Educational Assistance Through Modeling in Tsukuba university of technology-Professional Education for the Hearing or Visually Impaired

The National university Corporation Tsukuba university of technology（NTUT） is the only institute of higher education for the hearing and the visually impaired in Japan. In our university, hearing or visually impaired students are studying to be technicians after they graduate, toward social independence. From previous experience of higher education for students with disabilities, effects are increased when modeling is used by the teachers involved in professional education. In the Mechanical Engineering Course, we are using modeling, to match the drawing and shape for beginning students. It includes support for enhancing one＇s view, and how to draw out the ability of mechanical engineering students for the basics. For students to study Mechanical Design and Drawing, Modeling of Gear Pump, Jack and Globe Valve are easily shown through drawings and the operation of each mechanism through sample drawings in the textbook. It is possible to make an opportunity to think about the machine mechanism. It will be shown by students＇ works. The assembling of the model triggers the need for form accuracy by making a function, and improves the quality of learning. It is possible that a three-dimensional molding machine can be produced through experiential learning by the model, and modeling with the dimension numerical data. Moreover, it is also embodied in a three-dimensional modeling which results in the image processing programming created. Confirming the improvement of the program through the shape with the quality. In the Department of Synthetic Design, students have chances to realize and self-evaluate from the design of the lamp shade with a complicated shape. In the Faculty of Health Science from Department of Health, high quality teaching of visually-impaired students through the use of bone model teaching materials has become possible in the medical-related courses.

Fostering Creativity and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy in Engineering Undergraduates： Curriculum Power and Context in One university of technology

Through the Sequential Mixed Methods Approach, 24 final year power engineering students underwent 12 learnshops on creativity and entrepreneurship with an attempt to foster creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy among them. Pre- and post-test on creativity using Torrance＇s Test of Creativity （TTCT） and Entrepreneurial Self-efficacy questionnaires were used to determine the level of both creativity and entrepreneurial self-efficacy The findings of the study show that a significant leap in how teaching and learning takes place is necessary if we are to properly prepare students for the 21st century knowledge economy and that active participation, confidence and ideas generation taking place under teamwork and informal settings are a way forward and to harness the two constructs.

Evaluation of Thermal Comfort in the Design of Student Hostel at Federal university of technology Minna,Nigeria

Buildings are designed to offer protection to the occupants against harsh outdoor environment thereby enhancing optimal indoor *** the years,there have been a rise in population of students applying for admission into tertiary institution,which has led to an increase in the number of students that resides at the university *** rise in the number of students,has brought about overcrowding and stretching of facilities,with spaces which were originally intended for four students are now been habited by six to eight students thereby causing imbalance in the general indoor climatic *** study is aimed at investigating thermal comfort in student’s accommodation in tertiary institutions towards achieving a better thermal condition in the hostel *** objective is to evaluate the thermal performance in the student hostel accommodation,and also to identify passive ways of controlling thermal performance in student dwelling buildings at Federal university of technology Minna main campus,Gidan *** the purpose of this research work,primary data were collected through the use questionnaire,case studies and *** data were collected from available literature,internet,and studying of similar existing *** study revealed that most student hostel possessed few elements of passive cooling technique which in turn deprives students a quality conducive *** research recommends that soft landscaping elements should be adopted and deciduous trees planted in the environment for cooling effect during hot and humid period,provision of two openings in each room if *** can be achieved through proper building orientation,use of high thermal mass to reduce heat absorption,use of high thermal mass with night cooling,roof,ceiling and attic *** in a hot climate area requires lots of consideration,which is mentioned above so as to incorporate a general conducive indoor thermal comfort for the u

Research on Translation of Campus Public Signs in Wuhan university of technology

Based on Eugene Nida's "dynamic equivalence" translation theory as well as current situations for the translation of campus public signs in Wuhan university of technology, this paper aimed at investigating and researching the standard translation methods for campus public signs. Moreover, through the collection and analysis of the current situation about the public signs in the university, this paper also intended to provide an internationally recognized version of translation for campus public signs. Finally, the paper suggests practical ways for the promotion of the translated version in order to realize its application in other universities of China.

Design of a Mobile Probe to Predict Convection Heat Transfer on BIPV （Building Integrated Photovoltaic） at UTS （university of technology Sydney）

In the absence of a simple technique to predict convection heat transfer on BIPV （building integrated photovoltaic） surfaces, a mobile probe with two thermocouples was designed. Thermal boundary layers on vertical flat surfaces ofa PV （photovoltaic） and a metallic plate were traversed. The plate consisted of twelve heaters where heat flux and surface temperature were controlled and measured. Uniform heat flux condition was developed on the heaters to closely simulate non-uniform temperature distribution on vertical PV modules. The two thermocouples on the probe measured local air temperature and contact temperature with the wall surface. Experimental results were presented in the forms of local Nusselt numbers versus Rayleigh numbers ＂Nu = a＇（Ra）b＇＇, and surface temperature versus dimensionless height （Ts - T∞ = c.（z/h）d）. The constant values for ＂a＂, ＂b＂, ＂c＂ and ＂d＂ were determined from the best curve-fitting to the power-law relation. The convection heat transfer predictions from the empirical correlations were found to be in consistent with those predictions made by a number of correlations published in the open literature. A simple technique is then proposed to employ two experimental data from the probe to refine empirical correlations as the operational conditions change. A flexible technique to update correlations is of prime significance requirement in thermal design and operation of BIPV modules. The work is in progress to further extend the correlation to predict the combined radiation and convection on inclined PVs and channels.

As urban construction enters the era of stock development,the overall spatial environment of the main campus of North China university of technology also needs to be *** this paper,the traffic network in the campus is extracted to draw the axis map,and the space syntax theory of Depth Map software is used to quantitatively analyze the integration and intelligence degree of the main campus of North China university of *** is found that the overall spatial integration and intelligence degree of the campus are high,but the local space shows poor accessibility and insufficient space carrying *** spatial optimization measures are proposed for the corresponding *** study compares and analyzes the experience information obtained from actual research with the quantitative index data,integrates the respective advantages of qualitative and quantitative analysis,and hopes to provide a certain theoretical basis for the construction of related campus space.
