Tendon pathology is characterized by damage to the tendon structural integrity with disruption of collagen fibers(Nourissat et al.,2015).Acute tendon injuries show a macroscopic discontinuity,ranging from partial to complete tendon *** involve inflammation and lead to loss of *** chronic conditions(or tendinopathy),symptoms include changes in both locomotor and sensorial functions of the tendon(Nourissat et al.,2015;Scott et al.,2020).Inconsistency in terminology for cases of painful tendon disorders is found,but recently the term tendinopathy was established in consensus as preferable for cases with persistent tendon pain and loss of function related to mechanical *** term excludes a problem in clinical practice-i.e.,specification of the presence of a particular pathological or biochemical process(Scott et al.,2020).

AIM To evaluate the relation between 12 polymorphisms and the development of gastric cancer(GC) and colorectal cancer(CRC).METHODS In this study,we included 125 individuals with GC diagnosis,66 individuals with CRC diagnosis and 475 cancer-free individuals. All participants resided in the North region of Brazil and authorized the use of their samples. The 12 polymorphisms(in CASP8,CYP2 E1,CYP19 A1,IL1 A,IL4,MDM2,NFKB1,par1,TP53,TYMS,UGT1 A1 and XRCC1 genes) were genotyped in a single PCR for each individual,followed by fragment analysis. To avoid misinterpretation due to population substructure,we applied a previously developed set of 61 ancestryinformative markers that can also be genotyped by multiplex PCR. The statistical analyses were performed in Structure v.2.3.4,R environment and SPSS *** After statistical analyses with the control of confounding factors,such as genetic ancestry,three markers(rs79071878 in IL4,rs3730485 in MDM2 and rs28362491 in NFKB1) were positively associated with the development of GC. One of these markers(rs28362491) and the marker in the UGT1 A1 gene(rs8175347) were positively associated with the development of CRC. Therefore,we investigated whether the joint presence of the deleterious alleles of each marker could affect the development of cancer and we obtained positive results in all analyses. Carriers of the combination of alleles RP1 + DEL(rs79071878 and rs28361491,respectively) are at 10-times greater risk of developing GC than carriers of other combinations. Similarly,carriers of the combination of DEL + RARE(rs283628 and rs8175347) are at about 12-times greater risk of developing CRC than carriers of other *** These findings are important for the comprehension of gastric and CRC development,particularly in highly admixed populations,such as the Brazilian population.

The gain of transcription factor binding sites(TFBS) is believed to represent one of the major causes of biological *** we used strategies based on comparative genomics to identify 21,822 TFBS specific to the human lineage(TFBS-HS),when compared to chimpanzee and gorilla genomes. More than 40%(9,206) of these TFBS-HS are in the vicinity of 1,283 genes.A comparison of the expression pattern of these genes and the corresponding orthologs in chimpanzee and gorilla identified genes differentially expressed in human tissues. These genes show a more divergent expression pattern in the human testis and brain, suggesting a role for positive selection in the fixation of TFBS gains. Genes associated with TFBS-HS were enriched in gene ontology categories related to transcriptional regulation, signaling, differentiation/development and nervous ***, genes associated with TFBS-HS present a higher expression breadth when compared to genes in general. This biased distribution is due to a preferential gain of TFBS in genes with higher expression breadth rather than a shift in the expression pattern after the gain of TFBS.

The volcanic rocks of the Colíder and Roosevelt formations are extensively exposed in the south-central portion of the Amazonian Craton where effusive and pyroclastic rocks have been *** units,topped by chemical sediments and oceanic facies as rhyolite and andesite lavas,rhyodacite,and porphyritic dacite,with frequent intercalations of pyroclastic and epiclastic ***-rock geochemistry for 55 samples of rhyolitic to andesitic composition suggests the involvement of fertile mantle-derived components with E-MORB to OIB *** analyzed rocks display calc-alkaline to shoshonitic affinity consistent with generation related to an active continental *** whole-rock Sm-Nd isotope data from selected felsic volcanic rocks of the Colíder and Roosevelt formations yield negative initial eNd values between–3 and–9,indicating the predominantly crustal nature of the parental magmas with early Archean to late Paleoproterozoic(ca.2.5–2.0 Ga)depleted mantle model ages.

We report some results indicating changes in the observed dynamics of the Rössler model under the influence of external sinusoidal *** varying the control parameters of the external sinusoidal forcing,namely the amplitude and the angular frequency,we show,through numerical simulations which include parameter planes and Lyapunov exponents,that the external forcing can produce both chaos-order and order-chaos *** also show that the sinusoidal forcing may generate hyperchaos.

We investigate the dynamical behavior of a symmetric linear coupling of three quadratic maps with exponential terms, and identify various interesting features as a function of two control parameters. In particular, we investigate the emergence of quasiperiodic states arising from Naimark-Sacker bifurcations of stable period-l, period-2, and period-3 orbits. We also investigate the multistability in the same coupling. Lyapunov exponents, parameter planes, phase space portraits, and bifurcation diagrams are used to investigate transitions from periodic to quasiperiodic states, from quasiperiodic to mode-locked states and to chaotic states, and from chaotic to hyperchaotic states.
