In this article we propose a novel hurdle negative binomial (HNB) regression combined with a distributed lag nonlinear model (DLNM) to model weather factors’ impact on heat related illness (HRI) in Singapore. AIC criterion is adopted to help select proper combination of weather variables and check their lagged effect as well as nonlinear effect. The process of model selection and validation is demonstrated. It is observed that the predicted occurrence rate is close to the observed one. The proposed combined model can be used to predict HRI cases for mitigating HRI occurrences and provide inputs for related public health policy considering climate change impact.

The redevelopment and regeneration of coal mining subsidence area has always been a hot topic in the?eld of social and scienti?c *** on remote sensing and the geographic information system(GIS)platform and considering the opinions of experts from various disciplines,this paper intends to take the landscape planning and design of the coal mining subsidence area in Nanhu of Tangshan as an example to discuss the planning design strategies and substantial implementing approaches to transform abandoned urban land into a national urban wetland park,which specifically includes:①anticipation of geological subsidence disaster and construction of ecological security pattern;②coal ash management;③garbage mountain transformation;④application of eco-technologies for solving ground subsidence,etc.,so as to provide technical methods and research ideas for the utilization directions,ecological protection,and construction of urban brown?eld in similar areas all over the world.

This study optimized the ventilator and furniture location of a tenement unit in a low-income urban habitat to obtain maximum experiential indoor environmental quality(e-IEQ)over the breathing *** interior layouts using a combination of the two design parameters of ventilator location and bed position were generated for optimizing the design *** layout could promote maximum indoor airflow and minimum indoor air temperature and contaminant *** this study,an improved indoor environment is hypothesized to be attainable through improved natural ventilation and thermal performance in the occupied zones.A sequential methodology involving“parametric design modeling ecomputational simulationemultiobjective optimizationemulticriteria decision making”-based framework was *** exhibited that the currently designed tenement unit had a poor indoor environment,whereas the hypothesized iterated layout“optimized design layout,scenario 3(ODL 3)”derived from the optimization and decision-making algorithm performed effectively in providing *** increase in experiential indoor air velocity by 0.2 m/s and a decrease in temperature by 2C were observed over the monitoring point in the ODL 3 considering the existing ***,this study can find a way toward the development of sustainable habitat design guidelines under upcoming slum redevelopment policies across the nation.

Since its process evolved in recent years, the definition of gentrification has expanded to cover different forms of social upgrading, new spaces and new actors around the world. Studies on gentrification in Chinese cities began to take off in the 2000 s. However, they all mainly focused on the newly emerging global cities and there has been a lack of investigation on provincial cities. Furthermore, discussions on gentrifiers′ profiles and their motivations for housing choice are absent from literature on Chinese gentrification. Therefore, this paper aims to assess the relevance of the broad definition of gentrification in provincial Chinese cities through empirical research on urban redevelopment projects in Chengdu, and to examine the characteristics of gentrifiers(as new incoming residents) in it. The results show the rationality of gentrification processes as urban redevelopment in Chengdu, and reveal original outcomes on the corresponding gentrifiers′ profiles and the motivations behind their housing choice, which are different from the general features of gentrifiers in standard Western gentrification research.

Through investigating the institutional change and urban development in Shanghai since 1978,this research identifi es that the gradual economic reforms have generated dynamic forces for urban development. As an example,this paper examines Changshoujie in detail to uncover its physical changes and to explore how the actors' roles and interests interplay as well as how the transitional institutions of property rights and urban planning have impacted the shaping of urban space. 117 projects constructed since 1978 are classifi ed into six development modes according to the characteristics of land users and developers. Although there is a time lag,the path depending on institutional change has a direct impact on urban development and the consequent spatial structure.

Guangdong Province started the so-called"three olds redevelopment"in 2009,aiming to advance industrial *** literature points out that appropriate distribution of land rent differential among the stakeholders like urban governments,village collectives,and developers is the most important *** the theory of urban regime,the paper focuses on the redevelopment process of the Lianjiao Area in the Pearl River Delta region to reveal how the three entities(government,rural community,and developers)*** has been found that the local urban government is the main driver which facilitates the positive accumulation of social capital through the supply of redevelopment policy and fi nancial *** the reconstruction of trust of villagers and developers,the government gains the rights to coordinate the *** the actual landholder,rural villages represent the profi ts of villagers in bargaining with the other two *** improvement in infrastructure and the formulation of detailed redevelopment plans increase the land rent differential,encouraging developers’participation in the *** three entities form a negotiation-based development alliance and fi nally lead to successful redevelopment.
