The intertwined challenges of climate change, resource scarcity, and conflict require innovative integrated solutions that address both environmental and societal vulnerabilities. Technological innovation offers a transformative pathway for climate change adaptation and peacebuilding, with emphasis on a holistic approach to managing resource conflicts and environmental challenges. This paper explores the synergies between emerging technologies and strategic framework to mitigate climate-induced tensions and foster resilience. It focuses on the application of renewable energy systems to reduce dependence on contested resources, blockchain technology to ensure transparency in climate finance, equitable resource allocation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance early warning systems for climate-related disaster and conflicts. Additionally, technologies such as precision agriculture and remote sensing empower communities to optimize resource use, adapt to shifting environmental conditions, and reduce competition over scares resources. These innovations with inclusive governance and local capacity-building are very primordial. Ultimately, the convergence of technology, policy, and local participation offers a scalable and replicable model for addressing the dual challenges of environmental degradation and instability, thereby paving the way for a more sustainable and peaceful future.

Background: The use of assisted reproductive technique (ART) is becoming more common in infertility. During ART most patients undergo ovarian stimulation. In this study we study the correlation between ovarian reserve markers: Anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and antral follicle count (AFC), and the response to ovarian stimulation at in vitro fertilization (IVF) centres in Douala Cameroon. Methods: This was a hospital based cross-sectional sectional analytic study carried out over a period of 3 years, 4 months at Clinique de l’Aéroport, Clinique Odyssée and Clinique Urogyn. Inclusion criteria were: Female partners of infertile couples undergoing ovarian stimulation for an in vitro fertilization cycle, patients who had both ovaries and had done either AMH, AFC or both before ovarian stimulation. Patients were divided into three groups based on the number of oocytes retrieved: low ovarian response for ≤3 oocytes, normal ovarian response for 4 - 15 oocytes and high ovarian response for >15 oocytes. Data obtained was analyzed by SPSS version 25.0. Results: The ages of participants ranged from 20 - 4 7 years, with a mean age of 34.11 ± 5.11 years. Most of them had secondary infertility (57.9%). The GnRH antagonist protocol was mainly used, and ovulation was triggered using HCG predominantly. On Multivariate analysis, age and history of PCOS were significantly associated with ovarian response in the low and high ovarian response groups, respectively. Conclusion: AMH has a better predictive value than AFC, however, it is less sensitive but more specific than AFC.

Coinfection with malaria and intestinal parasites, and its association with anaemia in children in Cameroon

A Markov-switching dynamic regression analysis of the asymmetries related to the determinants of US crude oil production between 1982 and 2019

The structural changes brought about by shale oil revolution have inspired this paper of which the aim is to analyze the potential asymmetries related to the determinants of crude oil production in the ***,using a Markov-switching dynamic regression model in which parameters change when oil production moves from one regime to the other,it is found that for both oil production and oil relative importance,the regime that was dominant during the 1980s and the early 1990s when oil production in the USA was substantially high is the same regime that has once again become dominant in the decade corresponding to the shale oil ***,the study reveals the existence of asymmetries in the relationship between US crude oil production and both manufacturing production and the consumer price *** are also found in the relationship between the relative importance US crude oil and manufacturing ***,it is found that the intercept and the variance parameter also vary from one regime to the other,thus justifying the use of regime-dependent models.

The tomato fruit fly Dacus punctatifrons is a pest of tomato, Lycopersicon esculentum Mill in Cameroon. Oviposition behavior, developmental durations for the life stages, pupal and adult weights as well as adult longevities were investigated on tomato. The peak period of oviposition was recorded between the hours of 10：30-11：30 and 14：30-5：30. The number of eggs per clutch varied from 3-12. Although the development period was similar for both sexes, the pupal weights, adult weights as well as adult longevities were significantly different.

Immuno-haematologic and virologic responses and predictors of virologic failure in HIV-1 infected adults on first-line antiretroviral therapy in Cameroon

Background:Drug resistance is one of the greatest challenges of malaria control programmes,with the monitoring of parasite resistance to artemisinins or to Artemisinin Combination Therapy(ACT)partner drugs critical to elimination *** of resistance to a wide panel of antimalarials were assessed in natural parasite populations from southwestern ***:Individuals with asymptomatic parasitaemia or uncomplicated malaria were enrolled through crosssectional surveys from May 2013 to March 2014 along the slope of mount *** falciparum malaria parasitaemic blood,screened by light microscopy,was depleted of leucocytes using CF11 cellulose columns and the parasite genotype ascertained by sequencing on the Illumina HiSeq ***:A total of 259 participants were enrolled in this study from three different *** some alleles associated with drug resistance in pfdhfr,pfmdr1 and pfcrt were highly prevalent,less than 3%of all samples carried mutations in the pfkelch13 gene,none of which were amongst those associated with slow artemisinin parasite clearance rates in Southeast *** most prevalent haplotypes were triple mutants PfdhfrI51R59N108I164(99%),pfcrt-C72V73I74E75T76(47.3%),and single mutants PfdhpsS_(436)G_(437)K_(540)A_(581)A_(613)(69%)and Pfmdr1 N_(86)F)(184)D_(1246)(53.2%).Conclusions:The predominance of the Pf pfcrt CVIET and Pf dhfr IRN triple mutant parasites and absence of pfkelch13 resistance alleles suggest that the amodiaquine and pyrimethamine components of AS-AQ and SP may no longer be effective in their role while chloroquine resistance still persists in southwestern Cameroon.
