Carbon isotope composition and comparison of Lower Triassic marine carbonate rocks from Southern Longmenxia section in Guang＇an, Sichuan Basin

The Early Triassic was a period of ecological restoration for the earth's system after the end-Permian mass *** records linked to the variations in marine ecosystems during this period have attracted the interest of geologists for many *** on petrographic analysis of samples and evaluations of their reliability as proxies for original seawater,this study investigated the carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions of 350 carbonate rock samples from the Lower Triassic(and adjacent strata)in the southern Longmenxia section of Guang'an,eastern Sichuan *** results indicate that the Triassic carbonate rocks from the southern Longmenxia section favorably preserved the original seawater'sδ^(13)C ***,carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions are found to be poorly correlated,with a determination coefficient as low as 0.0205 and only 44 rock samples show results of Mn/Sr>2 and/orδ^(18)0-6.5‰.This curve presents favorable comparability on a global scale,specifically in theδ^(13)C minima near the Permian-Triassic boundary,at the top of the Jia1 and within the the Jia3,as well as in theδ^(13)C maxima at the tops of the Ye1 and Ye4,at the base of the Jia2 and at the top of the *** peaks and troughs corresponding to these maxima and minima all reflect global *** comparing these results to previous research on coeval carbon isotopic curves established within the chronostratigraphic framework,the ages of these critical evolution points are *** results show that the Ye1 roughly corresponds to the Griesbachian substage;the Ye2 through Ye4 correspond to the Dienerian substage;Jial corresponds to the Smithian substage;from the Jia2 to the lower part of the Jia4 correspond to the Spathian substage;and the middle and upper parts of the Jia4 belongs to the aegean Substage of

Clastic sedimentary features of beachrocks and their palaeo-environmental significance:comparison of past and modern coastal regimes

Clastic sedimentary features of beachrocks and unconsolidated deposits of parent beaches were investigated along the northern aegean coastline(Greece) to assess their suitability in palaeo-environmental *** paired datasets were collected in the Thermaikos,Toroneos,Siggitikos and lerissos gulfs of the Chalkidiki Peninsula,the adjoining Kavala Gulf and Thassos Island,comprising beachrock cores and companion beach subsurface *** size analyses based on univariate and bivariate statistics suggest that,during the time period of beachrock formation,depositional conditions differed distinctly from those of the modern parent *** results imply difference of maturity level of beach evolution from the time of cementation(coarser materials-early stage of beach formation) to modern situation(finer materials-reworked and ’mature’ beach sediments).Furthermore,the findings indicate increasing coastal protection due to beachrock exposure in the modern swash *** conclusion,it is suggested that textural analysis of beachrocks in comparison with unconsolidated sediments of the parent beach might provide information regarding differences of coastal depositional regimes and future research could focus on specific-layer analysis and comparison.

Permo–Triassic and Liassic Tethyan Oceanic Tracts within the Pontide Belt Along the Southern Margin of Eurasia, Northern Anatolia

The Pontide belt in northern Turkey includes three major tectonic terranes,the Strandja Massif（Sj M）,and the Istanbul（ISZ）and Sakarya Zones（SZ）(Fig.1).We present new age and geochemical data from ophiolites and ophiolitic mélanges within the Sakarya Zone and show that these mafic–ultramafic rocks are the remnants of Tethyan oceanic lithosphere formed in different tectonic *** main ophiolite occurrences investigated in this study along the Karakaya Suture（KS）are associated with the latest Triassic Cimmeride orogeny,and in the Küre–Yusufeli ophiolite belt are part of the Alpide *** Karakaya Suture Zone ophiolites in northern west Turkey are comprised mainly of the Denizgoren（?anakkale）ophiolite,Bo?azk?y（Bursa）,Geyve（Sakarya）,Almac?k（Düzce）and?ele（Bolu）*** Denizg?ren ophiolite largely contains upper mantle peridotites,which are equivalents of the Permo–Triassic Lesvos peridotites and mélange units farther SW in the northern aegean *** Bo?azk?y ophiolite includes serpentinite and metagabbro,and the Almac?k and Geyve ophiolites display an almost complete Penrose–type sequence consisting of serpentinizeduppermantleperidotites,cumulate ultramafic–mafic rocks,isotropic gabbros,dolerite and plagiogranite dikes,and extrusive rocks.U–Pb zircon dating of plagiogranite dikes from?ele has revealed an igneous age of 260 Ma,and 255,235,227 Ma from Almac?k（Bozkurt et al.,2012a,b）.Consistent with the previouslypublished Permo–Triassic age,we obtained a 268.4±6.3 Ma U–Pb zircon age from a plagiogranite dike within the Almacik ophiolite to the *** KS ophiolite belt containing the?ele,Almac?k,Geyve ophiolites within the SZ extends westward into the Armutlu Peninsula and then into the Biga Peninsula（***?ren ophiolite）and most likely connects with the remnants of the Triassic Meliata–Meliac ocean basin（Stampfli and Borel,2002）in the Balkan *** KS ophiolites also continue eastward within the Pontide Belt into the Elekda?ophiolite（e

An Intelligent Model for Online Recruitment Fraud Detection

This study research attempts to prohibit privacy and loss of money for individuals and organization by creating a reliable model which can detect the fraud exposure in the online recruitment environments. This research presents a major contribution represented in a reliable detection model using ensemble approach based on Random forest classifier to detect Online Recruitment Fraud (ORF). The detection of Online Recruitment Fraud is characterized by other types of electronic fraud detection by its modern and the scarcity of studies on this concept. The researcher proposed the detection model to achieve the objectives of this study. For feature selection, support vector machine method is used and for classification and detection, ensemble classifier using Random Forest is employed. A freely available dataset called Employment Scam aegean Dataset (EMSCAD) is used to apply the model. Pre-processing step had been applied before the selection and classification adoptions. The results showed an obtained accuracy of 97.41%. Further, the findings presented the main features and important factors in detection purpose include having a company profile feature, having a company logo feature and an industry feature.

An updated checklist of poisonous ifshes of Turkish aegean Sea

The current status of marine poisonous fish species ranging in the aegean Sea coastline in Turkey were *** is a peninsula surrounded by seas with different ecological features on three *** total length of shoreline is 8333 km including the *** total number of fish species in Turkish seas is 512,of which 449 live in the aegean Sea followed by the Mediterranean Sea(441 species),the Marmara Sea(257 species)and the Black Sea(154species).On the aegean Sea coasts,the richest sea regarding fish diversity,the number of poisonous fish species is also *** mini-review revealed 51 poisonous fish species belonging to 14 families in the Turkish aegean *** the aegean Sea coasts poisonous fish species can be categorized into three groups:(i)Fish that contain venomous spines on the tail or on the operculum(ii)Fish that carry poisonous bite and(iii)Fish having poisonous flesh or *** fish that contain venomous spines on the tail or on the operculum mostly are dangerous because of their poisonous thorns whereas the passive poisonous fish species poison when they are *** toxins can cause morbidity and rarely,mortality in *** from these,swallowing the blood of species such as European eel Anguilla anguilla and European conger Conger conger might also cause ***,as there has been an invasion of puffer fish especially on the Turkish Mediterranean and aegean coasts in recent years,there is a danger in ***,it is very important to particularly draw attention to these fish on the Turkish coasts.

Geodynamics of the South Balkan and Northern aegean Regions Driven by the Westward Escape of Anatolia

The Plio-Quaternary deformation pattern of the northern aegean and south Balkan regions is interpreted as an effect of the interaction between the Anatolian-aegean-Pelagonian system (Tethyan belt), undergoing westward extrusion and strong deformation, and the surrounding plates (Nubia, Europe and Adriatic). Since the middle-late Miocene, the collision of the Tethyan belt with the continental Adriatic domain has caused strong E-W shortening in the outer Hellenides and Albanides, also involving the southward extrusion of the Peloponnesus wedge, at the expense of the Ionian oceanic domain. The roughly E-W extension recognized in the western South Balkan zones (Macedonia and eastern Albania) is related to the divergence between the Pelagonian belt (Albanides and Hellenides) and the Rhodope-Moesia domain. Stressed by the westward displacement of the central Anatolian plateau and by the southward bowing of the Cycladic Arc, the northern aegean zone has contemporaneously undergone E-W compression and N-S extension, which has generated a series of dextral shear faults, delimiting a number of slats. The westward displacement and deformation of such slats can explain the morphological features of the northern aegean zone. During this phase, the push of the central Anatolian plateau also caused the separation of the Rhodope massif from the Moesian European domain, with the consequent formation of the upper Thrace basin. This hypothesis can explain the Plio-Quaternary compressional deformations recognized in a sector of the North Anatolian fault system, the Ganos-Gelibolu zone. The proposed geodynamic/tectonic interpretation may help to explain some features of the time-space distribution of major earthquakes in the study area.

Oil Spill Dispersion Forecasting with the Aid of a 3D Simulation Model

The simulation of the transport and fate of an oil slick, accidentally introduced in the marine environment, is the focus of this research. An oil spill dispersion forecasting system (DIAVLOS forecasting system), based on wind, wave and ocean circulation forecasting models is developed. The 3-D oil spill model, by the university of Thessaloniki, is based on a Lagrangian (tracer) model that accounts for the transport-diffusion-dispersion and physicochemical evolution of an oil slick. The high resolution meteorological, hydrodynamic and wave models are coupled with the operational systems ALERMO and SKIRON of the university of Athens. The modelling system was successfully assembled and tested under theoretical and realistic scenarios, in order to be applied in forecasting mode and be used by local authorities when an accident occurs. As a result, a 48-hours oil spill dispersion forecasting system was synthesized aiming primarily at the oil spill management at the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil-pipe terminal, part of a greater busy coastal basin in North aegean.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between lower urinary tract symptoms （LUTSs）, erectile dysfunction （ED） and symptomatic late-onset hypogonadism （SLOH） in ageing men in the aegean region of Turkey. Five hundred consecutive patients 〉40 years old who had been in a steady sexual relationship for the past 6 months and were admitted to one of six urology clinics were included in the study. Serum prostate-specific antigen and testosterone levels and urinary flow rates were measured. All patients filled out the International Prostate Symptom Score and Quality of Life （IPSS-QoL）, International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF） and Aging Males＇ Symptoms （AMS） scale forms. Of the patients, 23.9% had mild LUTSs, 53.3% had moderate LUTSs and 22.8% had severe LUTSs. The total testosterone level did not differ between groups. Additionally, 69.6% had ED. The presence of impotence increased with increasing LUTS severity. Symptomatic late-onset hypogonadism （AMS 〉27） was observed in 71.2% of the patients. The prevalence of severe hypogonadism symptoms increased with the IPSS scores. A correlation analysis revealed that all three questionnaire scores were significantly correlated. In conclusion, LUTS severity is an age-independent risk factor for ED and SLOH. LUTS severity and SLOH symptoms appear to have a strong link that requires etiological and biological clarification in future studies.

On the fecundity of the bogue Boops boops(Linnaeus,1758)in the Turkish aegean Sea

Objective:To determine the fecundity of Boops boops(***)from aegean Sea coast of ***:A total of 470 specimens of *** were collected monthly from November in 2008 to October of 2009 in Izmir Bay(central aegean Sea).Total length and total weight of each fish were measured and the maturity stages of gonads were *** 30 mature ovariums were taken to determine fecundity and oocysts were counted by using gravimetric ***:About 210 were females(44.7%)and 226 males(48.1%)while 34(7.2%)were hermafrodite in terms of sexuality with sex ratio(female:male)of 0.93:*** fecundity of the bogue was assessed by the gravimetric method with 30 ovaries from females between the total length of 19.6 and 27.6 cm[(mean:23.5±2.1)cm].Estimates of total fecundity varied between 33072 and 66123 oocytes(mean:49008±8826)and fecundity-total length,fecundity-weight relationships were expressed as:F=8207.6e^(0.075TL),F=30297e^(0.003TW)***:The results of the study will contribute to the reproductive biology of *** and will be useful for management of fisheries.
