Melon is as an alternative model to understand fruit ripening due to the coexistence of climacteric and non-climacteric varieties within the same species,allowing the study of the processes that regulate this complex trait with genetic *** phenotyped a population of recombinant inbred lines(RILs),obtained by crossing a climacteric(Védrantais,cantalupensis type)and a non-climcteric variety(Piel de Sapo T111,inodorus type),for traits related to climacteric maturation and ethylene *** in the RIL population exhibited various combinations of phenotypes that differed in the amount of ethylene produced,the early onset of ethylene production,and other phenotypes associated with *** characterized a major QTL on chromosome 8,ETHQV8.1,which is sufficient to activate climacteric ripening,and other minor QTLs that may modulate the climacteric *** ETHQV8.1 allele was validated by using two reciprocal introgression line populations generated by crossing Védrantais and Piel de Sapo and analyzing the ETHQV8.1 region in each of the genetic backgrounds.A Genome-wide association study(GWAS)using 211 accessions of the *** further identified two regions on chromosome 8 associated with the production of aromas,one of these regions overlapping with the 154.1 kb interval containing *** ETHQV8.1 region contains several candidate genes that may be related to fruit *** work sheds light into the regulation mechanisms of a complex trait such as fruit ripening.

Atmospheric Oxygen(O2)is one of the dominating features that allow the earth to be a habitable planet with advanced civilization and diverse ***,since the late 1980 s,observational data have indicated a steady decline in O2 content on the scale of parts-per-million *** current scientific consensus is that the decline is caused by the fossil-fuel combustion;however,few works have been done to quantitatively evaluate the response of O2 cycle under the anthropogenic impact,at both the global and regional *** paper manages to quantify the land O2 flux and makes the initial step to quantificationally describe the anthropogenic impacts on the global O2 *** estimation reveals that the global O2 consumption has experienced an increase from 33.69±1.11 to47.63±0.80 Gt(gigaton,109 t)O2yr^-1 between 2000 and 2018,while the land production of O2(totaling 11.34±13.48 Gt O2yr^-1 averaged over the same period)increased only *** 2018,the combustion of fossil-fuel and industrial activities(38.45±0.61 Gt O2yr^-1)contributed the most to consumption,followed by wildfires(4.97±0.48 Gt O2yr^-1)as well as livestock and human respiration processes(2.48±0.16 and 1.73±0.13 Gt O2yr^-1,respectively).Burning of fossil-fuel that causes large O2 fluxes occurs in East Asia,India,North America,and Europe,while wildfires that cause large fluxes in comparable magnitude are mainly distributed in central Africa.

Rapid technical advances in the field of computeropened new avenues in animal behavior *** （CA） and virtual reality （VR） haveAnimated stimuli are powerful tools as theyoffer standardization, repeatability, and complete control over the stimulus presented, thereby＂reducing＂ and ＂replacing＂ the animals used, and ＂refining＂ the experimental design in line withthe 3Rs. However, appropriate use of these technologies raises conceptual and technical *** this review, we offer guidelines for common technical and conceptual considerations related tothe use of animated stimuli in animal behavior research. Following the steps required to create ananimated stimulus, we discuss （I） the creation, （11） the presentation, and （111） the validation of CAsand VRs. Although our review is geared toward computer-graphically designed stimuli, consider-ations on presentation and validation also apply to video playbacks. CA and VR allow both new be-havioral questions to be addressed and existing questions to be addressed in new ways, thus weexpect a rich future for these methods in both ultimate and proximate studies of animal behavior.

Derived from dry powder coating of metals, electrostatic powder coating for pharmaceuticals is a technology for coating drug solid dosage forms. In this technology, coating powders, containing coating polymers, pigments, and other excipients, are directly sprayed onto the surface of the solid dosage forms through an electrostatic gun without using any organic solvent or water. The deposited coating powders are further cured to form a coating film. Electrostatic powder coating technology has many advantages compared to other pharmaceutical coating methods. It can eliminate the limitations caused by the organic solvent in solvent coating such as environmental issues and health problems. And electrostatic powder coating technology also surpasses aqueous coating due to its shorter processing time and less energy consumption, leading to a lower overall cost. Furthermore, the utilization of electrical attraction can promote the movement of coating powders towards the substrate, leading to an enhanced coating powder adhesion and coating efficiency, which make it more promising compared to other dry coating technologies. The objective of this review is to summarize the coating principles, apparatus, and formulations of different electrostatic powder coating technologies, giving their advantages and limitations and also analyzing the future application in the industry for each technology

The microstructural and mechanical properties of a newly designed tool steel(L-40),specifcally designed to be employed in the laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)technique,were *** pool boundaries with submicron dendritic structures and about 14%retained austenite phase were evident after *** grain orientation after high cooling rate solidifcation is mostlyα∥building direction(BD).Then,the heat treatment converted the microstructure into a conventional martensitic phase,reduced the retained austenite to about 1.5%,and increasedα∥BD *** heat-treated sample exhibits higher tensile strength(1720±14 MPa)compared to the as-printed sample(1540±26 MPa)along the building direction,mainly due to hardening caused by a lower volume fraction of retained austenite phase and precipitation of *** a consequence of the strength-to-ductility trade-of,the heat-treated sample showed lower elongation(10%±2%)than that of the as-printed sample(18%±2%).It was observed that transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)occurs in both the as-printed and heat-treated samples during tensile testing,which dynamically transforms the retained austenite into martensite,leading to improved *** minimum driving force to initiate the displacive phase transformation is about 6000 J/mol,which was achieved during tensile *** strength and ductility of LPBF-produced L-40 were compared with the other LPBF-produced tool steels in literature;the data indicate that heat-treated L-40 has an excellent combination of strength and ductility complemented with high printability.

塔合曼滑坡体是发育在新疆帕米尔高原东部1895年塔什库尔干7级地震区北端的一个大型滑坡体,总体呈"舌"形,由崩塌区、滑坡区和堆积区三部分组成,在滑坡区和堆积区分别形成了平行与垂直于滑坡体滑动方向的滑坡体台阶。本文介绍了该滑坡体的基本特征并采用宇宙成因核素测年技术对其形成年代进行了测定,简要论述了该测年技术的基本原理、野外采样原则及样品前处理过程。采自滑坡体不同部位的6个片麻岩巨砾样品的^(10)Be暴露年龄结果非常一致,表明该滑坡体发生在6.8±0.2ka,同时也表明了^(10)Be暴露测年是研究大型滑坡的有效测年手段。结合该滑坡体被慕士塔格断层断错并形成断层陡坎、滑坡体内发育的冲沟规模以及巨砾表面较厚的岩石漆,我们认为该滑坡体并非1895年地震的产物。

Precipitation Behaviour at the Interface of an Additively Manufactured M789-N709 Hybrid Alloy

A novel hybrid alloy, designed for plastic injection dies, was fabricated by depositing M789 steel on wrought N709 steel through laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). The M789-N709 interface (with a thickness of about 300 μm) is characterized by the variation of titanium content from 0 wt% in the N709 section to about 1 wt% near the M789 region. A thermodynamic and kinetic simulation after aging treatment was performed to reveal the precipitation behavior in the M789-N709 interface. Different sizes and amounts of ETA-Ni3(Ti,Al) strengthening precipitates exist, with a maximum volume fraction and radius of about 5% and 5 nm, respectively (near the M789 region). Moreover, the volume fraction of precipitates significantly increases with Ti additions of up to 0.6 wt% (i.e., 100 μm from the N709 region);however, beyond this threshold, the increase in the amount of precipitation becomes gradual. The thermodynamic and kinetic simulations performed in the interface are validated by electron diffraction spectroscopy (EDS), electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) and atomic probe tomography (APT) results;the measured precipitate size from the APT analysis is consistent with the simulation results. Two morphologies of precipitates were detected: elongated and spherical;both contribute to the robustness of the interface. The robust M789-N709 interface formed during the process shows good compatibility between the alloys, which is critical for extended tool life. These new insights about the precipitation at the interface of M789-N709 alloy are crucial in assessing the feasibility of N709 as a cost-effective base material to minimize the use of M789 when printing plastic injection dies.

There is broad consensus that many bones of extinct vertebrates contain Rare Earth Elements(REE)and other trace minerals that have been incorporated and enriched into the fossil during *** fossilization,apatite minerals in vertebrate bones recrystallize from metastable biogenic forms to thermodynamically more stable inorganic apatite minerals while incorporating REEs from their *** than-95% of the REE in fossil bones are diagenetically incorporated postmortem and bones in different environments have different and distinct REE signatures,generally viewed to be controlled by sedimentological and taphonomic *** REE pattern in fossils is generally stable and the normalized concentration patterns provide unique "fingerprints" or signatures that have been used for various geological and paleontological *** we compare REE patterns in bones from two distinct sites in Yunnan,China,both preserving embryonic and adult bones of Early Jurassic sauropodomorph *** discovery of embryos and their adults at the same site,a rare occurrence in the fossil record,allowed us to compare for the first time the relationship between REE concentrations in the same taxon at widely differing ontogenetic *** dinosaurs are closely related to each other and close in geological age,and their bones show similar REE ***,the embryonic bones have significantly lower levels of total REEs when compared to their adult *** attribute the tenfold difference to the level of ossification of the bones and the dramatically lower concentration of apatites in the embryonic than in the adult *** conclude that the ontogenetic stage of fossil materials can have a significant impact on REE concentrations,and discuss the impact of these results on future work.

Objectives: Numerous factors can cause infertility. Tubal factor accounts for approximately 30% of infertility in females. This study was conducted to evaluate the rate of asymptomatic Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum infection in females diagnosed with tubal obstruction. Methods: This is a retrospective case-control study conducted at New Life Fertility Centre. We have identified and reviewed the health records of 167 subfertile women that had HSG and an endocervical swab for Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum done. Results: We compared the endocervical swab results of ureaplasma and mycoplasma in the patients with tubal obstruction (group 1) to the patients with normal patent tubes (group 2). Diagnosis of tubal patency was based on the HSG results. Our results show that there is a significantly higher rate of Ureaplasma urealyticum/Mycoplasma hominis infection in group 1 compared to group 2. Conclusion: Our data shows that there is a high rate of U. urealyticum and M. hominis infection in patients diagnosed with tubal factor of infertility and it can be a marker in the prediction of the tubal pathology.
