Objective:Peyronie’s disease(PD)is an abnormal wound healing in the penile tunica *** fibrotic plaque excision,different graft materials have been used to repair the defects,but the optimal graft remains *** study aimed to compare the functional outcomes of testicular tunica vaginalis grafts and bovine pericardium grafts in patients with severe ***:A retrospective comparative study was conducted on 33 PD patients undergoing partial plaque excision and grafting from September 2015 to May *** patients were divided into two groups depending on the type of graft *** 15 patients in Group B,testicular tunica vaginalis grafts were used to repair the defect,while for 18 patients in Group A,bovine pericardium grafts were *** of the patient’s age,comorbidities,sexual function,penile curvature,postoperative complications,need for further treatment,change in penile length,and satisfaction were gathered and compared between the *** function was evaluated using the 5-item version of the International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5),and a functional less than 20-degree penile curvature after surgery was considered a successful ***:There was no difference in age,comorbidities,degree of curvature,perioperative IIEF-5,operative time,plaque size,or complication *** surgery,a statistically significant improvement in curvature degree(p<0.05)and satisfactory penile appearance(p<0.05)were seen in both groups without any superiority between the two groups(p=0.423 and p=0.840,respectively).With a 30-month follow-up,the IIEF-5 was consistent in both groups,with no statistical significance between the groups(p=0.492).The main change in penile length during the operation was increased and still positive in the last follow-up in both groups without statistical significance(p=0.255 and p=0.101,respectively).Conclusion:Partial plaque excision and corporoplasty with both testicular tunica vaginalis or bovine pericard

Objective:To explore the potential of metanephric mesenchymal cells(MMCs)for osteogenesis and naringin’s ability to enhance this process and its molecular ***:Porcine MMCs at 70 days of gestation were used as tool cells,cultured in osteogenic induction medium,identified by immunocytochemistry *** potential of porcine MMCs and naringin’s ability to enhance this process was tested by detecting changes in cell viability,alkaline phosphatase(ALP)activity,the expression of runt-related transcription factor 2(Runx2),osteopontin(OPN)and osteocalcin(OCN),and the formation of mineralized nodules,and the application of the p38 signaling pathway inhibitor SB203580 vitiated the osteogenesis-promoting effect of ***:Immunocytochemical staining showed that the cells were Vimentin and Six2(+),E-cadherin and CK-18(−).Naringin can activate the p38 signaling pathway to enhance the osteogenesis of porcine MMCs by increasing cell viability,ALP activity,the expressions of Runx2,OPN and OCN,and the formation of mineralized nodules(P<0.05).The application of p38 signaling pathway inhibitor SB203580 vitiated the osteogenesis-promoting effect of naringin,manifested by decreased ALP activity,the expressions of Runx2,OPN and OCN,and the formation of mineralized nodules(P<0.05).Conclusion:Naringin,the active ingredient of Chinese herbal medicine Rhizoma Drynariae for nourishing Shen(Kidney)and strengthening bone,enhances the osteogenic differentiation of renal MMCs through the p38 signaling pathway.

Distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndromes in diabetic kidney disease chronic kidney disease 1-5: a correlation study

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the distribution of Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) syndromes in patients with diabetic kidney disease(DKD) and its related ***: We enrolled 435 patients with DKD, who were not undergoing dialysis, admitted to the Department of nephrology, First Medical center, Chinese PLA General Hospital from April 2020 to August *** of their TCM syndromes and related factors was carried ***: The 435 patients included 109, 117, 86, and 123 chronic kidney disease(CKD) 1-2, CKD3, CKD4, and CKD5 cases, respectively. With the progression of CKD1-5, the proportion of Yin deficiency and dry heat syndrome,and that of Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome showed a downward trend, whereas the proportion of spleen-kidney Yang deficiency, blood deficiency, blood stasis, water stagnation, and phlegm turbidity syndromes showed an upward trend;the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Yin deficiency and dry heat syndrome was positively correlated with hemoglobin [odds ratio(OR) =1.022, P = 0.005], albumin(OR = 1.058, P = 0.006), and estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)(OR = 1.020,P < 0.001) but negatively correlated with male sex(OR =0.277, P = 0.004). Qi and Yin deficiency syndrome was positively correlated with albumin(OR = 1.056, P < 0.001)and eGFR(OR = 1.008, P = 0.022) but negatively correlated with age(OR = 0.977, P = 0.023). Liver-kidney Yin deficiency syndrome was positively correlated with age(OR = 1.028, P = 0.021) and glycosylated hemoglobin(OR = 1.223, P = 0.007) but negatively correlated with total cholesterol(OR = 0.792, P = 0.006).Spleen-kidney Yang deficiency syndrome was negatively correlated with hemoglobin(OR = 0.977, P < 0.001),albumin(OR = 0.891, P < 0.001), and eGFR(OR = 0.978,P < 0.001) but positively correlated with high density lipoprotein(OR = 3.376, P = 0.001). We aim to evaluate the incidence of incontinence following laser endoscopic enucleation of the prostate(EEP)comparing en-bloc(Group 1)versus 2-lobe/3-lobe techniques(Group 2).We performed a retrospective review of patients undergoing EEP for benign prostaticenlargement in 12 centers between January 2020 and January *** were presented as median and interquartile range(IQR).Univariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate factors associated with stress urinary incontinence(SUI)and mixed urinary incontinence(MUI).There were 1711 patients in Group 1 and 3357 patients in Group *** in Group 2were significantly younger(68[62–73]years vs 69[63–74]years,P=0.002).Median(interquartile range)prostate volume(PV)wassimilar between the groups(70[52–92]ml in Group 1 vs 70[54–90]ml in Group 2,P=0.774).There was no difference in preoperativeInternational Prostate Symptom Score,quality of life,or maximum flow ***,morcellation,and total surgical time weresignificantly shorter in Group *** 1 month,overall incontinence rate was 6.3%in Group 1 versus 5.3%in Group 2(P=0.12),and urge incontinence was significantly higher in Group 1(55.1%vs 37.3%in Group 2,P<0.001).After 3 months,the overall rate ofincontinence was 1.7%in Group 1 versus 2.3%in Group 2(P=0.06),and SUI was significantly higher in Group 2(55.6%vs 24.1%in Group 1,P=0.002).At multivariable analysis,PV and IPSS were factors significantly associated with higher odds of transient SUI/***,surgical time,and no early apical release technique were factors associated with higher odds of persistent SUI/MUI.
