Novel Machine Learning–Based Approach for Arabic Text Classification Using Stylistic and Semantic Features

Text classification is an essential task for many applications related to the Natural Language Processing domain.It can be applied in many fields,such as Information Retrieval,Knowledge Extraction,and Knowledge modeling.Even though the importance of this task,Arabic Text Classification tools still suffer from many problems and remain incapable of responding to the increasing volume of Arabic content that circulates on the web or resides in large databases.This paper introduces a novel machine learning-based approach that exclusively uses hybrid(stylistic and semantic)features.First,we clean the Arabic documents and translate them to English using translation tools.Consequently,the semantic features are automatically extracted from the translated documents using an existing database of English topics.Besides,the model automatically extracts from the textual content a set of stylistic features such as word and character frequencies and punctuation.Therefore,we obtain 3 types of features:semantic,stylistic and hybrid.Using each time,a different type of feature,we performed an in-depth comparison study of nine well-known Machine Learning models to evaluate our approach and used a standard Arabic corpus.The obtained results show that Neural Network outperforms other models and provides good performances using hybrid features(F1-score=0.88%).

BACKGROUND Medical school is known for its lengthy process,which is both physically and emotionally draining.Students’mental balance would shrink as they progress in their medical training.A systematic review and meta-analysis reported that the prevalence of depressive symptoms among medical students remained relatively constant at 27.2%.AIM To assess the prevalence of depressive symptoms among Tunisian medical students and evaluate its associated factors.METHODS This is a descriptive cross-sectional study that was carried out in the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018,between April 2018 and July 2018 among 1138 medical students.Data were collected using a socio-demographic questionnaire and the Beck Depression Inventory-II(BDI-II).RESULTS Sixty-four percent(n=728)of the participants had depressive symptoms,of which 266(23.4%)met the criteria for mild,271(23.8%)for moderate,and 191(16.8%)for severe depressive symptoms.Female gender,low socio-economic level,smoking habits and history of mental disorder,performing leisure and physical activities,satisfaction toward a career choice,and happiness perception were the main prognostic factors for depression among medical students.Although academic grades may not be considered a prognostic factor,final-year students appeared to be less depressive than their colleagues.CONCLUSION These findings give insight into mental health issues and comorbidities among Tunisian medical students.It is a hopeful request for decision-makers and academic authorities to set serious measures and draw effective interventions to minimize the currency of psychological distress among this subpopulation.

Since 3D mesh security has become intellectual property,3D watermarking algorithms have continued to appear to secure 3D meshes shared by remote users and saved in distant multimedia databases.The novelty of our approach is that it uses a new Clifford-multiwavelet transform to insert copyright data in a multiresolution domain,allowing us to greatly expand the size of the watermark.After that,our method does two rounds of insertion,each applying a different type of Clifford-wavelet transform.Before being placed into the Clifford-multiwavelet coefficients,the watermark,which is a mixture of the mesh description,source mesh signature(produced using SHA512),and a logo encrypted using the RSA(Ronald Shamir Adleman)technique,is encoded using Turbo-code.Using the Least Significant Bit method steps,data embedding involves modulation and insertion processes.Finally,the watermarked mesh is reconstructed using the inverse Cliffordmultiwavelet transform.Due to the utilization of a hybrid insertion domain,our technique has demonstrated a very high insertion rate while retaining mesh quality.The mesh is watermarked,and the extracted data is acquired in real-time.Our approach is also resistant to the most common types of attacks.Our findings reveal that the current approach improves on previous efforts.

Smart Agriculture,also known as Agricultural 5.0,is expected to be an integral part of our human lives to reduce the cost of agricultural inputs,increasing productivity and improving the quality of the final product.Indeed,the safety and ongoing maintenance of Smart Agriculture from cyber-attacks are vitally important.To provide more comprehensive protection against potential cyber-attacks,this paper proposes a new deep learning-based intrusion detection system for securing Smart Agriculture.The proposed Intrusion Detection System IDS,namely GMLPIDS,combines the feedforward neural network Multilayer Perceptron(MLP)and the Gaussian Mixture Model(GMM)that can better protect the Smart Agriculture system.GMLP-IDS is evaluated with the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset,which contains various Distributed Denial-of-Service(DDoS)attacks.The paper first uses the Pearson’s correlation coefficient approach to determine the correlation between the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset characteristics and their corresponding class labels.Then,the CIC-DDoS2019 dataset is divided randomly into two parts,i.e.,training and testing.75%of the data is used for training,and 25%is employed for testing.The performance of the newly proposed IDS has been compared to the traditional MLP model in terms of accuracy rating,loss rating,recall,and F1 score.Comparisons are handled on both binary and multi-class classification problems.The results revealed that the proposed GMLP-IDS system achieved more than 99.99%detection accuracy and a loss of 0.02%compared to traditional MLP.Furthermore,evaluation performance demonstrates that the proposed approach covers a more comprehensive range of security properties for Smart Agriculture and can be a promising solution for detecting unknown DDoS attacks.

Since the end of the 1990s,cryptosystems implemented on smart cards have had to deal with two main categories of attacks:side-channel attacks and fault injection attacks.Countermeasures have been developed and validated against these two types of attacks,taking into account a well-defined attacker model.This work focuses on small vulnerabilities and countermeasures related to the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm(ECDSA)algorithm.The work done in this paper focuses on protecting the ECDSA algorithm against fault-injection attacks.More precisely,we are interested in the countermeasures of scalar multiplication in the body of the elliptic curves to protect against attacks concerning only a few bits of secret may be sufficient to recover the private key.ECDSA can be implemented in different ways,in software or via dedicated hardware or a mix of both.Many different architectures are therefore possible to implement an ECDSA-based system.For this reason,this work focuses mainly on the hardware implementation of the digital signature ECDSA.In addition,the proposed ECDSA architecture with and without fault detection for the scalar multiplication have been implemented on Xilinxfield programmable gate arrays(FPGA)platform(Virtex-5).Our implementation results have been compared and discussed.Our area,frequency,area overhead and frequency degradation have been compared and it is shown that the proposed architecture of ECDSA with fault detection for the scalar multiplication allows a trade-off between the hardware overhead and the security of the ECDSA.

Access Pricing to An Operating System Platform when Piracy Matters

This paper examines the impact of piracy on access pricing strategy of an operating system platform.We study the behavior of users and developers due to an increase in software protection when positive network externalities matter.We show that when piracy cost increases,access demands to the platform vary in the same direction and the magnitude of this variation depends on both the marginal network benefit that a developer derives and a certain threshold of piracy cost.Taking into account the behavior of these two sides when piracy matters,the monopoly platform changes its pricing strategy.We show that,it tends to reduce or to increase access fees.Finally,we show that under certain conditions,the divide-and-conquer pricing strategy can be reversed.

Growing evidence suggests that oxidative stress is a major cause of male infertility.Spermatozoa are highly sensitive cells due to the vulnerability of their membrane fatty acids and the diminished antioxidant defense.Reactive oxygen species(ROS)impact multiple signaling pathways involved in mitochondrial dysfunction,hormonal unbalance and semen quality decline.The origin of ROS is diverse,including generated normal cellular metabolism,environmental exposure,advanced paternal age and inflammation.Research has indicated that antioxidant supplementation can improve oxidative stress and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.Moreover,it is widely known that antioxidant supplementation can enhance sperm quality and increase the pregnancy rate in couples undergoing fertility treatments.The current study highlights the deleterious effect of ROS and its impact on semen function.In addition,it contributes to the development of a clinical approach for the use of antioxidants in the management of male infertility.

We question whether,in men with an abnormal rate of sperm DNA fragmentation,the magnetic-activated cell sorting(MACS)could select spermatozoa with lower rates of DNA fragmentation as well as spermatozoa with unbalanced chromosome content.Cryopreserved spermatozoa from six males were separated into nonapoptotic and apoptotic populations.We determined the percentages of spermatozoa with(i)externalization of phosphatidylserine(EPS)by annexin V-Fluorescein isothiocyanate(FITC)labeling,(ii)DNA fragmentation by TdT-mediated-dUTP nick-end labeling(TUNEL),and(iii)numerical abnormalities for chromosomes X,Y,13,18,and 21 by fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH),on the whole ejaculate and selected spermatozoa in the same patient.Compared to the nonapoptotic fraction,the apoptotic fraction statistically showed a higher number of spermatozoa with EPS,with DNA fragmentation,and with numerical chromosomal abnormalities.Compared to the whole ejaculate,we found a significant decrease in the percentage of spermatozoa with EPS and decrease tendencies of the DNA fragmentation rate and the sum of disomy levels in the nonapoptotic fraction.Conversely,we observed statistically significant higher rates of these three parameters in the apoptotic fraction.MACS may help to select spermatozoa with lower rates of DNA fragmentation and unbalanced chromosome content in men with abnormal rates of sperm DNA fragmentation.

Human effects and environment impacts associated with nanoparticles generated from road traffic have recently attracted wide attention.Knowledge of the influencing variables on both number and mass of nanoparticles,sources,characteristics and limitations of advanced commercially accessible instruments for monitoring nanoparticles,are still scarce and not sufficient to make regulatory decision on solid particles smaller than 23 nm(SPN<23 nm).Given the harmful effects of nanoparticles on human health(i.***.visibility impairment,cardiac-rhythm disturbance,heart attacks,premature death,etc.),their control and assessment seem to be an absolute priority.In this overview,we classify and analyze the existing knowledge of nanoparticles in road traffic atmosphere,recent progress,and emerging priorities in research related to these topics.The major aspects of ongoing research in this field,and a brief discussion of the main sources of atmosphere nanoparticles are presented.The subsequent section focuses on the influencing parameters of nanoparticles including climate conditions,height above the road surface and distance between source(road traffic)and sampling site.The next section provides a comprehensive summary on sampling measurement methodologies and instrumental techniques.We also review the health and environment implications associated with particle exposure.Finally,an evaluation of the state of research related to nanoparticles together with highlights for future research activities are also presented.
