Media and Information Literacy in Inclusive Education: A Team Teaching Concept at the Technische universitat dortmund

There is a desideratum in the research about the interdependencies of inclusive education and media education. Digital media can facilitate individualized and cooperative learning. Additionally, digital media can be used to promote inclusion. However, which factors influence the acquisition of media and information literacy in inclusive education? Comparative international studies, e.g., the International Computer and Information Literacy Study (ICILS), show how social challenges, such as participation and handling heterogeneity at school, can be addressed through media. In numerous studies, it becomes apparent that German teachers do not sufficiently see the potential of digital media, especially for the improvement of learning opportunities for individuals with diverse learning requirements. German teachers are not well able to apply digital media appropriately in their lessons. Teachers need to be qualified and to design modern education with accessible media. In Germany, the ratio between available computers and pupils (1:4) is far better than the rate between teaching with and without computers. According to the teacher’s reports, only 9% of teachers are using digital media daily. Approximately 40% use digital media seldom or never. It seems that the cause is a skeptical attitude towards media among teachers, especially in humanities. That may result from missing didactical competences regarding digital media. The idea of Technical Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) and extending that explanatory model for teachers’ competencies on the inclusive practices builds the theoretical background for the design of joint seminars by the Research Center Youth-Media-Education as part of the Faculty for Cultural Studies and the Research Cluster Technology for Inclusion and Participation at the University of dortmund. ZONAL SPHERICAL POLYNOMIALS WITH MINIMAL L_1-NORM

Radial functions have become a useful tool in numerical mathematics. On the sphere they have to be identified with the zonal functions. We investigate zonal polynomials with mass concentration at the pole, in the sense of their L1-norm is attaining the minimum value. Such polynomials satisfy a complicated system of nonlinear e-quations (algebraic if the space dimension is odd, only) and also a singular differential equation of third order. The exact order of decay of the minimum value with respect to the polynomial degree is determined. By our results we can prove that some nodal systems on the sphere, which are defined by a minimum-property, are providing fundamental matrices which are diagonal-dominant or bounded with respect to the ∞-norm, at least, as the polynomial degree tends to infinity.

Chemically Induced and Light-Independent Cryptochrome Photoreceptor Activation

The cryptochrome photoreceptors of higher plants are dimeric proteins. Their N-terminal photosensory domain mediates dimerization, and the unique C-terminal extension （CCT） mediates signaling. We made use of the human FK506binding protein （FKBP） that binds with high affinity to rapamycin or rapamycin analogs （rapalogs）. The FKBP-rapamycin complex is recognized by another protein, FRB, thus allowing rapamycin-induced dimerization of two target proteins. Here we demonstrate by bioluminescence resonance energy transfer （BRET） assays the applicability of this regulated dimer- ization system to plants. Furthermore, we show that fusion proteins consisting of the C-terminal domain of Arabidopsis cryptochrome 2 fused to FKBP and FRB and coexpressed in Arabidopsis cells specifically induce the expression of cryptochrome-controlled reporter and endogenous genes in darkness upon incubation with the rapalog. These results demonstrate that the activation of cryptochrome signal transduction can be chemically induced in a dose-dependent fashion and uncoupled from the light signal, and provide the groundwork for gain-of-function experiments to study specifically the role of photoreceptors in darkness or in signaling cross-talk even under light conditions that activate members of all photoreceptor families.

Ubiquitous Media with UPnP and RFID-Based User Interfaces

The evolution of systems and networks, including PDA, handhelds, mobile phones, WLAN, and Bluetooth provides us new scenarios for media presentation. Because of the growing number of such (personal) devices in the Personal Area Network of the User it is necessary to set up a system, in which the user doesn’t lose control over the media and their corresponding presentation devices. Digitalisation will lead us to a split of into content (music, video), storage (e.g. compact discs, server), and user interfaces (receiver). Media will no longer be stored in shelves at home, but in storage spaces located somewhere in the network. New user in-terfaces like PDA and mobile phones will replace the panel field of an old fashion CD-Player and amplifier. A protocol is required for synchronisation and controlling this media scenario, which is UPnP (Universal Plug and Play). This paper describes a scenario based on UPnP and its implementation provided by the author.

This paper focuses on cultural influences on the effectiveness of organizational processes in companies. At this time, there is a predominant emphasis on culture-related differences of processes and workflows in companies in the main body of articles on cross-cultural management research. This paper proposes an extension of these research efforts in that case that the different efficiencies of these processes, resulting from cultural influences, should be examined in more detail. Based on the beginnings of organizational theory and with practical examples, it has been already verified that cultural influences shape organizational structures as well as organizational processes. This kind of fact should lead to the assumption that these cultural influences should also create differences in their efficiency, depending on what kind of culture the companies are. These differences in efficiency can be regarded as opportunities for success from which further competitive advantages can be derived. As that the examination of differences in efficiency of processes is still a rarity in the field of cross-cultural management research this should be developed further.

Male Cone Evolution in Conifers:Not All That Simple

Despite the simple structure of male conifer cones, there is an enormous variability in cone properties observed upon more careful examination. The diversity ranges from simple cones to compound cones. Moreover, cones can be distinguished according to different spatial distributions on the tree. Simple cones are distributed either as solitary cones or as fascicular or clustered aggregations, while compound cones only exhibit fascicular or clustered aggregations. Here, we demonstrate that these different spatial distribution patterns correlate with distinct leaf types and variable branching frequencies. Furthermore, we provide new insights into the evolution of the sporangiophore, particularly in Taxaceae. Two notably important and fast-evolving characters of conifers are the number of sporangia per sporangiophore and the number of sporangiophores per cone. We demonstrate, across many species and types of cones, how these characters are able to adjust according to the optimal amount of pollen.

The first search for the doubly heavyΩ^(0)_(bc)baryon and a search for the E^(0)_(bc)baryon are performed using pp collision data collected via the LHCb experiment from 2016 to 2018 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV,corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.2 fb^(-1).The baryons are reconstructed via their decays to Λ^(+)_(c)π^(-)and E^(+)_(c)π^(-).No significant excess is fbund for invariant masses between 6700 and 7300 MeV/c^(2),in a rapidity range from 2.0 to 4.5 and a transverse momentum range from 2 to 20 MeV/*** limits are set on the ratio of the Ω^(0)_(bc)and E^(0)_(bc)production cross-section times the branching fraction to Λ^(+)_(c)π^(-)(E^(+)_(c)π^(-))relative to that of the Λ^(0)_(b)(E^(0)_(b))baryon,for different lifetime hypotheses,at 95%confidence *** upper limits range from 0.5 x 10^(-4)to 2.5 x 10^(-4)for theΩ^(0)_(bc)→Λ^(+)_(c)π^(-)(E^(0)_(bc)→Λ^(+)_(c)π^(-))decay,and from 1.4x 10^(-3)to 6.9 x 10^(-3)for theΩ^(0)_(bc)→E^(+)_(c)π^(-)(E^(0)_(bc)→E^(+)_(c)π^(-))decay,depending on the considered mass and lifetime of theΩ^(0)_(bc)(E^(0)_(bc))baryon.

Using proton-proton collision data at centre-of-mass energies of and 13 TeV recorded by the LHCb experiment at the Large Hadron Collider,corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb-1,the invariant mass spectrum of J/ψ pairs is studied.A narrow structure around 6:9 GeV=c^2 matching the lineshape of a resonance and a broad structure just above twice the J/ψ mass are *** deviation of the data from nonresonant J/ψ-pair production is above five standard deviations in the mass region between 6:2 and 7:4 GeV=c^2,covering predicted masses of states composed of four charm *** mass and natural width of the narrow X(6900)structure are measured assuming a Breit-Wigner lineshape.

A search for the rare decays W^(+)→D_(s)^(+)γ and Z→D0γis performed using proton-proton collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13TeV,corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.0fb−*** significant signal is observed for either decay mode and upper limits on their branching fractions are set using W^(+)→D_(s)^(+)γ and Z→μ+μ−decays as normalization *** upper limits are 6.5×10^(−4) and 2.1×10^(−3) at 95% confidence level for the W^(+)→D_(s)^(+)γ and Z→D^(0)γ decay modes,*** is the first reported search for the Z→D^(0)γ decay,while the upper limit on the W+→D+sγbranching fraction improves upon the previous best limit.
