Brassinosteroid （BR） hormone signaling controls multiple processes during plant growth and development and is initiated at the plasma membrane through the receptor kinase BRASSINOSTEROID INSENSITIVE1 （BRI1） together with co-receptors such as BRI1-ASSOClATED RECEPTOR KINASE1 （BAK1）. BRI1 abun- dance is regulated by endosomal recycling and vacuolar targeting, but the role of vacuole-related proteins in BR receptor dynamics and BR responses remains elusive. Here, we show that the absence of two DUF300 domain-containing tonoplast proteins, LAZARUS1 （LAZl） and LAZl HOMOLOG1 （LAZlH1）, causes vacuole morphology defects, growth inhibition, and constitutive activation of BR signaling. Intriguingly, tonoplast accumulation of BAK1 was substantially increased and appeared causally linked to enhanced BRI1 trafficking and degradation in lazl lazlhl plants. Since unrelated vacuole mutants exhibited normal BR responses, our findings indicate that DUF300 proteins play distinct roles in the regulation of BR signaling by maintaining vacuole integrity required to balance subcellular BAK1 pools and BR receptor distribution.

1 IntroductionObstructive atherosclerosis vascular disease remains one of the greatest public health threats in the world. Surgical treatment to replace diseased blood vessels is usually done using major human allografts (veins or arteries) or synthetic prosthesis ( PTFE, Dacron). However, these substitutes have not a good pateney, because of the lack of endothelial cells (ECs) layer, which prevents thrombus formation. The challenge of tissue engineering vessels is to build-up blood/substitute interface near native *** order to improve ECs adhesion, it is necessary to precoat the intra-luminal vessel. Recently, a new surface modification technique arose, based on the alternate adsorption of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes. Our objective was to favour the endothelialization of the cryo-preserved allografts, treated with a thin polyelectrolyte multilayered film, made of PSS (poly (sodium-4-styrenesulfonate) ) or PAH (poly (allylamine hydrochloride) ).

Introduction. Cutaneous actinomycosis of the buttocks is a rare granulomatous bacterial infection that usually starts in the perianal area. We present an exceptional case in the form of a pseudo-tumor. Case report. A 69 year-old woman, in general good health, developed an indurate mass on the supra-external quadrant of the right buttock. The tumor was centered by an ulcerated nodule with a diameter of around 10 centimeters. Imaging showed invasion of the soft tissue of the skin in the internal psoas muscle, the adipose tonality of which was compatible with a *** skin biopsy revealed characteristic bacterial grain in the center of a cholesterol granuloma. Subsequent culture in aerobic milieu identified Actinomyces gerencseriae. Cure was obtained following complete exeresis of the fibrous tissue and 8 months of antibiotic amoxicillin-clavulanic acid therapy. Discussion. Otherthan the most unusual clinical aspect, the originality of this case of actinomycosis of the buttocks is based on its potential appendix origin, 4 years after acute appendicitis, with slow posterior fistulation. Other cases of actinomycosis of appendix origin have been reported and its delayed onset following the intervention has been documented. The pseudo-sarcomatous aspect was responsible for diagnostic wandering. The histological image and, subsequently, the results of the bacteriological culture confirmed the diagnosis.

位于青藏高原西部的叶城-狮泉河地震探测剖面,始于塔里木盆地南缘,穿越西昆仑造山带,终止于喀喇昆仑山东侧。本文作者利用天然地震体波完成了该区的三维走时残差反演,勾划出了青藏高原西北部的深部构造格局。获取了塔里木岩石圈以约40°倾角向南俯冲到西昆仑造山带之下约280 km的层析图像;地表出露的地体边界在层析图中均有显示,并能追踪到其向深部延续的清晰图像。尤其是发现了空喀山断裂与康西瓦断裂在200 km深度下有相交的趋势。该区段也正是地震活动的主要地带。

BACKGROUND Surgical resection and radiofrequency ablation(RFA)represent two possible strategy in treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in Milan *** To evaluate short-and long-term outcome in elderly patients(>70 years)with HCC in Milan criteria,which underwent liver resection(LR)or *** The study included 594 patients with HCC in Milan criteria(429 in LR group and 165 in RFA group)managed in 10 European *** analysis was performed using the Kaplan-Meier method before and after propensity score matching(PSM)and Cox *** After PSM,we compared 136 patients in the LR group with 136 patients in the RFA *** survival at 1,3,and 5 years was 91%,80%,and 76%in the LR group and 97%,67%,and 41%in the RFA group respectively(P=0.001).Diseasefree survival at 1,3,and 5 years was 84%,60%and 44%for the LR group,and 63%,36%,and 25%for the RFA group(P=0.001).Postoperative Clavien-Dindo IIIIV complications were lower in the RFA group(1%vs 11%,P=0.001)in association with a shorter length of stay(2 d vs 7 d,P=0.001).In multivariate analysis,Model for End-stage Liver Disease(MELD)score(>10)[odds ratio(OR)=1.89],increased value of international normalized ratio(>1.3)(OR=1.60),treatment with radiofrequency(OR=1.46),and multiple nodules(OR=1.19)were independent predictors of a poor overall survival while a high MELD score(>10)(OR=1.51)and radiofrequency(OR=1.37)were independent factors associated with a higher recurrence *** despite a longer length of stay and a higher rate of severe postoperative complications,surgery provided better results in long-term oncological outcomes as compared to ablation in elderly patients(>70 years)with HCC in Milan criteria.

Melanoma is the most aggressive form of skin *** intracellular signaling pathways are responsible for melanoma's extraordinary resistance to current chemotherapeutic modalities. The pathophysiologic basis for resistance to both chemo- and radiation therapy is rooted in altered genetic and epigenetic mechanisms that, in turn, result in the impairing of cell death machinery and/or excessive activation of cell growth and survival-dependent pathways. Although most current melanoma therapies target mitochondrial dysregulation,there is increasing evidence that endoplasmic reticulum(ER) stress-associated pathways play a role in the potentiation,initiation and maintenance of cell death machinery and autophagy. This review focuses on the reliability of ER-associated pathways as therapeutic targets for melanoma treatment.

Drug-induced liver injury due to celecoxib, a first generation Cox-2 inhibitor, has been rarely reported. We describe one case of severe and prolonged cholestasis after treatment with celecoxib for 12 days in a young woman with no evidence of other causes of liver disease or allergy. Jaundice lasted for 3 months, pruritus and abnormal liver biochemistries persisted for 18 months after stopping the drug. Liver biopsy specimens showed a cholestatic pattern of liver injury with only minimal mononuclear infiltrate in the portal tracts. This case report supports the notion that celecoxib may cause bland, long term cholestasis.
