A Scientometric Approach to Analyze Scientific development on Renewable Energy Sources

Purpose: This paper aims to point out the scientific development and research density of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic, wind, and biomass, using a mix of computational tools. Based on this, it was possible to verify the existence of new research trends and opportunities in a macro view regarding management, performance evaluation, and decision-making in renewable energy generation systems and ***/methodology/approach: A scientometric approach was used based on a research protocol to retrieve papers from the Scopus database, and through four scientometric questions, to analyze each area. Software such as the Science Mapping Analysis Software Tool(Sci MAT) and Sci2 Tool were used to map the science development and ***: The scientific development of renewable energy areas is highlighted, pointing out research opportunities regarding management, studies on costs and investments, systemic diagnosis, and performance evaluation for decision-making in businesses in these *** limitations: This paper was limited to the articles indexed in the Scopus database and by the questions used to analyze the scientific development of renewable energy *** implications: The results show the need for a managerial perspective in businesses related to renewable energy sources at the managerial, technical, and operational levels, including performance evaluation, assertive decision making, and adequate use of technical and financial ***/value: This paper shows that there is a research field to be explored, with gaps to fill and further research to be carried out in this area. Besides, this paper can serve as a basis for other studies and research in other areas and domains.

Rescuing agroforestry as strategy for agriculture in Southern Brazil

Knowledge about agricultural ecosystems, as well as about ecological and social interactions that occur in an agricultural context, is essential to promote a balanced environment for production. Incorporating the forest landscape into farming systems has promoted the development of integrated production systems such as agroforestry. However, many aspects of the relationship between farming and the forest landscape have changed since the modernization of agriculture introduced by the Green Revolution. The objectives of this review are：（1） to contribute to the understanding of the changes in cultivation strategies and in the dynamics of agricultural systems,particularly in the context of farming in santa Catarina State, Brazil;（2） to contribute to the understanding of agroforestry systems as a strategy to reintroduce the element of forestry into agricultural production systems; and（3） to compile a list of forest plant species that could be used in agroforestry. The approach adopted in this manuscript seeks to highlight the potential of agroforestry systems to conserve natural resources and thereby to support agricultural development by connecting environmental conservation with income for farmers.

Some highlights of the Gamma-ray first four years of the Fermi Space Telescope

The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, formerly called GLAST, measures the cosmic gamma-ray flux in the energy range 8 keV to 〉 300 GeV. In addition to breakthrough capabilities in energy coverage and localization, the very large field of view enables observations of 20~ of the sky at any instant, and the entire sky on a timescale of a few hours. With its launch in 2008, Fermi opens a new and important window on a wide variety of phenomena, including pulsars, black holes and active galactic nuclei, gamma-ray bursts, supernova remnants and the origins of cosmic rays, and searches for hypothetical new phenomena such as particle dark matter annihilations. A brief overview and selected science highlights from the first four years are provided.

Soil properties characterization for land-use planning and soil management in watersheds under family farming

Environmental monitoring of small,rural watersheds was one of the components of the Natural Re-sources Management and Rural Poverty Alleviation Program(RS-Rural)in southern *** purpose of the monitoring was to assess the impact of promoting soil conservation and environment manage-ment practices adopted by farmers and funded by the *** four small monitored watersheds,in a total of 95 plots representing distinct land use and soil management,surface soil was collected to characterize ground-zero of the Program by determining several soil physical,chemical and microbio-logical *** component analysis(PCA)shows soil physical,chemical and biological properties were decisive in defining the agricultural soils in the rural watersheds with family *** sensitivity to chemical properties provides an opportunity to improve soil quality if soil management focuses on altering those *** management practiced by tobacco farmers leads to rapid,intense degradation of some natural soil properties,especially those related to the dynamics of soil organic matter,compared with more conservationist uses(forest,regrowth,and grassland).Thus,soil management must be reoriented to avoid the progress of degradation and recover soil physical and biological *** crops and by land-abandonment to allow natural vegetation are important management strategies for the degraded soils used for tobacco production,increasing soil organic matter,nutrients and microbial activity and thus allowing further crop *** conclusion,wa-tersheds with tobacco cropping have soils with lower quality than when under no-tillage grain pro-duction,requiring changes in land use and soil management.

Experimental Exclusion of Guanaco Grazing Increases Cover, Diversity, Land Function and Plant Recruitment in Patagonia

Semiarid Patagonia represents 25%of the rangeland area in Argentina,and sheep overgrazing has degraded about a third of it in the *** this century,depleted domestic stocks have mostly stabilized,but Guanaco populations have *** native camelids share habitat and diets with sheep,but their effect on vegetation is poorly understood and has long been *** set up an exclusion experiment in Monte León and Cañadón Vaca,a semiarid shrubland grassland in southern Patagonia,currently grazed only by *** baselines were studied in 2016 in twelve plots,and half of them were protected from guanaco ***-six plots were cleared to study *** was reassessed in 2021,and changes were evaluated using a paired *** protected plots,vegetation cover increased,bare soil diminished,and vegetated patches grew in size,but the density of the patch-interpatch arrangement did not ***,measured by richness and the Shan-non-Wiener(SW)index,grew signiﬁ*** recycling increased,as did the Stability and Inﬁltration Land Function indexes,although these last differences were not signiﬁ*** cover under guanaco grazing also increased,mainly due to the growth of dwarf shrubs,a typical tendency in sheep grazing-induced transitions in the *** patches under grazing fragmented,resulting in smaller patches and denser patch struc-tures,while diversity and land function indexes remained *** plants established in cleared plots without guanacos showed higher cover density and individual *** effects are similar to those observed in numerous experimental sheep *** grazing may thus prevent restoration and contribute to the generalized land degradation processes that overgrazing has been causing in Patagonia for over a century.

Dynamics in the Parameter Space of a Neuron Model

Some two-dimensional parameter-space diagrams are numerically obtained by considering the largest Lyapunov exponent for a four-dimensional thirteen-parameter Hindmarsh-Rose neuron *** different parameter planes are considered,and it is shown that depending on the combination of parameters,a typical scenario can be preserved:for some choice of two parameters,the parameter plane presents a comb-shaped chaotic region embedded in a large periodic *** is also shown that there exist regions close to these comb-shaped chaotic regions,separated by the comb teeth,organizing themselves in period-adding bifurcation cascades.

Sexual selection and hermaphroditic organisms： Testing theory

Sexual selection is widespread if not ubiquitous in hermaphroditic organisms. Although many phenomena that have been described as sexual selection in gonochores, （e.g. harem polygamy, multiple mating, elaborate courtship, even secondary sexual characters） can be found in some hermaphrodites, what is more interesting is the ways in which sexual selection in her- maphrodites may differ from dioecious taxa. In hermaphrodites, an individual＇s mating success includes its success from both sexual roles. Secondly, in many simultaneously hermaphroditic taxa there is strong evidence of sexual selection and yet the ope- rational sex ratio is 1：1, by definition. Many simultaneous hermaphrodites have elaborate courtship and genital anatomy, suggest- ing sexual selection plays an important role in reproductive success. Sperm competition and cryptic female choice mean that the number of mates acquired is not necessarily a predictor of reproductive success. Even in simultaneous hermaphrodites with re- ciprocal mating, variance in reproductive success through the male role and through the female role may differ in a population. Moreover hermaphrodites may choose to emphasize one sexual role over the other. Data suggest that the preferred role varies in hermaphrodites, which creates an opportunity to test fundamental predictions and assumptions of sexual selection theory. Hermaphrodites may vary their emphasis on one sexual role over the other either developmentally or behaviorally in response to environmental or social parameters. How they use this capability in acquiring more or higher quality mates still requires study

Let V be a vertex operator superalgebra and g =（1 2 ···k） be a k-cycle which is viewed as an automorphism of the tensor product vertex operator superalgebra V■*** this paper,we construct an explicit isomorphism from Ag(V■k) to A（V） if k is odd and to Aσ（V） if k is even where σ is the canonical automorphism of V of order 2 determined by the superspace structure of *** recover previous results by Barron（2016）and Barron and Vander Werf（2014） that there is a one-to-one correspondence between irreducible g-twisted V■k-modules and irreducible V-modules（*** σ-twisted V-modules） when k is odd（***）.This explicit isomorphism is expected to be useful in our further study on the Zhu algebra of the fixed point subalgebra.

A Parameter-Space Analysis of the Rikitake System
