In the context of achieving carbon neutrality,CO_(2)catalytic conversion technologies are effective in reducing atmospheric CO_(2)concentrations while simultaneously producing renewable *** approach is seen as a viable method for constructing a new carbon cycle,thereby effectively addressing the issue of global *** CO_(2)conversion has recently emerged as a promising research focus due to its high energy utilization efficiency,superior CO_(2)conversion,excellent product selectivity,mild operating conditions,low energy consumption and minimal operating *** oxide(CeO_(2))has been widely used in photothermal catalysis due to its unique chemical properties,particularly when used as a support material with supported metals,creating distinctive interfacial sites for catalytic *** an emerging star support in photothermal CO_(2)conversion,its contributions are equally significant and should not be ***,to our knowledge,there has been no comprehensive review of CeO_(2)applications in catalytic hydrogenation of CO_(2).In this paper,we summarize and discuss CeO_(2)-based materials for photothermal CO_(2)conversion to value-added *** research particularly focuses on the synthesis methods of CeO_(2)-supported catalysts,the history of CeO_(2)in photothermal catalysis,types of photothermal catalytic reactors,unique characterization methods for the photothermal catalysts and the photothermal CO_(2)hydrogenation reactions by CeO_(2)-based *** related to further challenges and future directions for photothermal CO_(2)hydrogenation are also provided.

The optimal semi-analytical modeling for the infinite-conductivity horizontal well performance under rectangular bounded reservoir based on a new instantaneous source function

The main objective of this study is to develop the optimal semi-analytical modeling for the infiniteconductivity horizontal well performance under rectangular bounded reservoir based on a new instantaneous source *** available semi-analytical infinite-conductivity models(ICMs)for horizontal well under rectangular bounded reservoir in literature were developed by applying superposition of pressures in space(SPS).A new instantaneous source function(i.e.,instantaneous uniform-flux segmentary source function under bounded reservoir)is derived to be used instead of SPS to develop the optimal semi-analytical *** new semi-analytical ICM is verified with ICM of Schlumberger[1]and with previous semi-analytical ICMs in terms of bottom hole pressure(BHP)profile and inflow rate distribution along the *** model is also validated with real horizontal wells in terms of inflow rate distribution along the *** results show that the developed model gives the optimal semi-analytical modeling for the infinite-conductivity horizontal well performance under rectangular bounded *** that,high computationalefficiency and high-resolution of wellbore discretization have been achieved(i.e.,wellbore segment number could be tens of hundreds depending on solution requirement).The results also show that at pseudosteady state(PSS)flow regime,inflow rate distribution along the wellbore by previous semi-analytical ICMs is stabilized U-shaped as performance of inflow rate distribution at late radial flow ***,the previous semi-analytical ICMs are incorrectly modeling inflow rate distribution at PSS flow regime due to the negative influence of applying *** optimal semi-analytical ICM is in a general form and real time domain,and can be applicable for 3D horizontal well and 2D vertical fracture well under infinite and rectangular bounded reservoirs,of uniform-flux and infinite-conductivity wellbore conditions at any time of well life.

Relationship between abdominal adiposity, cardiovascular fitness, and biomarkers of cardiovascular risk in British adolescents

Background:Puberty is a critical time in the development of overweight and *** aim of this study was to examine relationships between measures of adiposity,cardiovascular fitness,and biomarkers of cardiovascular disease risk in ***:In a cross-sectional study design,129 girls and 95 boys aged 12.9-14.4 years at various stages of puberty were included,along with their mothers(n=217)and fathers(n=207).Anthropometric assessments of adiposity were made,along with cardiovascular physical fitness,using the 20-m shuttle run test,and biomarkers associated with cardiovascular risk,including glucose,insulin,triglyceride,fibrinogen,and C-reactive protein(CRP)***:waist-to-height ratio values were similar in boys and girls and correlated positively with diastolic blood pressure,insulin,triglyceride,fibrinogen,and CRP concentrations,and inversely with cardiovascular fitness *** thickness measurements were higher in ***-molecular-weight adiponectin concentrations were lower in boys than girls,particularly in late puberty,and CRP levels were *** fitness,maternal body mass index(BMI),and paternal BMI contributed independently to the variance in waist measurements in girls and ***,triceps skinfold thickness,and weight-to-height ratio,but not parental BMI,contributed independently to the variance in cardiovascular ***:There is a relationship between measures of adolescent adiposity and parental weight that involves factors other than cardiovascular *** boys have relatively more abdominal fat than girls and a tendency to have a proinflammatory profile of *** observations suggest that family and social environmental interventions are best undertaken earlier in childhood,particularly among boys.

Model of acceptance of web 2.0 technologies for increased participation in learning activities A case study of a Scottish university

CFD investigation of dense phase pneumatic conveying at a pipeline enlargement

The practice of stepping a conveying line is not new and there are many examples in industry; however, the details of the flow behaviour at the step have not been extensively studied. Three step geometries were modelled： an ＇abrupt＇ step and two ＇gradual＇ step-up geometries from a pipe bore of 75-100 ram. The flow behaviour of a single plug of material passing through these geometries was investigated using the ＇Eulerian＇ CFD model from Fluent. Solids volume fractions were recorded at 0.01 s time steps at several point locations, and visualised throughout the pipe.

Monitoring spatiotemporal soil moisture changes in the subsurface of forest sites using electrical resistivity tomography (ERT)

The effects of drought on tree mortality at forest stands are not completely understood. For assessing their water supply, knowledge of the small-scale distribution of soil moisture as well as its temporal changes is a key issue in an era of climate change. However, traditional methods like taking soil samples or installing data loggers solely collect parameters of a single point or of a small soil volume. Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) is a suitable method for monitoring soil moisture changes and has rarely been used in forests. This method was applied at two forest sites in Bavaria, Germany to obtain high-resolution data of temporal soil moisture variations. Geoelectrical measurements (2D and 3D) were conducted at both sites over several years (2015-2018/2020) and compared with soil moisture data (matric potential or volumetric water content) for the monitoring plots. The greatest variations in resistivity values that highly correlate with soil moisture data were found in the main rooting zone. Using the ERT data, temporal trends could be tracked in several dimensions, such as the interannual increase in the depth of influence from drought events and their duration, as well as rising resistivity values going along with decreasing soil moisture. The results reveal that resistivity changes are a good proxy for seasonal and interannual soil moisture variations. Therefore, 2D- and 3D-ERT are recommended as comparatively non-laborious methods for small-spatial scale monitoring of soil moisture changes in the main rooting zone and the underlying subsurface of forested sites. Higher spatial and temporal resolution allows a better understanding of the water supply for trees, especially in times of drought.
