Experimental verification of ill-defined topologies and energy sinks in electromagnetic continua

.It is experimentally verified that nonreciprocal photonic systems with continuous translation symmetry may have an ill-defined *** topological classification of such systems is only feasible when the material response is regularized with a spatial-frequency *** experimentally demonstrate that adjoining a small air layer to the relevant material interface may effectively imitate an idealized spatial cutoff that suppresses the nonreciprocal response for short wavelengths and regularizes the ***,it is experimentally verified that nonreciprocal systems with an ill-defined topology may be used to abruptly halt the energy flow in a unidirectional waveguide due to the violation of the bulk-edge *** particular,we report the formation of an energy sink that absorbs the incoming electromagnetic waves with a large field enhancement at the singularity.

Runoff coefficient(C)values are tabulated and enshrined in hydrological *** values are considered to be constant although they may not correspond to *** the same catchment,they may vary according to intensity,temporal and spatial distribution of precipitation events,humidity condi-tions,soil and land *** study aimed to analyze extreme events of precipitation and their corre-sponding flows to obtain experimental runoff coefficients(C)and compare them with the tabulated *** study was conducted in five experimental catchments in the state of S~ao Paulo,Brazil,with different land *** runoff coefficients(C)were obtained from the analysis of hydrograms and using a digital filter,which made it possible to separate the direct runoff from the total *** observed a different variation in runoff coefficient values between catchments compared to those obtained from the *** runoff coefficients had a high correlation with land *** catchments with original vege-tation cover,such as Cerrado and forest,they varied little among the events analyzed,unlike the catchments where land use is diversified,with predominantly agricultural and urban occupation.

The planning and implementation of large-scale urban development projects(UDPs)tend to arouse expectations of increasing investments to urban and social ***,these urban interventions have been less democratic and more elite-driven priorities,resulting in socio-spatial segregation in the *** the case of the Rio de Janeiro/RJ,the urban interventions planned for the years following the 2016 Olympic Games have not yet occurred in the *** this sense,it is necessary to understand the impacts of this mega-event’s intervention when the legacy does not attend the expectations of improvements in the ***,the analyses took into account official documents and the perception of residents close to the areas that received interventions for the Olympic Games,regarding the changes that occurred in these *** is evident the importance of discussing the subject to later outline guidelines or strategies that aim to minimise significant impacts generated by this insertion in the urban environment.

This study is based on strategies for reading and representing the environment,associated with the theory of social logic of space(space syntax).The general objective of this study is to understand and compare the use of space syntax in relation to connectivity,integration and choice of axial routes of the urban parks of Porto Alegre,in the state of Rio Grande do Sul,south of *** method applied was the capture of georeferenced images for data analysis by using the Theory of Space Syntax(TSE).Thus,three variables were considered for interpretation:choice,connectivity and integration,and they were correlated to statistical data on urban *** results demonstrated the possibility of obtaining significant improvements in the studied urban parks due to the need to create guidelines related to connection and integration that directly impact users'choice strategies when they move around the city.

Urbanization in Brazil is increasing,mainly in medium-sized *** expansion causes varying degrees of environmental *** general objective of this manuscript is to analyze the resultant impacts that urbanization has had on soil morphology in and around developing areas of the Brazilian city of passo fundo/*** of the methodology laid out in the Leopold Matrix allowed the location of data for the analysis of the characteristics present in the use of the soil of the study *** showed high levels of vegetative loss around the City of passo fundo,due to a high degree of urban expansion driven by real estate *** research suggests monitoring the degree of pollution of water resources in addition to regional air quality due to the marked intensity of vehicular flow.

The evolution process of urban design is the result of transformations due to population increase along the expansion of cities on a global *** applied to forms of mapping make it possible to understand the changes that have occurred in urban spaces in relation to temporal *** general objective of this study is to analyze the change that occurred from the year 2010 to 2021,in the evolution of urban design,in the city of Marau(southern Brazil).The identification of urban evolution in the years 2010 and 2021 was carried *** data were modeled using the QGIS software,in the SIRGAS(Geocentric Reference System for the Americas)database,related to the evolution of urban design in *** results demonstrate the need to apply geotechnologies not only in the city of Marau,but in other cities worldwide,because city halls need precision maps,avoiding the fragmentation of the urban fabric,a result of population expansion not projected in the built environment.

Activating mutations in the oncogenes KRAS,BRAF and PI3K define molecular colorectal cancer(CRC)subtypes because they play key roles in promoting CRC development and in determining the efficacy of chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-fluorouracil and anti-epidermal growth factor receptor monoclonal *** of patients with cancers displaying these molecular profiles is *** the limited efficacy of therapeutic strategies for CRC presenting mutational activations in mitogen-activated protein kinase and/or PI3K pathways,developing combination therapies with natural flavonoids or other phytochemicals with demonstrated effects on these pathways(and little or no toxic effects)may constitute a valuable path *** has been published on the anticancer effects of dietary ***,even an exhaustive characterization of potential beneficial effects produced by in vitro studies cannot be extrapolated to effects in *** far,the available data constitute a good starting *** results show quercetin and curcumin as possibly the best candidates to be further explored in the context of adjuvant CRC therapy either as part of dietary prescriptions or as purified compounds in combination regimens with the drugs currently used in CRC *** trial data is still largely missing and is urgently needed to verify relevant effects and for the development of more personalized treatment approaches.

Urban cemeteries have the potential to negatively impact the quality of health of populations in their immediate ***,it becomes important to understand the factors influencing the potential to disperse *** study examined the altimetry,Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI)and Land Surface Temperature(LST)in five urban cemeteries in the City of passo fundo/RS,in the south of Brazil,and the possible potential for the proliferation of contaminating agents present in these cemetery spaces in relation to a radius of 300 meters(m).The methodologies used Landsat 8 satellite images to sample the altimetry,NDVI and LST,applied to a regression model,to analyze the dispersion factors of the correlation of collected *** results showed a trend of contamination of the environment by urban cemeteries in passo fundo,in the regions with the highest population density and the lowest vegetative cover.
