university libraries,as an integral component of university research capabilities,are tasked with serving education by providing research support to faculty and *** study adopts an affordance research perspective originating from ecological psychology to explore the optimization path of research support services in libraries in the new media *** on the characteristics of university library services,this research analyzes three aspects:production affordance,mobile affordance,and social affordance,and proposes practical recommendations to guide future research service practices of university libraries.

An indoor environmental quality(IEQ)assessment of academic libraries in Nigeria was conducted through ob-jective *** selected university libraries were Abubakar Gimba Library;Awwal Ibrahim Library;and Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida Library *** libraries were evaluated under operating conditions and during their peak usage *** of the main descriptors of good IEQ,including the acoustical,visual,and thermal comfort conditions were performed using portable IEQ *** methodology employed for the assessment of these IEQ descriptors followed prescriptions of international standards ASHRAE standard 55 and ISO *** determine the time of the day in which the library buildings can achieve optimum IEQ,measurements were taken in the morning and *** results obtained were compared with reference values found in the international Standard CIBSE Guide A for adequate IEQ compliance of academic *** findings of this study are expected to help in improving the IEQ of academic libraries in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

The introduction of new technologies has had a significant influence on teaching, learning and research activities in universities. This has offered university libraries opportunities to provide information resources in a variety of formats. This study investigated the influence of information literacy skills on postgraduate students’ use of electronic resources in private university libraries in Nigeria. The study adopted the survey research design. The study population comprised 2805 postgraduate students in five private universities offering postgraduate programmes in South-West, Nigeria. Multistage sampling technique was used in the selection process. A purposive selection of four faculties from each of the five universities was carried out. Proportionate sampling technique was used to select the sample size of 550 postgraduate students as the respondents for the study. Findings revealed that there was a significant positive correlation between information literacy skills and use of electronic resources (r = 0.28, p university libraries should ensure a continuous provision of electronic resources with adequate information communication technology tools to facilitate their use.

Taking Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural university as an example, the discipline service practice was explored from the aspects such as free network resources and tool use, subject navigation, subject librarians, information sharing space and information literacy education. The typical cases were provided;the optimization of utilization method of network resources was put forward;the subject theme navigation was developed;and the information sharing space of specific discipline and other working strategies were carried out. The experience and enlightenment of active service for subject construction, priority service for key subjects, subject service by lay and step and seizing of the opportunity of subject service were summarized, which developed ideas and provided reference to the establishment of deep subject services of general libraries of colleges and universities.

31 investigated higher agricultural college libraries all provide the reference consulting service. The service mode includes asynchronous reference consulting, synchronous reference consulting, synchronous and asynchronous reference consulting, joint reference consulting service and traditional reference consulting service. Service items include interlibrary borrowing and document delivery, reader training, special database, resource navigation and so on. But there are some problems to be solved.

To objectively reflect the relevant situation of researches on think tank service of Chinese university libraries, this paper uses CNKI Database as the retrieval source, the bibliometric analysis method, and CiteSpace, a citation network analysis tool, to make quantitative analysis on the literature data of researches on the think tank service of university libraries;draw the knowledge map of literature authors, organization distribution, keyword co-occurrence, research hotspot distribution, etc.;objectively and comprehensively analyzes the hot topics and cutting-edge trends of researches on the think tank service of libraries, the research includes the following aspects: First, the status quo and orientation of the existing university library think tanks in China;second, it is recommended to carry out research on policy support and system guarantee for university library think tank services;third, integrate big data technology is merged into the construction of university libraries think tanks;fourth, the transformation of library and information institutions to new types of think tanks, including the transformation of knowledge services, disciplinary services, and characteristic think tanks, in order to provide reference for researches and practical work of think tank service of libraries in China.

In the era of the big data. the national strategies and the rapid development of computers and storage technologies bring opportunities and challenges to the library＇s data services. Based on the investigation literature of the scientific data services in the university libraries in the United States, the development process of the scientific data is analyzed from three aspects of the service types, the service mode and the service contents. The author of this paper also proposes opportunities and challenges from 5 aspects of the policy support. strengthening the publicity, the self learning, the self positioning and relying on the embedded subject librarians, to promote the development of the library scientific data services.
