicals in water *** the huge amount of chemical information generated in HPLC-HRMS analysis,identifying all possible H/Dlabeled amino chemicals presents a significant challenge in data *** address this,we designed a streamlined data processing pipeline that can automatically extract H/D-labeled amino chemicals from the raw HPLC-HRMS data with high accuracy and ***,we developed a cross-correlation algorithm to correct the retention time shift resulting from deuterium isotopic effects,which enables reliable pairing of H-and D-labeled ***,we implemented several bioinformatic solutions to remove false chemical features generated by in-source fragmentation,salt adduction,and natural13C ***,we used a data mining strategy to construct the AMINES library that consists of over 38,000 structure-disjointed primary and secondary amines to facilitate putative compound ***,we integrated these modules into a freely available R program,*** rationale of each module was justified and its performance tested using experimental H/D-labeled chemical standards and authentic water *** further demonstrated the application of HDPairFinder to effectively extract N-containing contaminants,thus enabling the monitoring of changes of primary and secondary N-compounds in authentic water *** is a reliable bioinformatic tool for rapid processing of H/D isotopic methyl labeling-based nontargeted analysis of water samples,and will facilitate a better understanding of N-containing chemical compounds in water.

Micro-milling technology is widely applied in micro manufacturing,particularly for the fabrication of miniature and micro ***,the chatters and machining dynamics related issues in micro-milling are often the main challenges restricting its machining quality and *** research works have rendered that the machining dynamics and chatters in micro-milling are more complex compared with the conventional macro-milling process,likely because of the size effect and rigidity of the micro-milling system including the tooling,workpiece,process variables,materials involved,and the high-speed milling machines,and further their collective dynamic ***,in this paper,the state of the art focusing on micro-milling chatters and dynamics related issues over the past years are comprehensively and critically reviewed to provide some insights for potential researchers and ***,typical applications and the problems caused by the machining dynamics and chatters in micro-milling have been put forward in this ***,the research on the underlying micro-cutting mechanics and dynamics,stability analysis,chatters detection,and chatter suppression are summarized ***,the underlying scientific and technological challenges are discussed particularly against typical precision engineering ***,the possible future directions and trends in research and development of micro-milling have been discussed.

Improved State-space Modelling for Microgrids Without virtual Resistances

Power converters and their interfacing networks are often treated as modular state-space blocks for small-signal stability studies in microgrids;they are interconnected by matching the input and output states of the network and *** resistors have been widely used in existing models to generate a voltage for state-space models of the network that require voltage *** paper accurately quantifies the adverse impacts of adding the virtual resistance and proposes an alternative method for network modelling that eliminates the requirement of the virtual resistor when interfacing converters with *** proposed nonlinear method allows initialization,time-domain simulations of the nonlinear model,and linearization and eigenvalue generation.A numerically linearized small-signal model is used to generate eigenvalues and is compared with the eigenvalues generated using the existing modelling method with virtual *** of the existing method and improvements offered by the proposed modelling method are clearly *** transient(EMt)simulations using detailed switching models are used for validation of the proposed modelling method.

Realgar-indigo naturalis formula for the treatment of patients with relapsed and arsenic trioxide-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia:A case series

Introduction there is currently no standard treatment for relapsed and arsenic trioxide(AtO)-resistant acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL).Here,we report a case series of realgar-indigo naturalis formula(RIF)for the successful treatment of patients with relapsed and AtO-resistant *** presentation two patients in the first relapse and one in the second relapse failed to achieve hematologic complete remission(HCR)when reinduced by AtO;the other five patients progressed to relapse during AtO-based regimens for post-remission *** eight patients received RIF in three doses per day totaling 130 mg/kg(≤30 pills)as induction therapy and achieved HCR at a median time of 46.5 *** received 5 years of post-remission therapy,which consisted of combined chemotherapy followed by *** this period,the patients did not experience renal dysfunction or Qt interval *** the last follow-up,three patients survived without relapse,two patients survived with a second or third relapse and third or fourth remission,and the other three patients relapsed for a third or fourth time and *** 5-year overall survival and event-free survival rates were 75.0%(95%confidence interval[CI]:31.5–93.1)and 37.5%(95%CI:5.6–71.7),*** RIF for induction therapy and RIF combined with chemotherapy for post-remission therapy may represent an effective and safe protocol for the treatment of patients with relapsed and AtO-resistant APL.

Analytical investigations of in situ stress inversion from borehole breakout geometries

this study aims to investigate the feasibility of deriving in situ horizontal stresses from the breakout width and depth using the analytical ***-three breakout data with different borehole sizes were collected and three failure criteria were *** on the Kirsch equations,relatively accurate major horizontal stress(sH)estimations from known minor horizontal stress(sh)were achieved with percentage errors ranging from 0.33%to 44.08%using the breakout *** Mogi-Coulomb failure criterion(average error:13.1%)outperformed modified Wiebols-Cook(average error:19.09%)and modified Lade(average error:18.09%)failure ***,none of the tested constitutive models could yield reasonable sh predictions from known sH using the same approach due to the analytical expression of the redistributed stress and the nature of the constitutive *** consideration of this issue,the horizontal stress ratio(sH/sh)is suggested as an alternative input,which could estimate both sH and sh with the same level of ***,the estimation accuracies for both large-scale and laboratory-scale breakouts are comparable,suggesting the applicability of this approach across different breakout *** breakout depth,conformal mapping and complex variable method were used to calculate the stress concentration around the breakout tip,allowing the expression of redistributed stresses using binomials composed of sH and ***,analysis of the breakout depth stabilisation mechanism indicates that additional parameters are required to utilise normalised breakout depth for stress estimation compared to breakout *** parameters are challenging to obtain,especially under field conditions,meaning utilising normalised breakout depth analytically in practical applications faces significant challenges and remains infeasible at this ***,the normalised breakout depth should still be considered a critical input for any empirical and statistical stres

Recently,intelligent fault diagnosis based on deep learning has been extensively investigated,exhibiting state-of-the-art ***,the deep learning model is often not truly trusted by users due to the lack of interpretability of“black box”,which limits its deployment in safety-critical applications.A trusted fault diagnosis system requires that the faults can be accurately diagnosed in most cases,and the human in the deci-sion-making loop can be found to deal with the abnormal situa-tion when the models *** this paper,we explore a simplified method for quantifying both aleatoric and epistemic uncertainty in deterministic networks,called *** SAEU,Multivariate Gaussian distribution is employed in the deep architecture to compensate for the shortcomings of complexity and applicability of Bayesian neural *** on the SAEU,we propose a unified uncertainty-aware deep learning framework(UU-DLF)to realize the grand vision of trustworthy fault ***,our UU-DLF effectively embodies the idea of“humans in the loop”,which not only allows for manual intervention in abnor-mal situations of diagnostic models,but also makes correspond-ing improvements on existing models based on traceability ***,two experiments conducted on the gearbox and aero-engine bevel gears are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of UU-DLF and explore the effective reasons behind.
