The forming of textile reinforcements is an important stage in the manufacturing of textile composite parts with Liquid Composite Molding *** orientations and part geometry obtained from this stage have significant impact on the subsequent resin injection and final mechanical properties of composite *** simulation of textile reinforcement forming is in strong demand as it can greatly reduce the time and cost in the determination of the optimized processing parameters,which is the foundation of the low-cost application of composite *** review presents the state of the art of forming modeling methods for textile reinforcement and the corresponding experimental characterization methods developed in this *** microscopic,mesoscopic and macroscopic models are *** concerning the simulation of wrinkling are also presented since it is the most common defect occurred in the textile reinforcement ***,challenges and recommendations on the future research directions for textile reinforcement modeling and experimental characterization are provided.

Physiological thermotolerance and behavioral thermoregulation are central to seasonal cold adaptation in ectothermic *** species with enhanced mobility,behavioral responses may be of greater importance in the cold stress *** the carabid beetles as a study organism,the current study compared physiological thermotolerance and behavioral thermoregulation in carabid species inhabiting cereal fields in different landscape contexts,from fine grain heterogeneous“complex”landscapes to homogenous“simple”*** thermotolerance was determined via measurement of the CTmin and chill coma *** responses to cold temperature exposure were determined employing a purpose built arena,and thoracic temperature measured to estimate the efficacy of the behavior as a form of behavioral *** revealed an influence of landscape composition on the cold tolerance of carabid beetles,although species differed in their sensitivity to landscape intensification.A reduced effect of landscape on the thermotolerance of larger carabid beetles was observed,thought to be the consequence of greater mobility preventing local acclimation to microclimatic variation along the landscape intensification *** into behavioral thermoregulation of the 3 largest species revealed burrowing behavior to be the main behavioral response to cold stress,acting to significantly raise carabid body *** finding highlights the importance of behavioral thermoregulation as a strategy to evade cold *** use of behavioral thermoregulation may negate the need to invest in physiological thermotolerance,further offering explanation for the lack of landscape effect on the physiological thermotolerance of larger carabids.

Some volcanic rocks from Nyiragongo volcano in the Democratic Republic of Congo contain highly oxidized olivine *** olivines crystals are made of two phases,dark olivine on backscattered electron images of pure forsterite composition and grey Mg-poor areas made of olivine and iron-rich *** of the initial composition confirms that they are primary olivine with late separation of two different olivine *** forsterite is enriched in SiO_(2) but contains lower amounts of CaO than Fe-rich areas,in agreement with expected partitioning of these elements related to the composition of the ***-rich oxides formed around or inside the olivine crystals during the separation process and confirm a highly oxidized environment during their *** propose that this separation occurred during subsolidus recrystallization under high fO_(2) conditions of the olivine crystals after cooling of the volcanic *** provides evidences for circulation of iron-rich fluids or gas inducing deuteritic processes occurring in the large volcanic cone of the Nyiragongo,in relation with the presence of a shallow magma chamber connected to a large and permanent lava lake.

The integration of additive manufacturing(AM)in design and engineering has prompted a wide spectrum of research efforts,involving topologically optimized solid/lattice structures,multimaterial structures,bioinspired organic structures,and multiscale structures,to name a ***,except for obvious cases,very little attention has been given to the design and printing of more complex three-dimensional(3D)hollow structures or folded/creased *** of the main reasons is that such complex open or closed 3D cavities and regular/freeform folds generally lead to printing difficulties from support-structure-related *** address this barrier,this paper aims to investigate four-dimensional(4D)printing as well as origami-based design as an original research direction to design and build 3D support-free hollow *** work consists of describing the rough 3D hollow structures in terms of two-dimensional(2D)printed origami precursor layouts without any support *** origami-based definitions are then embodied with folding functions that can be actuated and fulfilled by 3D printed smart *** desired 3D shape is then built once an external stimulus is applied to the active materials,therefore ensuring the transformation of the 2D origami layout to 3D *** demonstrate the relevance of the proposal,some illustrative cases are introduced.

AIM To identify and characterize the protective effect that L-carnitine exerted against an oxidative stress in C2C12 *** Myoblastic C2C12 cells were treated with menadione, a vitamin K analog that engenders oxidative stress, and the protective effect of L-carnitine(a nutrient involved in fatty acid metabolism and the control of the oxidative process), was assessed by monitoring various parameters related to the oxidative stress, autophagy and cell death. RESULTS Associated with its physiological function, a muscle cell metabolism is highly dependent on oxygen and may produce reactive oxygen species(ROS), especially under pathological conditions. High levels of ROS are known to induce injuries in cell structure as they interact at many levels in cell function. In C2C12 cells, a treatment with menadione induced a loss of transmembrane mitochondrial potential, an increase in mitochondrial production of ROS; it also induces autophagy and was able to provoke cell death. Pre-treatment of the cells with L-carnitine reduced ROS production, diminished autophagy and protected C2C12 cells against menadione-induced deleterious effects. CONCLUSION In conclusion, L-carnitine limits the oxidative stress in these cells and prevents cell death.

In this work, we study the DKP equation subjected to the action of combined vector plus scalar energy depend on potentials in(1+1) dimensions space-time. The conditions of normalisation and continuity equation are calculated. The eigenfunctions and the corresponding eigenvalues are then determined. A numerical study is presented and the energy graphs for some values of the energy parameter are plotted.
