Benefiting from the abrupt phase changes within subwavelength thicknesses,metasurfaces have been widely applied for lightweight and compact optical *** broadband and high-efficiency characteristics are highly attractive for the practical implementation of ***,current metasurface devices mostly adopt discrete micro/nano structures,which rarely realize both merits *** this paper,dielectric metasurfaces composed of quasi-continuous nanostrips are proposed to overcome this *** quasi-continuous nanostrips metasurface,a normal focusing metalens and a superoscillatory lens overcoming the diffraction limit are designed and experimentally *** quasi-continuous metadevices can operate in a broadband wavelength ranging from 450 nm to 1000nm and keep a high power *** average efficiency of the fabricated metalens reaches 54.24%,showing a significant improvement compared to the previously reported metalenses with the same *** proposed methodology can be easily extended to design other metadevices with the advantages of broadband and high-efficiency in practical optical systems.

Effect of Multiple Models of Closed-loop Transfer Functions on Inter-harmonic Oscillation Characteristics of Grid-connected PMSG

Detachment Behavior of Gecko Toe in Functional Strategies for Bionic Toe

Geckos can efficiently navigate complex terrains due to their multi-level adhesive system that is present on their *** setae are responsible for the gecko’s extraordinary adhesion and have garnered wide attention from the scientific *** majority of the reported works in the literature that have dealt with the peeling models mainly focus on the gecko hierarchical adhesive system,with limited attention given to investigating the influence of gecko toe structure on the *** these lines,to gain a deeper understanding of the rapid and effortless detachment abilities of gecko toes,the peeling behavior of gecko toes on vertical surfaces was primarily investigated in this *** specifically,the detachment time of a single toe on a smooth acrylic plate was measured to be 0.41±0.21 ***,it was observed that the toe assumed a"U"-shaped structure upon complete ***,Finite Element Analysis(FEA)models for three different types of gecko toes were developed to simulate both the displacement-peel and the moment-peel *** the segmentation of the adhesive layer led to a gradual decrease in the resultant force,as well as the normal and tangential ***,a gecko-inspired toe model was constructed and powered by Shape Memory Alloy(SMA).A systematic comparison between the vertical drag separation and the outward flip separation was also *** our analysis,it was clearly demonstrated that outward peel separation significantly necessitated the reduction of the peeling force,thus confirming the advantageous nature of the outward motion in gecko toe *** data not only contribute to a deeper understanding of the gecko detachment behavior but also offer valuable insights for the advancement of the wall-climbing robot feet.

CMN: a co-designed neural architecture search for efficient computing-in-memory-based mixture-of-experts

Artificial intelligence(AI) has experienced substantial advancements recently, notably with the advent of large-scale language models(LLMs) employing mixture-of-experts(MoE) techniques, exhibiting human-like cognitive skills. As a promising hardware solution for edge MoE implementations, the computing-in-memory(CIM) architecture collocates memory and computing within a single device, significantly reducing the data movement and the associated energy consumption. However, due to diverse edge application scenarios and constraints, determining the optimal network structures for MoE, such as the expert's location,quantity, and dimension on CIM systems remains elusive. To this end, we introduce a software-hardware co-designed neural architecture search(NAS) framework, CIM-based MoE NAS(CMN), focusing on identifying a high-performing MoE structure under specific hardware constraints. The results of the NYUD-v2 dataset segmentation on the RRAM(SRAM) CIM system reveal that CMN can discover optimized MoE configurations under energy, latency, and performance constraints, achieving 29.67×(43.10×) energy savings,175.44×(109.89×) speedup, and 12.24× smaller model size compared to the baseline MoE-enabled Visual Transformer, respectively. This co-design opens up an avenue toward high-performance MoE deployments in edge CIM systems.

Highly responsive broadband Si-based MoS2 phototransistor on high-k dielectric

The demand for photodetectors and image sensors has grown exponentially in the past decade in biomedical, security surveillance, robotics, automotive, quality control, image recognition, and military applications, due to their superior quality, broadband detection, lower noise, and economic viability. Here,we report a MoS2channel-based phototransistor over an HfO2/n-Si substrate isolated by an h BN layer. The high photoresponse is achieved through the integration of the photoconduction, photogating, and mobility enhancement process by utilizing excellent features of MoS2, HfO2/Si, and h BN. The capacitive coupling of the photogenerated carriers by high-k dielectric HfO2leads to modulation of MoS2Fermi level due to electrostatic doping. Furthermore, the MoS2also contributes to the photogeneration of carriers due to its semiconducting nature, leading to additional photocurrent. Ultimately, the combination of photogating,photoconduction, and swift carrier extraction with remarkable mobility of 11.65 cm2· V-1· s-1results in high responsivity, external quantum efficiency, and detectivity of 4.5 × 10～8A · W-1, 0.72 × 10～6, and 6.20× 1016Jones at 266 nm illumination, respectively. The device also demonstrates broadband photoresponse from 266–1000 nm wavelengths. The high responsivity distinguishes the potential of our device for the future of optoelectronics and broadband image sensing applications.

Intelligent vehicle tracking and detection are crucial tasks in the realm of highway ***,vehicles come in a range of sizes,which is challenging to detect,affecting the traffic monitoring system’s overall *** learning is considered to be an efficient method for object detection in vision-based *** this paper,we proposed a vision-based vehicle detection and tracking system based on a You Look Only Once version 5(YOLOv5)detector combined with a segmentation *** model consists of six *** the first step,all the extracted traffic sequence images are subjected to pre-processing to remove noise and enhance the contrast level of the *** pre-processed images are segmented by lab.lling each pixel to extract the uniform regions to aid the detection phase.A single-stage detector YOLOv5 is used to detect and locate vehicles in *** detection was exposed to Speeded Up Robust Feature(SURF)feature extraction to track multiple *** on this,a unique number is assigned to each vehicle to easily locate them in the succeeding image frames by extracting them using the feature-matching ***,we implemented a Kalman filter to track multiple *** the end,the vehicle path is estimated by using the centroid points of the rectangular bounding box predicted by the tracking *** experimental results and comparison reveal that our proposed vehicle detection and tracking system outperformed other state-of-the-art *** proposed implemented system provided 94.1%detection precision for Roundabout and 96.1%detection precision for Vehicle Aerial Imaging from Drone(VAID)datasets,respectively.
