Background and Objective: HIV, hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are very widespread in the world, however, less than 20% of the people affected are diagnosed and treated. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of HIV, HCV and HBV co-infections in pregnant women at Bangui Community university Hospital and the cost of screening. Methods: A cross-sectional study involving consenting pregnant women who came for antenatal care was performed. HIV, HCV antibodies and HBV antigens were detected using Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/HBsAg rapid test, cross-validated by ELISA tests. Sociodemographic and professional data, the modes of transmission and prevention of HIV and both hepatitis viruses were collected in a standard sheet and analyzed using the Epi-Info software version 7. Results: Pregnant women aged 15 to 24 were the most affected (45.3%);high school girls (46.0%), and pregnant women living in cohabitation (65.3%) were the most represented. Twenty-five (16.7%) worked in the formal sector, 12.7% were unemployed housewives and the remainder in the informal sector. The prevalence of HIV, HBV, and HCV viruses was 11.8%, 21.9% and 22.2%, respectively. The prevalence of co-infections was 8.6% for HIV-HBV, 10.2% for HIV-HCV, 14.7% for HBV-HCV and 6.5% for HIV-HBV-HCV. All positive results and 10% of negative results by the rapid test were confirmed by ELISA tests. The serology of the three viruses costs 39,000 FCFA (60 Euros) by ELISA compared to 10,000 FCFA (15.00 Euros) with Exacto Triplex? HIV/HCV/AgHBs (BioSynex, Strasbourg, France). Conclusion: The low level of education and awareness of hepatitis are barriers to development and indicate the importance of improving the literacy rate of women in the Central African republic (CAR). Likewise, the high prevalence of the three viruses shows the need for the urgent establishment of a national program to combat viral hepatitis in the CAR.

Not in Control,but Liable?Attributing Human Responsibility for Fully Automated Vehicle Accidents

Human agency has become increasingly limited in complex systems with increasingly automated decision-making *** instance,human occupants are passengers and do not have direct vehicle control in fully automated cars(i.e.,driverless cars).An interesting question is whether users are responsible for the accidents of these *** ethical and legal analyses frequently argue that individuals should not bear responsibility for harm beyond their ***,we consider human judgment of responsibility for accidents involving fully automated cars through three studies with seven experiments(N=2668).We compared the responsibility attributed to the occupants in three conditions:an owner in his private fully automated car,a passenger in a driverless robotaxi,and a passenger in a conventional taxi,where none of these three occupants have direct vehicle control over the involved vehicles that cause identical pedestrian *** contrast to normative analyses,we show that the occupants of driverless cars(private cars and robotaxis)are attributed more responsibility than conventional taxi *** dilemma is robust across different contexts(e.g.,participants from China vs the republic of Korea,participants with first-vs third-person perspectives,and occupant presence vs absence).Furthermore,we observe that this is not due to the perception that these occupants have greater control over driving but because they are more expected to foresee the potential consequences of using driverless *** findings suggest that when driverless vehicles(private cars and taxis)cause harm,their users may face more social pressure,which public discourse and legal regulations should manage appropriately.

Natural resources represent the base of our living and the entire economic *** depletion is a major challenge for the economic development of both developed and developing *** effi-cient use is an indispensable requirement and must be the aim of the public policies designed by the authorities *** this research,we have investigated the impact of the natural resources rent on the economic growth in some major wealthy economies of the world(P5+1 countries namely:US,UK,France,China,Russia,and Germany).We have applied a quantile-on-quantile regression to analyse this impact on different quantiles and a cross-sectional autoregressive distributed lag(CS-ARDL)approach for the panel of these six *** Dumitrescu-Hurlin panel causality test was also used to check the causality between natural resource rents and economic growth in these *** show a negative relationship between natural resources rent and economic growth for the panel but a different impact on quantiles in each *** for China and the US,a positive effect can be noticed for both lower and higher quantiles of natural resources and economic *** Dumitrescu-Hurlin causality test shows that natural resources can predict economic growth only in China,the U.S.,and the *** contrast,no causality was found for the other four countries included in the *** suggest that nations invest in wind and solar projects,use biofuels and nuclear energy,introduce a temporary profit tax to protect consumers from escalating energy prices,and increase energy efficiency in buildings and *** would benefit from a regulatory framework that is uniform and exhaustive,as well as easier to traverse and more receptive to innovation and ***-private partnership investments in innovation,innovation incentives,and environmental sector opportunities may foster long-term economic growth。

Introduction: The severity of Sars-Cov-2 infection is associated with the development of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The progression to ARDS appears to be driven by a major inflammatory mechanism potentially sensitive to corticosteroids. Observation: This article describes the case of an elderly patient was admitted to emergency departments for intense asthenia, accompanied by motor diarrhoea, dyspnoea with desaturation in ambient air, in a context of strong suspicion of infection linked to COVID-19. The article also reviews the existing literature on the diagnosis and treatment of this severe form of the disease. Conclusion: Corticosteroids, and in particular dexamethasone, have been shown to be effective in the management of patients with COVID-19, an oxygen-releasing disease.

Cr Fe Ni Cu)_(100-x)Ti_(x)(x=0,3,5,7 and 10;at%)high-entropy alloys have been designed by the consideration of the thermophysical relationship between Ti and other principal elements to investigate the influence of Ti on the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of(CrFeNiCu)_(100-x)Ti_(x)high-entropy *** addition of Ti content in HEAs leads to a change in phase formation from dual-phase(FCC1 and FCC2,FCC:face-centered cubic)to the mixture of FCC1,FCC2 phases,and an additional body-centered cubic(BCC)*** yield strength and Vickers hardness of the alloys are enhanced from 291 to 1511 MPa and HV 134 to HV 531,respectively,which depends strongly on the volume fraction of BCC *** the one hand,the plasticity of the alloys reduces from 45.00%to 24.09%,but it could be considered reasonable *** results revealed that the addition of a minor alloying element in high-entropy alloys with consideration of thermophysical parameters led to the formation of a multiple solid solution structure with excellent mechanical properties.

The objective of this multicentric study was to assess the prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Mycoplasma génitalium and Trichomonas vaginalis infections in Brazzaville, in the republic of Congo, using molecular methods. From January to December 2021, the sexually transmitted disease risk participants were recruited from six centers: The Association of Young HIV-Positive People of Congo, The Congolese Association for Family Welfare, The Association for Support to Vulnerable Groups, Talangaï hospital, Brazzaville university hospital (outpatient service) and the private clinic COGEMO (outpatient service). The real-time multiplex PCR was carried out to detect these pathogens. Each patient had at least one specimen (urine, urethral, anal and/or vaginal samples). The patients were considered infected when one of their samples was positive. 287 participants made of 227 women and 60 men were tested. The general prevalence of these infections was: Chlamydia trachomatis 2.79%, Neisseria gonorrhoeae 3.14%, Mycoplasma génitalium 3.45% and Trichomonas vaginalis 2.97. The prevalence rates according to sex were: C. trachomatis, M. génitalium, N. gonorrhea and T. vaginalis were 1.32%, 2.05%, 1.32% and 3.42% in women and 8.33%, 7.02%, 10% and 1.75% in men, respectively. Most infected patients were asymptomatic. Prevalence rates were higher in bisexual individuals, with the exception of T. vaginalis which showed higher prevalence in heterosexual patients. The bisexual and homosexual individuals represent a major public health problem in sexually active young adults, particularly among men having sex with men. These sexually transmitted infections are mainly asymptomatic, their diagnosis and management remain difficult in developing countries.

Objective This study aimed to evaluate the associations of serum folate and/or vitamin B12 concentrations with obesity among Chinese children and *** A cross-sectional study was conducted including 3,079 Chinese children and adolescents,aged 6 to 17 years,from Jiangsu,*** indices,such as,children's body mass index(BMI),BMI z-scores,waist circumference,and waist-to-height ratio were *** linear regression and generalized additive models were used to investigate the associations of serum folate and vitamin B12 levels with anthropometric indices and odds of *** We observed that serum vitamin B12 concentrations were inversely associated with all anthropometric indices and the odds of general obesity[odds ratio(OR)=0.68;95%confidence interval(CI)=0.59,0.78]and abdominal obesity(OR=0.68;95%CI=0.60,0.77).When compared to participants with both serum vitamin levels in the two middle quartiles,those with both serum folate and vitamin B12 levels in the highest quartile were less prone to general(OR=0.31,95%CI=0.19,0.50)or abdominal obesity(OR=0.46,95%CI=0.31,0.67).Conversely,participants with vitamin B12 levels in the lowest quartile alongside folate levels in the highest quartile had higher odds of abdominal obesity(OR=2.06,95%CI=1.09,3.91).Conclusion Higher serum vitamin B12 concentrations,but not serum folate concentrations,were associated with lower odds of childhood *** and adolescents with high levels of vitamin B12 and folate were less likely to be obese.

Epiphytic zooplankton community profiles in a typical urban wetland as revealed by DNA metabarcoding

Zooplankton,a crucial component of urban wetland,are one of the effective bioindicators for monitoring the feeding stocks of organisms at higher trophic levels and assessing the ecological quality of ***,information about the characteristics of epiphytic zooplankton community structure resulted from traditional methods is limited and hindered by the large amount of detritus and sludge attached to the *** investigated the epiphytic zooplankton communities associated with macrophytes(Vallisneria,Nymphaea,and Thalia dealbata)in a subtropical wetland using as DNA markers of the 18 S rRNA gene and the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I(COI)gene.A total of 241 OTUs of zooplankton were obtained from COI amplicons,including 194 OTUs of Rotifera,22 of Cladocera,and 25 of Copepoda,while only 62 OTUs of zooplankton were obtained from 18 S rDNA amplicons including 34 OTUs of Rotifera and 28 of *** zooplankton communities associated with the three macrophytes were similar,but they differed significantly from those in the open ***,there were no significant temporal differences among the zooplankton *** zooplankton communities were dominated by littoral zooplankton such as Testudinella,Lecane,and ***,especially littoral species,utilize macrophytes as food sources and as refuges against *** further led to an increase inαandβdiversity of zooplankton communities in urban *** result suggests that the joint use of multiple molecular markers could improve the taxonomic resolution and generate a comprehensive biodiversity profile of zooplankton.

ABSTRACT:Antibiotic exposure during pregnancy may affect the neurodevelopment of children,but biomonitoring-based population studies on this class of new pollutants are *** conducted a prospective birth cohort study of 2860 mother−child pairs,measured the urinary concentrations of 41 antibiotics and their two metabolites over three trimesters,and assessed children’s autism spectrum disorder(ASD)symptoms at 3 years of *** examined the associations between prenatal antibiotic exposure and children’s ASD *** least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression screened for Tetracycline and Ofloxacin as important predictors of ASD *** Poisson regression models revealed that maternal Tetracycline exposure throughout pregnancy increased the risk of ASD symptoms(RR:1.66,95%CI:1.14,2.40).Maternal Tetracycline exposure during the first(RR:1.74,95%CI:1.13,2.68)and third trimesters(RR:1.86,95%CI:1.16,3.00)increased the risk of ASD symptoms in boys,and Ofloxacin exposure during the first trimester(RR:1.47,95%CI:1.07,2.02)increased the risk of ASD symptoms in *** dose-dependent relationships between prenatal antibiotic exposure and ASD symptoms were validated by restricted cubic *** exposure to Tetracycline and Ofloxacin may increase the risk of ASD symptoms in children,and the first and third trimesters might be the key windows.
