Emerging evidence is fueling a new appreciation of oligodendrocyte diversity that is overturning the traditional view that oligodendrocytes are a homogenous cell *** of distinct origins,maturational stages,and regional locations may differ in their functional capacity or susceptibility to *** of the most unique qualities of the oligodendrocyte is its ability to produce *** abnormalities have been ascribed to a remarkable array of perinatal brain injuries,with concomitant oligodendrocyte *** this review,we discuss new insights into the diversity of the oligodendrocyte lineage and highlight their relevance in paradigms of perinatal brain *** therapeutic development will be informed by comprehensive knowledge of oligodendrocyte pathophysiology that considers the particular facets of heterogeneity that this lineage exhibits.

The introduction of prostate-specific antigen （PSA） for prostate cancer screening in the late 1980s led to an epidemic of prostate cancer, particularly in developed countries. However, the first valid reports from randomized controlled trials on the efficacy of screening were not published until 2009. Men in the screening group in the European Randomized Study of Screening for Prostate Cancer were 20% less likely than those in the control group to die from prostate cancer. The absolute difference was only 0.7/1000, implying that over 1400 men needed to be screened to prevent one prostate cancer death. Screening was also associated with a 70% increased risk for being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The American Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial found no survival benefit for screening. Results were not conclusive because a substantial proportion of study subjects had previously undergone PSA testing, over half of the control group had PSA testing, follow-up was relatively short, and fewer than 100 subjects died from prostate cancer. Balancing the potential survival benefit from screening is the risk of overdiagnosis--finding cancers that would not otherwise cause clinical problems^and the risk of treatment complications, including urinary, sexual and bowel dysfunction. Prostate cancer screening efforts would benefit from improved biomarkers, which more readily identify clinically important cancers. Cancer control efforts might also need to include chemoprevention, though currently available agents are controversial. In the meantime, oatients need to be supoorted in achievine informed decisions on whether to be screened for orostate cancer.

We review time-domain formulations of radiation boundary conditions for Maxwell＇s equations, focusing on methods which can deliver arbitrary accuracy at acceptable compu-tational cost. Examples include fast evaluations of nonlocal conditions on symmetric and general boundaries, methods based on identifying and evaluating equivalent sources, and local approximations such as the perfectly matched layer and sequences of local boundary conditions. Complexity estimates are derived to assess work and storage requirements as a function of wavelength and simulation time.

Objective: Few studies to date have measured the real-time effects of consumption of common and commercially available Cannabis products for the treatment of headache and migraine under naturalistic conditions. This study examines, for the first time, the effectiveness of using dried Cannabis flower, the most widely used type of Cannabis product in the United States, in actual time for treatment of headache-and migraine-related pain and the associations between different product characteristics and changes in symptom intensity following Cannabis ***: Between 06/10/2016 and 02/12/2019, 699 people used the Releaf Application to record realtime details of their Cannabis use, including product characteristics and symptom intensity levels prior to and following self-administration;data included 1910 session-level attempts to treat headache-(1328 sessions) or migraine-related pain(582 sessions). Changes in headache-or migraine-related pain intensity were measured on a 0–10 scale prior to, and immediately, following Cannabis ***: Ninety-four percent of users experienced symptom relief within a two-hour observation window. The average symptom intensity reduction was 3.3 points on a 0–10 scale(standard deviation = 2.28,Cohen's d = 1.58), with males experiencing greater relief than females(P < 0.001) and a trend that younger users(< 35 years) experience greater relief than older users(P = 0.08). Mixed effects regression models showed that, among the known(i.e., labeled) product characteristics, tetrahydrocannabinol levels 10% and higher are the strongest independent predictors of symptom relief, and this effect is particularly prominent in headache rather than migraine sufferers(P < 0.05), females(P < 0.05) and younger users(P < 0.001). Aims Geographic patterns of the intensity of plant herbivory in relation to climate factors have garnered little general support and appear to be species ***,plant-herbivore interactions are also driven by resource availability,such as soil nutrient content,and it remains unclear whether broad-scale variation in soil factors is reflected in herbivore consumption rates across species’***,we know little of how intraspecific variation in tissue quality associates with edaphic and climatic factors,and how this variation controls herbivore *** resource availability hypothesis(RAH)predicts that plant individuals growing in low-resource environments will have lower leaf nutritional quality and more constitutive defenses,which will result in lower rates of leaf *** We collected leaves from the old-field dominant species,Solidago altissima L.,from 20 sites across 10 degrees of latitude in the Eastern usa to determine the percentage leaf area consumed by insect *** obtained soil and climate data for each site,as well as plant functional and defensive traits,including specific leaf area(SLA),leaf carbon:nitrogen(C:N),and trichome *** Findings Although we found no significant latitudinal trend of leaf consump-tion rate,there was strong evidence that leaf herbivory decreased with leaf C:N and trichome density,which themselves decreased with soil N,supporting our hypothesis that the RAH applies for intraspecific variation across spatial ***,high precipitation seasonality and soil nitrogen predicted decreased *** results suggest that spatial variation in herbivory can be driven by factors other than herbivore communities and climatic gradients,and that bottom-up processes,where plant traits and soil fertility control leaf consumption,must be incorporated into spatial predictions of herbivory.

In order to accommodate the large number of Internet of Things(IoT)connections in mobile networks,Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)has been applied as the resource sharing mechanism in mobile access networks to improve the spectrum *** NOMA-based resource management for uplink communications comprises two problems,i.e.,user clustering and power&wireless channel *** clustering refers to assigning users in terms of IoT devices to different clusters(where users in the same cluster are sharing the wireless channels to upload their data),and power&wireless channel allocation is to optimize the transmission power of the users and the number of wireless channels allocated to the users in a *** two problems are coupled together,thus making it difficult to solve the NOMA-based resource management *** this paper,we propose a QoS-aWarE resourcE managemenT(SWEET)for NOMA algorithm to jointly optimize the user clustering,power management,and wireless channel allocation such that the number of wireless channels is minimized and the data rate requirements of the users can be *** performance of SWEET is validated via extensive simulations.

High-fidelity replication of DNA,and its accurate segregation to daughter cells,is critical for maintaining genome stability and suppressing *** replication forks are stalled by many DNA lesions,activating checkpoint proteins that stabilize stalled *** forks may eventually collapse,producing a broken DNA *** restart is typically mediated by proteins initially identified by their roles in homologous recombination repair of DNA double-strand breaks(DSBs).In recent years,several proteins involved in DSB repair by non-homologous end joining(NHEJ)have been implicated in the replication stress response,including DNA-PKcs,Ku,DNA Ligase IV-XRCC4,Artemis,XLF and *** is currently unclear whether NHEJ proteins are involved in the replication stress response through indirect(signaling)roles,and/or direct roles involving DNA end *** complexity in the replication stress response centers around RPA,which undergoes significant post-translational modification after stress,and RAD52,a conserved HR protein whose role in DSB repair may have shifted to another protein in higher eukaryotes,such as BRCA2,but retained its role in fork *** cancer therapeutic strategies create DNA replication ***,it is imperative to gain a better under-standing of replication stress response proteins and pathways to improve cancer therapy.

Temperature affects the structural response of asphalt concrete(AC) pavement To evaluate the performance,it is important to accurately predict the pavement surface *** study develops three regression models to determine the surface temperature of an asphalt pavement using field measured data such as air temperature,wind speed,wind direction,relative humidity,and solar *** models namely,24-h model,day-time model and night-time model were developed based on one-year continuous *** weather data were measured from October 2012 to October 2013 at an instrumented pavement section on Interstate I-40 near albuquerque,new *** developed regression models were validated using October 2014 to June 2015 weather data,which were not used in developing the regression *** temperatures predicted using the developed regression models were then compared to those predicted using the pavement mechanistic-empirical(ME) software’s default *** is observed that the regression models are better predictors of pavement surface temperatures than the ME default models.A parametric study was also performed in this study to identify the effects of weather parameters on the pavement surface temperature *** authors of this study expect that this study will be useful in pavement design especially in cold regions.
