AIM:To develop and evaluate the validity and reliability of a knowledge,attitude,and practice questionnaire related to vision screening(KAP-VST)among preschool teachers in ***:The questionnaire was developed through a literature review and discussions with *** and face validation were conducted by a panel of experts(n=10)and preschool teachers(n=10),respectively.A pilot study was conducted for construct validation(n=161)and test-retest reliability(n=60)of the newly developed ***:Based on the content and face validation,71 items were generated,and 68 items were selected after exploratory factor *** content validity index for items(I-CVI)score ranged from 0.8-1.0,and the content validity index for scale(S-CVI)/Ave was *** consistency was KR^(2)0=0.93 for knowledge,Cronbach’s alpha=0.758 for attitude,and Cronbach’s alpha=0.856 for ***:The KAP-VST is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing knowledge,attitude,and practice in relation to vision screening among preschool teachers in malaysia.

This study proposed a new royal crown-shaped polarisation insensitive double negative triple band microwave range electromagnetic metamaterial absorber(MA).The primary purpose of this study is to utilise the exotic characteristics of this perfect metamaterial absorber(PMA)for microwave wireless *** fundamental unit cell of the proposed MA consists of two pentagonal-shaped resonators and two inverse C-shaped metallic components surrounded by a split ring resonator(SRR).The bottom thin copper deposit and upper metallic resonator surface are disjoined by an FR-4 dielectric substrate with 1.6 mm *** CST MW studio,a high-frequency electromagnetic simulator has been deployed for numerical simula-tion of the unit cell in the frequency range of 4 to 14 *** the TE mode,the offered MA structure demonstrated three different absorption peaks at 6.85 GHz(C-band),8.87 GHz(X-band),and 12.03 GHz(Ku-band),with 96.82%,99.24%,and 99.43%absorptivity,*** electric field,magnetic field,and surface current distribution were analysed using Maxwell’s-Curl equations,whereas the angle sensitivity was investigated to comprehend the absorption mechanism of the proposed *** numerical results were verified using the Ansys HFSS(high-frequency structure simulator)and ADS(advanced design system)for equivalent circuit ***,the proposed MA is polarisation and incident angle ***,the application of this MA can be extended to a great extent,including airborne radar applications,defence,and stealth-coating technology.

Background:Machine learning has enabled the automatic detection of facial expressions,which is particularly beneficial in smart monitoring and understanding the mental state of medical and psychological *** algorithms that attain high emotion classification accuracy require extensive computational resources,which either require bulky and inefficient devices or require the sensor data to be processed on cloud ***,there is always the risk of privacy invasion,data misuse,and data manipulation when the raw images are transferred to cloud servers for processing facical emotion recognition(FER)*** possible solution to this problem is to minimize the movement of such ***:In this research,we propose an efficient implementation of a convolutional neural network(CNN)based algorithm for on-device FER on a low-power field programmable gate array(FPGA)*** is done by encoding the CNN weights to approximated signed digits,which reduces the number of partial sums to be computed for multiply-accumulate(MAC)*** is advantageous for portable devices that lack full-fledged ***:We applied our approximation method on MobileNet-v2 and ResNet18 models,which were pretrained with the FER2013 *** implementations and simulations reduce the FPGA resource requirement by at least 22%compared to models with integer weight,with negligible loss in classification ***:The outcome of this research will help in the development of secure and low-power systems for FER and other biomedical *** approximation methods used in this research can also be extended to other imagebasedbiomedicalresearchfields.

During the last 2 years the IUGS has reviewed its Organisation and Operations to allow more efficient and effective administration into the future. Among the items reviewed was the life of Commissions which have now been defined at a maximum of 8 years. As a consequence COGEOENVIRONMENT, which has been in existence since early 1990, was formally closed down at the IGC in Florence in August 2004. The decision by the IUGS Council to close COGEOENVIRONMENT did not in any way imply that the role of the IUGS in promoting geoscience in environment matters was completed.

AIM:To characterise the cag pathogenicity island in Helicobacter pylori(***) isolates by analysing the strains' vacA alleles and metronidazole susceptibilities in light of patient ethnicity and clinical ***:Ninety-five *** clinical isolates obtained from patients with dyspepsia living in malaysia were analysed in this *** genes in the cagPAI region(cagE,cagM,cagT,cag13,cag10 and cag67) andvacA alleles of *** isolates were identified by polymerase chain *** isolates' metronidazole susceptibility was also determined using the E-test method,and the resistant gene was characterised by ***:More than 90% of the tested isolates had at least one gene in the cagPAI region,and cag67 was predominantly detected in the strains isolated from the Chinese patients,compared with the Malay and Indian patients(P < 0.0001).The majority of the isolates(88%) exhibited partial deletion(rearrangement) in the cagPAI region,with nineteen different patterns *** with intact or deleted cagPAI regions were detected in 3.2% and 8.4% of isolates,*** prevalence of vacA s1m1 was significantly higher in the Malay and Indian isolates,whereas the isolates from the Chinese patients were predominantly genotyped as vacA s1m2(P = 0.018).Additionally,the isolates from the Chinese patients were more sensitive to metronidazole than the isolates from the Malay and Indian patients(P = 0.047).Although we attempted to relate the cagPAI genotypes,vacA alleles and metronidazole susceptibilities to disease outcome,no association was *** vacA alleles were distributed evenly among the strains with intact,partially deleted or deleted cagPAI ***,the strains exhibiting an intact cagPAI region were sensitive to metronidazole,whereas the strains with a deleted cagPAI were more ***:Successful colonisation by different *** genotypes is dependent on the host's genetic makeup and may play an im

In this paper, a perturb and observe(P&O) based voltage regulator(POVR) and a capacitor compensator(CC)circuit are proposed for the implementation on 31-level asymmetrical switch-diode based multi-level DC-link(MLDCL) inverter. Since the application of MLDCL in a standalone photovoltaic(PV) system requires constant DC voltages from PV panels, the POVR strategy is deployed to regulate the voltage along with the capability to deliver the maximum power at full *** DC-DC converters are used as the interface between the panels and the inverter for the POVR operation. The results show that POVR is capable of achieving the desired fixed DC voltages even under varying environmental and load conditions,with a steady 230 V at the output. At full load, the standalone system successfully delivers 97.21% of the theoretical maximum power. Additionally, CC is incorporated to mitigate voltage spikes at the output when supplying power to inductive *** successfully eliminates the spikes and also reduces the total harmonic distortion(THD) of output current and voltage from more than 10% to less than 5%, as recommended in IEEE 519 standard.

Boundary effect in digital pathology is a phenomenon where the tissue shapes of biopsy samples get distorted during the sampling *** morphological pattern of an epithelial layer is greatly ***,the shape deformation model can normalise the distortions,but it needs a 2D *** theory,on the other hand,is not yet tested on digital pathology ***,this work proposed a curvature detection to reduce the boundary effects and estimates the epithelial *** boundary effect on the tissue surfaces is normalised using the frequency of a curve deviates from being a straight *** epithelial layer’s depth is estimated from the tissue edges and the connected nucleolus ***,the textural and spatial features along the estimated layer are used for dysplastic tissue *** proposed method achieved better performance compared to the whole tissue regions in terms of detecting dysplastic *** result shows a leap of kappa points from fair to a substantial agreement with the expert’s ground truth *** improved results demonstrate that curvatures have been effective in reducing the boundary effects on the epithelial layer of ***,quantifying and classifying the morphological patterns for dysplasia can be *** textural and spatial features on the detected epithelial layer can capture the changes in tissue.
